I was deeply impressed by her great performance, personality, everything about her. though she has gone longtime ago, but she is still alive in my heart.
Can't help but shed a tear for Kate. After this performance she was gone with the next year. She looks so tired in this video. Luckily for all of us much of her music is now on UA-cam. JIm
@@terryfowleradventures She died in December 1986. If this was "mid 80's", generally accepted as 1983 to 1987, it would have had to be 1983 to 1985, since she was not performing in '86 (she was dealing with treatment for leukemia).
@Eric Green The notation that this was filmed in the mid 80's is incorrect. Nina started playing with Kate in 1977 and as Kate mentioned in the beginning of this song, Nina had been playing with her for about 4 years. This recording took place in about 1981. Nina performed with Kate until the summer of 1986 recording the song "The Wind Blows Wild" in May 1986 and at a couple of benefits for Kate in the summer of 1986
Agree, it's only been lately that two shows have turned up online. Austin City Limits, and another in TX around the same year. Someone has edited the shows into individual songs. I think there will be more, soon. Keep looking. You can get a good look at her finger picking style in some. She knew how to handle herself on stage, that's obvious.
Thanks for posting these videos; there's not that much live Kate Wolf stuff on UA-cam. Definitely one of my favorite female singer/songwriters. Her voice/songs have this dark, minor key element I've always been drawn to. Sandy Denny might be the only one I'd compare her to.
There’s a couple of reasons why there aren’t a whole bunch of videos of Kate on UA-cam. Kate made one national TV appearance in the US aged 43 in 1985 and passed the following year. “Kate Wolf - An Evening in Austin” from Austin City Limits is available on DVD featuring fully remastered audio. A 75-minute televised concert uninterrupted by advertisement. Three or so of the songs from the concert are on UA-cam. It’s up there with the best MTV Unplugged performances from anyone in the ‘90s; watchable and enjoyable. The National Association of Independent Record Distributors awarded the live album recording of the concert best folk album of 1989-three years after Kate’s had passed. If you want to see Kate and the excellent musicians she played with. It comes with bonus features and videos. Highly recommended.

You guys should grow up.
I like it at this tempo. Such genius.
Je n'ai pas eu la chance de la voir, mais c'était une belle personne, j'en suis sûr. Repose en paix.
I had never heard of her before now. She was great.
Seven years later I’m hearing her for the first time.
I wish there were more live recordings. Thank you for this

Nice one John L - 'Green Eyes' live is just brilliant, so was Nanci G - So sad that they've gone now
I think she was the best.
Nina was the perfect compliment to Kate’s beautiful music
Absolutely. A true musician. Knows when to play fancy and knows when not to.
Would you PLEASE correct spelling of Kate (NOT Kake!) Otherwise, thanks for posting this precious footage.
we know who this is..
It says Kake Wolf in the title? That's not correctly spelled.
"KakE" ???? I wonder if his name is "Kevan" or "Kevin?"
Nice to watch ..too bad about her premature passing
ace love
10 years ago ? More like 40. And I wonder why Kate didn’t give Nina. Solo ?
