    Hey Johnny! I'm lefty. Opossite side works for me. Examples: Left leg turn 45° to the left, right hook. Right leg step to the right, left cross. What do you think buddy? Thank You very much for your knowledge!

      Yes, those are legit patterns as well. Great for shifting, passing-through style of footwork.

    Nice haircut :) Great video on slipping and countering! Being able to slip and counter subtly lets you toy with opponents...while they're still conscious.

    Hey Johnny, I've been following your UA-cam and website religiously for a few years now, I'm sure it's been mentioned before but, you had an amateur career, correct? I'm just wondering what your win/loss ratio was. Just out of curiosity

      Hi Chase, thanks for the support. You can read all that on my website. I hate answering the same question here so I figure if people want to know...they can look it up.

    Jake La Mottas style is the bully style where you put your hands up at chest height and sacrifice heavy blows to land your own shots while pressing and making yourself shorter / this style works most effective against tall guys it's very similar to the peek a boo stance this is recommended for aggressive brawlers thank you.

      expertboxing I've come across a few of your videos, and have noticed that whenever someone asks you to post a highlight reel, you always say the same thing. like in this video "Advanced Slipping Technique, PART 2 - Body Movement" posted a month ago. These videos are really bad man.

    • @expertboxing
      @expertboxing  10 років тому +1

      leshark Unless somebody is going to pay me to dig through my old hard drives (and manually connect them to my computer using a sata-to-usb dongle) and copy the footage all to one computer and then sit there with my editing program and rewatch all my old videos, and cut together all my favorite moves, punches, and slips (while removing the rest periods, and stupid moments where both of us are just posturing, also ignoring the videos that turned out to be too blurry)....I'm not going to be inspired to do it. (I have over 100 recorded sparring videos). In the same time that it takes for me to edit a highlight reel of my sparring, I could have easily recorded and posted 100 instructional youtube videos (each only take a few minutes to make) and those videos would be far more helpful to the community and earn more ad revenue for me on UA-cam.
      If you're in LA or SF, you're welcome to come meet me personally and I'll be happy to bring along some videos on you to watch on a laptop if you're seriously that desperate to see it. But I'm not going to spend a couple weeks of my free time rummaging through my storage and editing a video just because some fans want to see me in the ring. Amazingly enough...many of these people are too lazy to search the word "sparring" on my channel to see that I DID put up 2 small clips of my old sparring footage.
      And another thing I've noticed is...the people who most want to see me spar either fit into one of two categories: 1) they're total beginners who are impressed by anything and are already dedicated to watching my videos regardless of whether or not I show sparring footage. 2) they're guys who think they're better than me (and probably everyone else) and in which case aren't the target demographic of viewers that I cater to. I wouldn't care to appease them as I don't need their condescending and critiquing attitudes on my channel.

    Hey can anyone help me to get faster at slipping and countering quicker? Cuz as soon as I slip the punch my opponent has already brought back his hand so I can't hit him easily. Is there any drills or something I should do?

    • @expertboxing
      @expertboxing  10 років тому

      That's why you gotta hit right when you slip. Don't slip and THEN counter, that's too slow. For drills, use mitts.

    Haha, what's all this about the hair?! I personally like the way that you don't have to look like a bulldog chewing a wasp to be a good fighter! Look at De la Hoya, Mayweather, Martinez... They all look more like models than boxers but can kick some serious ass!
