Not sure my computer can handle the FPS demand for this 0.6 🔥🔥🔥😅 - i mentioned to Red Z, one big question is on the diplomacy of Rome TW which I think is broken. Right now you only have « alliance » which basically in the game is equivalent to a non aggression pact. Your « ally » don’t join your war, don’t defend you when you are attacked. Basically doing alliance just means reducing the probability of your neighbors to attack you from 90% to 20%. That’s it.

I think I have might found the mod to end my quest for creating the 'perfect' game. I want the classic period, the 'simple' total war of old games, something my laptop runs and something that will just immerse me in this world. Check check double check. I think the large map is making it feel so much more like how that time period must have felt. You could basically feel king of the world in your part of the land, only to find out later that there are even bigger fish out there, from a land you must put in a lot of effort to ever reach to get in contact with them.
To add on my own comment; been playing v0.5 all day now and it’s really so satisfying to have this large map. Controlling the peninsula of Italy really feels like owning a country full of culture and life, with settlements everywhere. Also planning an attack and recruiting units from all these regions to gather feels incredibly authentic. It really makes a military campaign feel like something which is important and impactful. Interaction with close neighbours is intense, because of the high density of settlements, but encounters with a country from across the sea or mountains feel special and those natural barriers really do matter.
If anyone has NOT played this mod - just a word of caution; the further into a campaign you get each turn takes A VERY LONG time to complete. The campaign A.I and scale gives a good challenge though

@@Tarnholm Rebels in RTW and RTR have really simple AI, they take less time. Each individual faction takes a little bit extra, has to run individual CAIs (well, the old TW equivalent of a CAI).

Since there are so many more cities on the map, do you know if they lowered the campaign movement range for armies? I'd assume if not, it just ends up being a lot of city hopping and not many field battles in densely populated europe regions.
One thing they could do is lower the difficulty a bit or make it an option to not be a continuos grind so you can play in a chill way. I have tried the previous version and the A.I. has to many cheats to keep up with the amount of stacks they field in just the first few turns of the game.
@@Tarnholm bruh I did that, I play total war casually, I'm not a bad player but not that good to face those odds. The cheats that A.I. gets on the campaign is just too much.

It's because they AI switches it's armies to attack the cav and thus your cav attacks from the front. Plus any difficulty higher than medium will get the AI bonuses. (hardcoded)
This looks really interesting, but I'm worried how bad the lagging will be once they make every region controlled by actual factions. This scope is a dream come true though. I feel like this kind of scope for a medieval 2 remastered would be really amazing because you could have internal small scale wars between feudal vassal factions of France (for example) involving a handful of settlements and it wouldn't be too significant to the whole kingdom, as in Crusader Kings.
this mod is great. usually the war between rom and catargo is over in the first 20 turns or so when you are done taking over their 3 or 4 towns. now it feels like a real big war
1800 Regions is 2x what we already have ! Currently v0.5.5 Seleucid campaign I have 200 regions ( start with 90 ! ) and my PC is struggling 😁😁. V0.6 will likely kill it, never seen anyone paint the map red in this mod but what a challenge that would be. Well done RTR/RIS Team and Testers 👍👍👍👍
I’m glad the economy is fixed , I didn’t like going into debt from day one , but I love DEI but I think I will be sticking to this mod, more especially , lots of factions, lots of settlements and more realistic to defeat factions such as Epirus, CA could learn from this mod and empire 2 could do this but on global scale with so many factions and settlements
Now if they make this mod able to seamlessly span from early Rome to the late empire with the BI factions and units they can take my soul. Not sure if it’d be possible to do that though
To be honest i like this over rome 2. The graphics are amazing, bit the engine makes the combat clunky. I like rome and med for the collision. Cav charges feel heavy, but on the other hand i rome 2 i feel like units are weightless. Tried to play it, but i keep losing interest due to the battles and building system. It just feels wrong in my opinion.
I would want R2 graphics, UI and controls. Or better, Attila controls where they added in shift-pathing rather than points. Only things better with r2 battles are the modding is easier to handle with .db files (once you know how, higher learning curve for sure), and pathfinding. Still a problem, but better than RTR.
I've never had so much fun in a historical TW since the first hours of Med2TW - Italian Wars and Med2TW - 30 years wars. but those pale in comparison with this one. it is also less buggy for a mod and i can play and play and play over and over again and it is always different. 6-7 different campaigns as Macedon and always something else came different while i polished my strategy of how to deal with different factions.
Thing is snowballing at such scale is so far down the line by the time you get there you'll probably want to boot up a new campaign anyway. So I don't see it as being as much of an issue here. Plus in older games like Rome the AI can create pretty large empires for you to fight against late game
The economy has been balanced meticulously, so like Termi said its very difficult to snowball. AI spam has been reduced with the two tiered recruitment system and 2 turn recruitment :)
Is it possible to form the roman empire borders in this mod or will the lag get too bad after a certain point, because that is always my end goal for these games
If they made a mod like this for rome 2 that would be awesome. Literally the feeling when you defeat a faction in Polytopia the feeling he is talking about
Shouldn't be much more than now as it would be the same amount of cities just distributed to different factions. In fact, large factions with loads of money is what make the game slow down the most.
To the responsible people of CA/Sega (half joke, half truth) CA...hey..CA..and Sega!! Come over here. Yeees look at it. Do you understand whats happening here again? It's called passion and sweat. Yo know?! This thing which allows you to create real things. To create things which outlast. Do you remember? No? Well...i guess Cpt. Obvious was faster here... SO LOOK AT IT! And by the gods LEARN about it!! Remember whats important for developing games. And now go and do some usefull before a competitor will kick your ass to Mt. Olympus..
I have a monster pc and on trying this mod a previous time my FR dropped like a rock on the campaign map. Completely put me off from continuing to play it.
I for one don't approve of the economy in this mod, The start is a few decades before the first punic war. During the second punic war Rome (the effectively city-state, what with Hannibal running around the countryside) could regularly field full 20-30 thousand man armies (only from the city population mind) then have them entirely slaughtered by Hannibal, while consul Flavius nods head in disappointed I-told-you-so, in mod Rome can pay for upkeep of like 2 hastati and has I think 8 000 population at start. Building a road network costs about the same as recruiting one unit of non-elite, non-trash spearmen, which is only slightly higher then one turn upkeep on them, Which if I remember correctly one turn is one month. I just ended up with 8 generals bodyguard and zero units playing as the northernmost tribe in jutland, abandoned the campaign when I realized how many centuries it would take for my 600 population cities to get to tier 2 (2000 people)
Economy is probably the hardest thing to balance. We’d love to make it super realistic but we tried and it made things impossible to manage. We decided to simplify instead and take a gameplay over realism approach. Just an fyi We have not touched anything regarding Jutland other than adding a few more regions so we can honestly say that it could possibly be unbalanced for sure and a Cimbri campaign might make you rage quit lol
@@ahowl1136 honestly it is doable, I just would have to rush south for a neutral tier two town, it's just I didn't know about it at first so I just conquered neighbors one by one and it was taken by saxons a turn before me. Cimbri are doable just cities that start tier one will take way to long to get out of it.
Whenever we get to the Germanic factions it will be a bit more engaging and worthy of play time. With such a huge scale it’s important that we divide the work into cultural chunks
Might be an unpopular opinion, but this shit ton of regions will just exponentially increase the number of siege battles, making the game more samey. Also, settlement management will have to be given to the inefficient Ai, or the player will have to tediously micro it. Honestly, I fail to see the point of so many settlements and am more turned off than on by their number
We have addressed this multiple times in the past year and a half. It’s a non-issue from all who have played and tested. Take a chance and you’ll see that it’s not an issue at all
Yeah it just looks like work. Greece looks like work more than fun. I don’t get why these really talented mod creators always do the most ridiculous shit like giving you 1000 colour swapped versions of levy spearmen or line infantry or just bloat the mod with huge amount of cities that do nothing more than make you do more sieges. I really see no benefit to the cities, it’s complete overkill. Give a massive map but with spaced out settlements that encourages siege battles and actual campaigning not just island hopping from city to city
I think the current ( soon to jump greatly ) 45K Subscribers to this mod will be blown away once they get their hands on it . I've been happily playing it since say 1. Sadly won't be anywhere near a computer this weekend to play it 😬😬

if the game still has the amazons easter egg rebel faction in there to take then it should be there for the mod etc.
Very nice
Jaw dropping achievement by the modding team
so many mods! EB, EB 2, Roma Insurrectum, Rome Total realism + others
the things like supply etc. you mentioned, does it affect a.i.?
Doubt that it does
As in every Total War game, the AI is dumb, so it barely affects it.
Now if they make this mod able to seamlessly span from early Rome to the late empire with the BI factions and units they can take my soul. Not sure if it’d be possible to do that though
Also, @TheTerminatorGaming, the term is pronounced 'anCillary', not 'anKillary'. 😆
Just imagine this huge map and historical accuracy with Rome 2 graphics and battles 😢😢
Rome 2 battles? Those were among the worst in the series lol, even vanilla Rome 1 has far superior battles.
why all mods in rome or atilla they don't add china ?
I can only think of how exhausting is to move troops and battle so many battles just to do something meaningful.
You know. There is some fun too with that Gaul, Iberia, Britannia emptyness. Like you can build your own empire.
Played it and really loved it.
Has anyone else's game been crashing on launch with this mod? I havent been able to play it since it keeps crashing
Would people say this mod or Europa Barbarorum is the better? Can`t decide on which to play.
This is what i hoped Rome 2 would be 😢
What's the turn times like?
They’re longer than usual, maybe a couple of minutes tops
@@TheTerminatorGaming cheers buddy, keep up the good work 👊
Weird that your turn times are so long@@TheTerminatorGaming, I think most people have turn times aroud 25-35 seconds on the 0.6 beta/DEV.
Should be around 30-45 seconds if one has it installed on an SSD and got a somewhat modern desktop cpu.@@TheTerminatorGaming
@Tarnholm yeah may just be me then as I said in the video
Gonna play Rome 1 again for this mod alone
I've never had so much fun in a historical TW since the first hours of Med2TW - Italian Wars and Med2TW - 30 years wars. but those pale in comparison with this one. it is also less buggy for a mod and i can play and play and play over and over again and it is always different. 6-7 different campaigns as Macedon and always something else came different while i polished my strategy of how to deal with different factions.
is the mod available for normal rome1?, cuz i dont think im getting a remaster
Is there a limit to the engine for how many factions can be implemented?
almost makes me want to buy rome remastered
How is the world map and battle map AI behavior?
how they will stop snowballing or massive microing ? Or even worse ai spam of units ?
Thing is snowballing at such scale is so far down the line by the time you get there you'll probably want to boot up a new campaign anyway. So I don't see it as being as much of an issue here. Plus in older games like Rome the AI can create pretty large empires for you to fight against late game
The economy has been balanced meticulously, so like Termi said its very difficult to snowball. AI spam has been reduced with the two tiered recruitment system and 2 turn recruitment :)
Is it possible to form the roman empire borders in this mod or will the lag get too bad after a certain point, because that is always my end goal for these games
I hate being one of those guys... But man... Why can't CA make a campaign like this
Kinda sad its for the Remastered version only, is there anything for the original game?
Not that I’m aware of
Roma surrectum and Europa barbarorum are excellent
Feral unlocked a lot in the engine for RR so this would not be possible with the old games. It's well worth a purchase!
If they made a mod like this for rome 2 that would be awesome.
Literally the feeling when you defeat a faction in Polytopia the feeling he is talking about
Probably the closest we will get is DEI, without campaign mapping tools not much can be done .
How long will the player have to wait for his turn when this huge map will be filled with so many more factions?
Good question 👍
Shouldn't be much more than now as it would be the same amount of cities just distributed to different factions. In fact, large factions with loads of money is what make the game slow down the most.
Can anyone tell me how to move the entire army formation without this one breaking the formation i set up
Any graphics update?
To the responsible people of CA/Sega (half joke, half truth)
CA...hey..CA..and Sega!!
Should I play vanilla for awhile first? Or just start playing with the mod. I’m played lots of other total wars.
Always try vanilla first in my opinion
@@TheTerminatorGaming Thank you
This looks amazing, really wish it was in the rome 2/attilla campaign engine though
Question: Do they remove bronze age army look about egypt?
Yes, it's Ptolemaic Egypt time, though there is an emergent native egyptian revolt faction.
This mod will work only on rome remastered?
Yes
Yes.
so i never bought rome remastered but its crazy how a mod can sell you on a game an how much CA tried to stop modding
Roma Surrectum won't work with steam version so I pass this one, started DEI on Rome2
This is not Roma Surrectum and it's also not for the same game. This is for Rome Remastered. :)
@@Tarnholm Alright!
I for one don't approve of the economy in this mod,
The start is a few decades before the first punic war.
Building a road network costs about the same as recruiting one unit of non-elite, non-trash spearmen, which is only slightly higher then one turn upkeep on them,
Which if I remember correctly one turn is one month.
If can we play this with hotseat manuel battles...
This mod seem better than Pharaoh Total War (JK) maybe i'll play it.
The only thing that I hate about this mod is that it is not possible to make it in Med2. What a fucking masterpiece.
You know it is good when it laggs.
@@mullerreus145 well, maybe the mod isn't for you then, but it certainly is for everyone else.
I think the current ( soon to jump greatly ) 45K Subscribers to this mod will be blown away once they get their hands on it . I've been happily playing it since say 1. Sadly won't be anywhere near a computer this weekend to play it 😬😬
@@Tu141 strange reply
