Just found you and subscribed right away. You have made me a lover of book page folding. This is just amazing and your teaching technique was well described. I cannot wait to make one. Thank You So Much !!!!!
Hi Maria, thank you for the great tutorial! You explained it very well. I was also entertained by the subject matter of the book at 11:49 ;D . I went on to google that phrase and see that the author is a Booker award winner - might have to check his writing out! Thanks again for a great, clear tutorial.
This is so wonderful and I can’t wait to make this for a very special gift for the holidays. My only suggestion is to watch the video upside down - for me anyway, I could follow your hands and measuring more easily. Thanks, sweetie!
Hi there Maria, loved watching you create a beautiful heart. Had to watch the video 5 times intil I began to understood how tte heart was created. Would love the pattern please!! Barbara
Love your video very clear to understand perfect for us to follow. can’t wait to share with my 9 year old daughter she’s going to love it. Your so incredible talented . Thanks again
Ever time you creased the paper with your finger, all I could think of is paper cuts…made my flesh crawl. Love the outcome of the book though! You teach very well
Hi everyone, I have a question if the pattern says 2.5 cm invert that means ? invert from the base line of the patterns as in fold tab to the depths of 2.5 cm ? or invert from the edge of the page as in fold the tab 2.5 cm depths from the edge of the page ? thanks
I have tried to email you but it is saying not a valid email address? My question is there isn't a.button in the top right hand corner of my screen to press to get the free pattern for this tutorial is there any other way I can get it please?
Hello there. Beginner here. I'm just looking through a number of videos to learn the different techniques etc. I am wondering, what is the purpose of cutting past the point that you are folding to? Is there a reason for that or would cutting to the fold point be just as good?
Hi, you say that the first 10 pages don’t have folds..are these 10 pages after you figure out what page to start on with the math or just count the first 10 pages in the book. Thanks!
I think it would depend which book you choose as not all have the same number of pages. You'll have to work out the numbers to make the pattern centered.
hi do you have a tutorial of the baby feet in the heart at all as i have bought it but i cant get the first it right of the feet i only need to see the first few cut and folds of the start of the feet please thanks x
+Tracey Wheeler Hi Tracey, Thank you for your comment. I'm looking at doing one for the baby feet as soon as possible...watch this space as they say :) Maria x
Hello, love the video, but looking at the comments, I’m really confused! How many pages does the book need? Because if there’s 173 folds, which you are doing one on each page, why does there need to be 346 pages? And in one of the first comments you say the book needs at least 466 pages? Thank you :)
Hi Lesley, thank you for your comment. You can find the pattern available at this link www.etsy.com/uk/listing/252034029/heart-book-folding-pattern-valentines?ref=listing-shop-header-1 I hope that helps x
I love your tutorial. It is very easy to understand. My question is, do you fold the first hals of a pattern towards the front of the book then switch on the second half to fold towards the back of the book. Does it make a difference if all sheets are folded towards the same side of the book?
+Marianne Miceli Hi Marianne. Pleased you like the tutorial. I always fold from the front of the book to the back. Mainly because I design as I fold/cut. There is no reason why you shouldn't fold from the centre as long as you find the middle of the pattern correctly. It generally doesn't make a difference which way the sheet is folded and I sometimes fold the opposite way if the exposed fold looks better hidden. Hope that helps. Maria x
Hi, I'm so sorry that I haven't replied until now. I adapted a craft ruler by attaching a piece of plastic strip to the end. I now use an incra rule which is fab. If you google them you'll be able to get one. x
love love love this im brand new not even bought a book yet but this pattern is amazing i want to make this could you please tell me where i could get the pattern from.
+james partridge Hi James, The ruler is a 30cm acrylic craft ruler which I adapted by screwing on a plastic strip. The plastic strip is a plant label, the type you put in the soil. I did try gluing it initially but it kept coming off hence the screws. It is a great little tool now. If you can adapt one, or get someone to do it for you, it makes measuring so much quicker. Maria x
You people crack me up. You want her help. You ask where the pattern is, when she has clearly already put the link to it in the description section. Then, you want her to give you the pattern for free?!?!?!?! The patterns are $5 on Etsy, for heaven's sake!! If you can't create your own patterns (I certainly couldnt) and you can't come up with a mere $5 to pay someone that CAN....then you don't need a new hobby. You need a job.
purplepaisleypassion ... Hmmm, seems to me that you didn't have to be so totally negative. I personally don't think that you should have posted this in the first place. Here's one for you ... 'if you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all' !!!! Oh, and BTW ... There was NOT a link in the Description Section when I looked at this!
It's a standard craft ruler by Xcut if you're in the uk you can buy it here: www.hobbycraft.co.uk/xcut-precision-ruler-30cm/584748-1000?glCountry=GB&gclid=CjwKCAjwjJjOBRBVEiwAfvnvBItIwtO30U_8EOVAv-otDgsb9HNXiVc5_eDP-l2LKiNpwqTftwIy_xoCZ7MQAvD_BwE I then attached a piece of plastic to the end so it hooks over my book for quicker and more precise measuring. However I now use an incra rule which is made in the US for woodwork. Hope that helps, Maria x
+William Lawrence Hi William, You can get the pattern from my Etsy shop. Here's the link: www.etsy.com/uk/listing/252034029/book-folding-pattern-with-cuts-inverted?ref=shop_home_active_2
Great question! That was because it is tricky to fold exactly onto the 4cm line. But if you double it to 8, and align the edge of the page with 8, then it still ends up in the correct place
Hi Nancy. I haven't done a specific video for the inches pattern but the process is the same, just different measurements. I hope that helps but please let me know if you're still having problems. Maris x
Your teaching is fantastic and I can't thank you enough for your FREE lessons that are so incredibly clear! THANK YOU so very very much!!
Thank you :)
This is like an ASMR video and your voice just made me so relaxed! Thank you going to try to make this book fold!
Love the clarity of this

Nice video. Your English is easy to understand even for a German 😉
Thank you :)
Hi this was so amazing! Where i get the pattern sheet
It is possible to create this without tearing the pages. Because I have saw it somewhere.
Like. Wow. Great work. Greetz from Holland.
For the page one of two you can just pause at the correct timing of 1:23
Where can I get all the measurements cuz apparently there’s nothing on the website
How I can calculate if the book’s size is different

Beautiful, I'll be visiting your etsy shop for a few of your patterns.

Could I have access to this pattern please x
Hi Lesley, thank you for your comment. You can find the pattern available at this link www.etsy.com/uk/listing/252034029/heart-book-folding-pattern-valentines?ref=listing-shop-header-1 I hope that helps x
you converted this to inches for me, why is there such a difference in book size and folds?
It's just the way the inches divide up,. It wasn't a simple conversion but a completely new pattern. I hope that helps. Maria x
I have a book that is 22.8 will it work with the measurements
+Nick Sopko So sorry for not replying sooner Nick. 22.8 is fine :)
Why does the book need a minimal 346 pages if the heart only takes 173 pages?
Each fold takes up 2 pages (front and back)
I love your tutorial. It is very easy to understand. My question is, do you fold the first hals of a pattern towards the front of the book then switch on the second half to fold towards the back of the book. Does it make a difference if all sheets are folded towards the same side of the book?

I need the instruction sheet to continue but I can’t find it and I need this for a art project can someone please tell me where to find it ?
In her videos she says to download it from her tutorials. It should be on the upper eight hand corner of the first few videos.
Absolutely gorgeous
So can I use inverted on any patterns?
Yes. x
is there anyway I can get the template for free?
Hi, I'm sorry but this pattern is not available free.
Thank you for your time and instruction.
How many pages must the book have to do this?
+Jordyn Edwards Hi Jordyn, The book needs to have 346 pages. Maria x

+mary w Thank you Mary
hello, good job. What is the relevance of an inset page please?
If the pattern is not very detailed, inset pages are used to make the finished pattern fuller. Hope that helps.
Yes thanks very much.

Daaaaamn good talk
Take it easy chief.
What is the name/style of large ruler you use? I want to buy one. Is it called a grid ruler?
It's a standard craft ruler by Xcut if you're in the uk you can buy it here:
www.hobbycraft.co.uk/xcut-precision-ruler-30cm/584748-1000?glCountry=GB&gclid=CjwKCAjwjJjOBRBVEiwAfvnvBItIwtO30U_8EOVAv-otDgsb9HNXiVc5_eDP-l2LKiNpwqTftwIy_xoCZ7MQAvD_BwE
I then attached a piece of plastic to the end so it hooks over my book for quicker and more precise measuring. However I now use an incra rule which is made in the US for woodwork.
Hope that helps, Maria x

Newbie here. I’m confused on why you doubled it.

how to get inches on the video?
