If you have ever experienced the pleasure of actually smelling the sweet, wonderful smell of the Pikake flower, you would then understand how profound the lyrics of this song are. FANTASTIC, to say the least...one of my all time fave songs and smells on this beautiful earth-NOTHING compares! This song encompasses the entire SOUL of Hawaii; I LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT-JUST BEAUTIFUL and DEAD-ON!
Absolutely, miss the fragrance of Hawaii flowers. Had to move mainland, da best flowers cannot be shipped. I ordered for sons wedding, had to ship orchids, dey hold up betta. Everything was beautiful, but I wish dey could have fragrance ones. I miss home
Thankyou to Leilani for sharing this beautiful video, i have a few Hawaiian friends, and it saddens me that their people are almost forced to learn American and English culture, it should be the other way around ,as in Americans and English learning Hawaiian culture, maybe then the world can be that little bit better, for we need love, we need the aloha everywhere : )
To YourRisingPhoenix - Happily the Hawaiian language and culture are being brought back, and passed along quite a bit more than it was for too long. I agree with your comment regarding the culture should be learned by any and all who move to these beautiful islands, so they can fully appreciate just how sophisticated the Hawaiians truly were/are. Much aloha to you.
We are loving and accepting, regardless of gay. straight, black, yellow, even haole. And that goes for us living on the Mainland, too. Thank goodness for the Brothers!!
