i love how simple you’re videos are and how you show so much footage of what you’re actually seeing. you also give such great in-depth advice and ways to organise a trip better. your videos have been really helpful to me. thank you :)
Thanks for this vlog. I'm going to Switzerland on the first week of June 2023, just thinking of the weather and the sceneries during this time, feel relieved after watched your video. Hopefully the weather will be like this next year.
Switzerland is indeed the most beautiful country to visit..I’ve been there twice and im still in love with it and probably will be coming back soon…thanks for aharing your joy with us my new friend…
You did a very good job explaining what the costs were. Switzerland is expensive. I take 70 per cent more with me on these trips. I went last August and I plan to go back late June to early July. Thank You!
hi leesa love your videos! watched your amsterdam ones before i traveled to the NL and now im watching your switzerland ones before i visit there too! thank you XX
@@ems9097 It depends on time of day + where you go! Was definitely too cold to go swimming. During the day it was quite warm, but I did still bring a sweater and jacket for early mornings/evenings. Also if you're going to the mountains then it gets very cold, so definitely bring an extra layer if that's what you plan to do! But if you're planning to go in August/Sept then the weather will be totally different :)
Schilthorn is absolutely stunning - even on a partially clear day like what we had! Make sure to check the cameras beforehand. Hope you make it to Switzerland to see it for yourself! 😍
Hi Lisa, it’s nice to watching you talking on my iPad😍… this vlog is very good and tips are very helpful 👍. I am leaving for Switzerland next week for 3 weeks and planning to stay 4 nights in Wengen and 3 nights in Interlaken, then visit the other parts of the country… thank you for the tips. Hope to see you soon when you back to AU. Say hi to Gus😊 Helen
Wow that's awesome! Hope you have the BEST time in Switzerland. You are visiting all the best places. I wish we could have stayed for longer. 4 days is not enough to cover this magical country. See you when I'm back in Sydney in Christmas!!
15:34 I thought as long as we’ve bought the half fare card then we can enjoy the half fare costs. Even I’m a tourist I can still enjoy the half fare costs of all the SBB train rides in Switzerland. Besides that, I would suggest you to buy Berner Oberland Pass + HFC instead of buying Swiss Travel Pass. 🤔
The goid thing about Swiss travel Pass u can travel in the whole Swiss Country plus you get 50% for Sommer Gondola that is not free with your Swiss Pass. The Negative about Swiss Pass is its realy expensive i paid 400€ for swiss travel Pass for 6 Day's and i think that is way it expensive. But nxtime i know better when i ho back to Swiss . Switzerland is a very Expensive Place to Travel the Hotels are very expensive 140franken a Night even Hotels Costs 80franken plus eating out is also very expensive.
Very helpful! Thank you for the breakdown on your itinerary spreadsheet. I will arrive in Geneva, stay in the hotel, then head out to Interlaken the next day. I am only there for 3 days and would like to take the Gondola up, the boat cruise, as well as visit the nearby cities. Which train pass do you suggest to get the most bang for my buck?
Hi, great video. thanks for sharing. PS: for the Jungfrau region (Interlaken) you can also use the regional pass Berner Oberland and for the region around the Vierwaldstättersee (Lucerne) the so-called Tell Pass. Its maybe much cheaper, depends of your plannings
Hi, I will arrive in Geneva, stay in the hotel, then head out to Interlaken the next day. I am only there for 3 days and would like to take the Gondola up to the towns up top, the boat cruise, as well as visit the nearby cities. Which train pass(es) do you suggest to get the most bang for my buck? There are so many and I'm on a tight budget. Thank you!
@@ToladetteKem Hi, it also depends a little on when you will go. So is for the Berneroberland Pass, season starts on 1th of April. I would first recommend to take the regular trains from Geneva to Montreaux. There you buy the pass and go to Interlaken with the GPX train. From Montreaux to Gstaad for half price. From Gstaad to Interlaken free of charge. (By the way, the GPX is one of the first trains in the world that can run on 2 different gauges) In the pass, the boats on Lake Brienz and Lake Thun are included. Jungfraujoch? Possible, but with surcharge (expensive). Bad weather? Do you already know the Tümmelbachfälle? Would you like to go on to Lucerne (Lake Lucerne)? That is also included in the pass.
Having lived in Den Haag (The Hague) for a few years, I can appreciate the mess that Schiphol was back in 2022. It's eased quite a bit but lines for security and passport control can still be long at certain times - not like what is shown in this video, however!
Hi. Upon watching your vlog, i thought of adding Schilthorn in our itinerary. We will visit Interlaken , Lucerne and Zurich for 4 days. I thought of putting Lucerne as half when we arrive from Italy so we can have full day to visit Schilthorn. Any tips or advice ? We do have our lugagges with us as we need to check out early on Oct 20 for this Schilthorn before leaving for Zurich..
Hey there! Nice to hear you felt inspired after watching my vlog :) Just make sure the weather is OK before you go all the way to Schilthorn, and check the cameras to see what the visibility is like (I talk about that issue at the end of my video). I'm not sure how the weather will be towards end of October. If it's possible for you, I would keep plans flexible so that if the weather isn't good, you can still do something else nearby (e.g. Lauterbrunnen or Wengen). Time-wise, we spent 1 day visiting Schilthorn, Wengen and Lauterbrunnen in case this helps you determine how much time you need for each destination.
We went in late June :) I just looked it up and it seems like it will be a very nice time to visit Switzerland but just quite a lot colder (obviously as it's right after winter). I'm sure you'll have a very nice time there!
I guess it depends how deep into the wilderness your hike is! Ours were all paved paths and still near people’s homes etc, so we did not see any dangerous animals!!
Hello! Do you recommend it that we make Lauterbrunnen our base instead of interlaken? we're gonna visit interlaken as a day trip then train to Lauterbrunnen and check-in at a hotel there to do schilltorn the next day? thanks!
So exciting! Lauterbrunnen has more of a small cute town feel. I think Lauterbrunnen is a bit more special than Interlaken too. So good decision! Have a good time :)
We got the Swiss Travel Pass, so didn't need to count how much it all cost. If you watch until the end of the video, I talk about how you can calculate potential cost of train journeys in Switzerland. Also my itinerary (which is in the description) tells you how much it would have been if we didn't have the Swiss Travel Pass.
It will cover some travel expenses but not all. It covers all train fares, and sometimes 100% of ticket prices but sometimes just partial cover. You have to look up each place individually to find out.

Hello...How much did you spend per day for the whole itinerary... Could you have a breakdown for future travelers? 😊 Thank you!
We spent about 250 EUR per day as a couple (including accommodation, which is the most expensive part)
