It's actually testimony to the game's balance that spam "strategies" like this are hard-countered by a combined-arms deck.
yep yep yep
Hopefully, it remains that way
Spam strategies are what makes this game bad
Notice: I do not care if people spam or cheese the game, I just want to point out that these types of players exist and might ruin the experience for a large majority of the playerbase which will reduce the playerbase and increase the percentage of cheese strategies. I just want everyone to enjoy the game.
I get it, but this is something that is ultimately on the developers to get right. As long as a strategy has efficacy, it's "legitimate" as far as the game rules are concerned. If a strategy can produce wins, then win-focused players are automatically incentivised to use it. In this case, the cheese was badly executed so it didn't matter.
The same strategy with t-55 is more effective. T--55 is only 55 points, and if youi keep recon units with them it just obliterates infantry. Which I dont get is how some tanks are cheaper than infantry, and even a transport vehicle is 20 points so yeah... Imagine being your first game in warno and getting spammed with helis, tanks or recons. Guys wont play anymore
@Hector-iq4ow hahah my 2nd multiplayer match today (played around 15 AI Skimishes first) 8 of our 10 members left the game and then we got air spammed.
Fortunately, me, the other guy, and whatever AI joined us actually ended up winning the game. I just stayed calm, used the tools at my disposal and it ended up them throwing weak units at us, while we managed to get dug in on the objectives due to their air spam.
I'm absolutely loving warno so far - I love the ambience and true 80s feel. This game is phenomenal, no spamming kid is going to stop me from using actual tactic and strategy to win matches.
Happy commanding :)
This reminds me of the T55 or T34 spam in Red Dragon. Though I think Red Dragon was more insane as the number of units could be difficult to decimate even with clusters.
yeah and they moved at cracked speeds.
Ah, reminds me of the 'old days' of European Escalation and Airland Battle .. Heli-spam and Arty Spam.
Those that did it eventually got a rep and couldn't get games with people after a while.
I totaly agree bro
Thank you for posting this. Annoys me watching people try to defend this strat. Annoys me In warno and SD2. Way to be a not smooth brain.
Wahlahi, thats what i am saying
Well played, I hate those players, specially when its a Heli/Air spam to try to snipe FSP. But I disagree when you say the idea against those players is to "hold", if you notice he bought 5 mirages, that means he doesnt have much ground units, which means you should take ground, dont need to send your infantry randomly in the open, but start pushing slowly
well yeah ofcourse dont NOT do anything but take it nice and slow and save up for a good combined force.
I am new to this game, but I have played a ton of total war. I have always played against the AI. So, this culture is new to me. That being said, figuring out strategies that win is exactly what I figure you are supposed to do.
Wouldn't covering your flank been an easy way to stop that attack? Also, Wouldn't leaving an AA unit or two your base also counter these kinds of tactics?
In other words, a tactician should consider this kind of attack, and have his vulnerabilities covered as best as possible.
The only part of this i really don't like is the player quiting the battle.
I will say, the first battle I won against the warno AI was as US airborne. I started the battle with about 12 light tanks and 3 AA helicopters. I didn't rush, I moved kinda slow. However my unit choice was to use alot of cheap gear and save my expensive gear until I needed it. That is some what similar to this guys tactic except I kept my flanks covered.
Anyways, your videos are valuable. Thank you and keep it up
it makes me think that isnt the dessert storm was just a 2-stages spamming strategy of airborne units and heavy armored units
I got heli rushed the other day and as I was trying to recover the guy had the nerve to ask why I wasn't fighting back... Maybe if 1500 points of units didn't get blown up in 30 seconds I would be.
yeah some are like that
Mahlara
I dont understand math at 6:11
This is Binomial Probability. Your "succes" is miss, so p=0.41
The calculations of B(3,0.41) = 3 gives 0.07.
So Roland has 7% of missing 3 shoots.
And for missing two shoot it gives 16%
I calculated the chance of it missing a target with 20% ECM, which reduces the accuracy of the roland down to 52%, which means that the chance of it missing 2 times in a row is roughly 23% and it missing 3 times is roughly 11%. The chance of it missing 2 times in a row against a unit with 10% ECM would indeed be 17%. mind you that i was doing this kinda with my head haha
The ECM accuracy apparently isn't direct subtraction anymore. I got confused by it too when I first got told - it's actually base accuracy*(1-ECM) now. So a roland 3 with 65% base accuracy has 52% after ECM, and after 2 shots (it doesn't have 3) has ~23% chance to miss both.
yes that is exactly what i said in the video and with 3 shots i dont mean that it can fire 3 times in one volley, no i meant 3 times of it firing in a row and for that the chance of it missing 3 times in a row is so low that it amazes me how many times it still happens.
Im happy you won but keep in mind fun is subjective. He could be having fun beating people like this. It could be a meme to him or he has fun being competitive.
Agreed, but most of the time these players just have fun for seeing someone struggle, not have fun themselves as their opponent and leaving the game and its just not a nice way to act. Also, luckily you didn't see the things he typed in the game chat. Trust me, this was a clown.
Lol. A friend dared me to make a deck of nothing but ATGM jeeps. That's literally all I had. Only used it once, just for a laugh. It was horrible. But I couldn't just leave the game.
@@rocketassistedgoat1079 Note that playing against friends is different than playing against strangers.
"Having fun" is subjective, but if someone's idea of "fun" is "making other players miserable", they have no place in an online community.
@@junibug6790 I was playing against strangers. Have you got a problem with that?
Im wondering if sending helis against this kind of rush is a good idea. I mean that they are light targets and french have some good helis against light targets but i maybe doing a mistake there. (Btw great video) 😊
not a bad idea but helicopters will quickly be countered with airplanes. Best way is to just get a combined force on the ground and move in slowly from your base. a bomber would be a better idea
I totaly agree bro
i don't think it's annoying at all, just dumb strategy. glad you were prepared
I don't like the way units stop to fire and then remain stuck there until they are either dead or their target is dead.
You can't reposisiton, your unit is stuck.
Hopefully this gets fixed.
I have to ask, and I'm not saying this applies here because it's a mirror match of 5E, but does the idea of having to be tactical and not "spam" apply to divs like KDA and TKS? I've had someone complain that I "spammed" KANJPZ (TKS has only one card, I didn't even bring half of the stack) and that I was playing unfairly against 3rd Armor who was using Abrams that require multiple KANJPZ, sometimes more than the cost of the Abrams itself, to even dent. Playing those kinds of divs which struggle to hold against the stronger frontline units almost requires a bit of "spam" lol
Why is it zoomed in?
was an error at first and i didnt notice till it went live but luckily you dont miss out too much
scummy indeed
i mean that guy is genuinely terrible at the game, and thats coming from someone who is bad lol
So what's the problem with his playstyle again? Who exactly does it bother? Maybe this IS fun for him, so what? There is no "normal" way to play any game btw. If the game allows it, it's fair. It's not that you can't counter it, right? I don't get it.
Its just frowned upon
It’s cringe and brain dead lmao anyone can do this. It’s a good way to stay bad at the game
I'm sorry but cutting off supplies and reinforcements is a viable real world strategy.... I wouldn't call it a scummy strategy just not a fun one for both parties
Yes but its a videogame. The fun factor is lost to me with these strategies. Would me helispamming the enemies spawn be considered fun? By that logic, him DDOS'ing me is also viable since its electronic warfare hahha. I really dont mind if they do this, im just afraid that these kinda players are going to ruin a lot of peoples gameplay experiences.
@@SaucyNetworkEntertainment I totally understand and agree, I will say I draw the line at DDOSing after being hit with 6 of them in a day in Wargame Red Dragon
@@SaucyNetworkEntertainmentComparing it to ddosing is a bit off. Spam rushing is part off the game, ddosing is not. If it makes people quit rather than adapt there play style, it's on them.
@thumas_ thing is, spam rushes are so easily delt with unless you're very new, so in turn that could make people just quit after the first game or worse... theyll adapt the strategy which isnt that good in the first place and wonder why they steamroll some games and get utterly decimated by anyone who can spawn clusters or art
@@thumas_also the ddos comparison was 100% a joke. But the general sentiment is right, the game was designed to be a combined arms military sim, the gameplay reflects that incredibly well, even down to the actual gameplay styles you'll see. The game simply isnt designed to be a rush simulator because sure you can steamroll a noob but as i said any amount of good group killing weapon just makes this unviable
