    We returned to the Concheros area and found several pieces. Among them a knife with a circular base and a serrated tip, both unknown to us. We thought that the knife was special for filleting fish and for removing the flesh from the shells that would be on the fire. Thank you for always being here with us.

      I think the rounded base one is a smaller version of a Kerrville Butted Knife 😎

      @@Larry-j7e Here in our area we had never found that type of knife or the serrated tip. It is wonderful to find tips of different types. I think it is because the area is different in terms of the needs that they had. They were more dedicated to fishing than to hunting and gathering. In this place there are no grinding stones or metates. THANK YOU, FRIEND, AND BLESSINGS ALWAYS FOR YOU.

      You could be on to something, Senor. That certainly seems like it would be perfect, to remove shellfish, for consumption! Sort of like a sharpened, spoon! A Specialized knife form... 👍

    Look up Acheulean tools, which were produced during the Lower Palaeolithic era have the circular base
    Early Americans had this design also, much later, commonly called Tear Drop points.
    Very similar to the Abasolo point I might add.

    • @coyotearrowheadhunting3083
      @coyotearrowheadhunting3083  Місяць тому

      I am also confused, my friend. Perhaps it had two functions, the sharp part was used in one way and the circular part for another. The blade was certainly also a sharp knife. They dedicated themselves to eating seafood such as shellfish and fish, I think that is the explanation of how they used these pieces. Thank you for being here, my good and great friend. Peace is a blessing.

      Wow, my friend, after thinking a little and with the comments, I think you are right and that it had several uses. For some uses they used the tip, for others the sides and for others the circular part. Oh well, my friend, I think they used them with great care because they are thin and fragile, sometimes when opening a shell they could break. @coyotearrowheadhunting3083  17 днів тому +1

      Hello my good friend. I live in Baja California Sur, Mexico. I don't know California in the US. But the first reference I would give you is to locate a place where there is a natural water source such as a river, a lake or a low part of the earth's surface where a large amount of water accumulates when it rains. The first thing the natives looked for for a settlement or for hunting was that there was water. I'm sorry I can't tell you a specific place in that part of California because I don't know that region. Welcome here with coyote always.
