I'm 72, and I remember my Grandmother gave us her aluminum tree way back in 1966 with the wheel. I don't know what happened to it. In 1995, I bought a light wheel at a yard sale for $5, and found a medium sized aluminum tree in their original box, at an antique store for $30!
I have some of the flocked and vintage ornaments from my mom. They're getting a little sad and tattered, but I love them! We also have an Elf similar to a bended knee, but he has stiff legs. He has gone on top of my mom's tree for over 50 years. His name is Elfie!
One of my earliest Christmas memories was the silver tree and color wheel in the house across the tree. That would have been prior t960 till I left home after college.i had wondered all those years why they couldn't or wouldn't get a real tree like everyone else in our small town. Now I'm glad I could see that all those years. I've had the celluloid snowman with black hat my entire life and bought two more online this year. What you call mid-century and vintage is my life. I just turned 69 a week ago.
Some people would take a lifetime to put that collection together. I’m amazed how pristine your ceramic pieces are. I dearly love your entire collection and your display. Merry Christmas 🎄

On the pom-pom tree my parents used to put tons of tinsel all over and of course ornaments afterwards and I’ll tell you that the tinsel really made it absolutely 300% more beautiful. I know it all has to be pulled off at the end but it’s so worth it and that’s a day where you just drink your wonderful cup of coffee and just take your time and it comes off very easily. Just a suggestion and some thing I would absolutely love to see and haven’t seen anyone do it since the 1970s. Again thank you for always making everything so beautiful and making people happy.🎄🎄🎄❤️
Your collection is amazing!! The aluminum tree is fabulous. The only thing I would add would be vintage tree toppers on both trees and some small red candles in those candle holders but obviously not to be burned. Those beautiful mercury glass toppers would be perfect for the aluminum tree and you could use a larger elve (even new) to the green tree and attach him with a ribbon to the top and maybe tie a bow. That way he blends with the others but is larger like a tree topper should be. Yall are both great and I love your videos. I can't wait till the next one! Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 and a Happy New Year!! 😊
It's too damaging to an aluminum tree branch to try and put a topper on it.....usually I just "crown" mine with a large round bulb as close to the top as I can manage.
As a child we had an aluminum tree (can’t remember if it had pom poms), but my Mom kept it in the original box with the sleeve branches & of course the color wheel. Probably bought it for $5-7 back in the 60’s. Unfortunately it was thrown away when mom upgraded to a green artificial tree! If only I knew then, I would have kept it. 😢 I also have a stuffed Santa about 14-15 “ with corduroy suit, place face, hands, & boots. I still do have it to this day. It has to be 60 yrs. old! Many years ago my son got made at me & scribbled on his face w/permanent black marker. Hubby tried to clean it up before I got home, but…I cried & cried over my Santa. My son felt so bad after seeing me cry. It is one of my precious things that i own.

What can I say…. BEAUTIFUL!!!! I actually have an aluminum Christmas tree that I bought about 2 years ago but my apartment is to small for it but we may be buying a home in the spring so if we do that bad boy will be out for next year!! Just a tip: if you have always dreamt of having an aluminum tree an option is how I got mine. I got it for a really good deal at an antique store but I did put it on layaway and paid a little at a time which allowed me to get my dream tree 💚 ❤️🎅🏻🤍🎄🤍🤶🏻🎁💚❤️

I was wondering if you decorated it all in the kitchen? May be kind of weird, but where I live in Maryland I haven’t been able to find hardly any vintage stuff and I really can’t afford the antique malls. She got both at LSAyers in Indianapolis Indiana. I wish I could find one of those today. I was 8 at the time. I’m 73 now. Thank you for your channel.
