- In this tutorial you will learn how to make a useful origami storage box with 2 tiers or levels. This box makes a great jewellery box or a big one would be nice to store make-up, stationary etc.

This box is like a toolbox that you can buy for sewing kits and other crafts like stamping, having the larger section underneath.
The top inner box is a nice tray with 2 sections which sits op top of the inner box. You can also use the origami tray instead, tutorial here: • Origami Square Tray Tu... (use same size paper)

Great tutorial!
I folded the inner box with the flaps underneath so they wouldn't show. Also, where she indicates leaving gaps, if you're using heavy paper, the gaps need to be bigger to compensate for the extra thickness.
same! for the little beads i'm putting on the inner box so that they won't get under it.

I'm kinda curious, how do you think up of the designs for these things?
Theres a few different ways, either you look at an object like a toolbox tray and think of how you would get to that result.. or you just randomly fold until something resembling something else happens, to start with it's a good idea to make a model like the masu box, and then make changes to it.. or start with one of the origami bases... hope that helps 🙂

At 12:07 through 13:11, it confuses me. Paper Kawaii, could you explain how to fold during those stages?
So at 9:32 you fold the top, bottom, left and right edges in, these will be the sides, after that you fold the diagonal creases on each corner, these will help in the next part. So the bit you're confused at is after the middle section is folded, you use the creases I mentioned before to fold up the sides of the box. So you fold the sides up, and fold along the diagonal creases. Then you fold the top sides, over the left and right sides, and then fold the left and right sides over those folds. Wow I bet that didn't help much! Maybe try folding the other tray ua-cam.com/video/Kf-WeqoLhSY/v-deo.html might help as it's a bit simpler.
