    Just wanted to pop in and say thanks for this tutorial. I had to present at a Board meeting and they loved my slides. I simplified the instructions and triggers a bit - just couldn't seem to get the close out button to work but the explanations as just what I was looking for and my presentation was great all the same. Thanks so much!

      I’m so glad you could impress your board. That’s always a fun accomplishment. And thank you for circling back. So great to hear all the good things that come from these tutorials.

    @how to canvas can you replace the text pop-us with photos instead? I'm working on a site analysis, and would like to create an interactive map that when hotspots are clicked photos from my site walk pop up

    I know this is an old video... When I start the slideshow preview ("From Beginning"?) it starts up with the Lorem text box. How do you get it to start with just the main picture?

    At 3:56 are you duplicating the slide or duplicating the shape? You stated "slide" it would seem to duplicate the shape. Thanks!

    • @HowToCanvas
      @HowToCanvas  Рік тому

      That was a slip up. I was duplicating the shape, not the slide.

    This was bulls eye but I'm thinking - is it possible to merge 2 approaches by having the slides in popup with the background ( as demonstrated in approach 1)

    This is great information. How would this be presented if there are multiple slides? I have created a slide with multiple hotspots and also included additional slides. How does the viewer progress the slide but also allow for the hotspots to work properly?

      You could create a manual button for navigating to the next slide.

    Great tutorial! I definitely want to try this out for a team bio page I have to design. I have a question--if I save my PowerPoint presentation as a PDF document, will the hotspots/pop-ups I designated translate over? Basically, will they work the same way in a pdf reader as they would in PowerPoint? Since we submit proposals in pdf format, I'd prefer to know if it will actually work before I get started. Thanks for any insight you have on this!

    Great video, but when I select browse at kiosk, I can no longer change slides once I am done doing the popup text

      You could create a manual button for navigating to the next slide, or even a hidden "button" for you that takes you to the next slide.

    Does this element still work if the PowerPoint is converted to a PDF presentation? Thanks

    • @HowToCanvas
      @HowToCanvas  2 роки тому +2

      I just converted the PowerPoint I used for this video into a PDF. The hotspots that take the user to a different slide function just fine, but the ones with interactive popups on the same slide don't function correctly - the popup is shown by default and covers the original background content. Interesting question!

    I am making an interactive map by parish. Is there a quick way to copy the same formatting from one parish hotspot the next so that I don't have to complete the entire process for 50 parishes?

    • @HowToCanvas
      @HowToCanvas  3 роки тому +1

      You can copy/paste hotspots or you can select it and press Ctrl + D to duplicate it. Then change the properties. You may even have success with the format painter. I have another video that discusses that feature. ua-cam.com/video/lByc3l4mubs/v-deo.html

      That's very strange - I thought all versions had the kiosk option.

    This is a great tutorial. However, I have 8 slides, one for each hotspot? I see you only have one. What am I doing wrong? I've watched this several times. Thx

    • @HowToCanvas
      @HowToCanvas  2 роки тому

      Instead of a slide for each hotspot, you'll want to have layers on the slide for the content. The hotspot will "animate" or reveal the layer content via trigger when you click on the hotspot. Then you'll want to add a new trigger to close or hide the content. Alternately, if you want to have 8 slides then just include a trigger to take you back to the original slide again. In that case, I would suggest using kiosk mode instead of presentation mode in the slide show menu.

    • @HowToCanvas

      Yea this would more a novelty for a few interactions but for a 50 slide show it would be a bit much. I could imagine perhaps 2 or 3 slides like this.
