Wow - I'm not a percussionist myself (cellist and vocalist here), but to my untrained eye, this looks like intense stuff. The music in this show is wonderful and the percussion parts really help drive them, as well as complimenting them perfectly. Very nice video, and amazing playing! It's also fascinating to hear your mix with the bandleader's ques.
You have the job I've been dreaming with since I first saw cirque du soleil, i have no words for your playing, I seriously hope to play for one of their shows, keep the excellent job that you are doing with hand percussion, i learned a lot from watching your video! Is there a way I could contact you to ask you some questions? Please forgive my broken english, greetings from venezuela.
Is the first one that Luke starts with a dembe..?If so, then that's African. Then Luke moves to a tabla, which is primarily used in indian classical music and hipsters that play jazz/fusion...Luke get back at me, I need to speak to you-oh and how is your counting past 4..? [1-2-3-4..?r really..?]
