I learned so much from Dr Knife by just listening. He did a great job communicating. Having served in the public sector for over 25 years, I believe we have to move beyond the agenda of a few individuals to the people's agenda. There is a need for greater transparency and accountability. Dr Knife sums it up in one word for me the HEART that's needed, we have the other ingredients. What are our values and how are we led by them? This was inspiring. Let's see what we can take from this and action.

Dr Knife... I have to meditate more on your commentary... but I have listened to a little more than half of the reasoning... I will complete at some point but I find that you are putting the cart before the horse. I submit that it is not the institutions that need the urgent investment... it is the people's THINKING that requires the most urgent investment! Also what is the investment necessary? Our people need to understand primarily that we have worth; that we are stronger together than apart; that we can accomplish what we desire ONLY if we organise ourselves fundamentally FOR THE PURPOSE of advancing our own interests, respecting Europe and their accomplishments, while remembering that they have done to us what they have done. To prove to ourselves and our people that we can do what we need to do is accomplished by exampling small groups of persons achieving a variety of specific goals in set times. As a people we will follow where we see others like us succeeding... but the FOCUS MUST PRIMARILY be on ourselves (collectively before but while individually)... how we live with each other; encouraging each other... reaping the public benefit of cooperation not Euro-styled confrontation... growing the tree - FIRST understanding the root... then we can better utilise institutions to mass produce the gains individuals make... YES! we are Human but we are NOT Europeans whose system-assumption is that each has a (so-called) rational profit centered motive... In God's Glory Humans exhibit variety as in ALL creation! We are Africans with an internal GPS to link-up not as individuals 'shining our own shoe' but as a strong chain protecting our weakest links. We are (like the European) a unique variety of HUMAN. We have nowhere going if we don't know who we are FIRST and FOREMOST! LOVE still!!

Bredda knife, Jamaica has too many social services running on a frail economy. We need to shrink the government and reduce government strangle hold on private business. These social services have become politicised, which they are used as a means or tool of exploiting the people and gaining political mileage. We need to re-evalute or assess these institutions, to conclude on there soundness and see if they are fitting to our presently reality. Tourism sector needs a shake up where more of its earning are retained and circulated within the local economy. Great points mi bredda big up yourself.

So Dr. Knife. Based on your explanation of underfunding to the entities that can strengthen the backbone of Jamaica. Would you say it is farfetched to hold the view that the underfunding is deliberate and more along the lines that Cuba Haiti and Jamaica would be real power houses if left alone to thrive and just as it is obvious the Sabotage of Haiti the Governance of Jamaica are on a deliberate path to maintaining the non development of Jamaica just as in Africa ???

That is definitely the case in the Haitian context - however currently our own leaders hold a Neo- liberalist colonial mindset - they think that foreign direct investment by enslavers will build the economies- this has been shown to be foolishness over the last 7 decades - enslave minds can’t serve free people… but again you are correct the geo-politics is very real and these countries are deliberately held back - Jamica in particular due to position and influence from enslavement until now

@@kadamaweknife1807 Love the reasoning My Learned Brother. Keep Up the Teaching. I will try to maintain my disquiet from the sidelines as I watch these big cruise ships they have parked on all the beaches and call them Hotels whilst they deny access to the beach with the backing of an opportunistic law. I said once a Government that loved Jamaicans would have a least tried to steal the Model of Riu and build a hotel and sell shares that Jamaicans could invest in and both investors and workers would have a vested interest in Tourism as they would have to make their hotel work. Then we wouldn't be watching all these Spaniards milking the tourism industry. But I can't blame them as the Government allows it under the banner of foreign investment when its obvious they are just shareholders in the foreign invasion. Like how are you going to lease out your two main Airports and watch the Mexicans make profits of billions and pay you millions for the benefit of making billions and you look your people in the face and call it success ? And then telling people you want to make a court international Airport in Negril when you have already proven they cannot run airports or airlines nor do they seem to understand any sort of business that benefits others over themselves. Dont even mek mi start non the roads and tolls. Jamaica should have had a modern tram system ( light rail system ) in the corporate areas. Anyway mek mi shut up. Mi love the way you explain yu thing. Not a lover of Seaga or any Politician other than Manley. Micheal mi ah talk. Norman and Busta sold us... Anyway... Its just heartbreaking the Potential of this little Island. Jamaica and the Caribbean at large must create and protect their own food secure to build and secure a sustainable economy able to feed their people and keep them healthy in a cost affordable way. Also refrigeration cold storages can keep food safe frozen and fresh even when out of seasons they can still have access to fresh food as frozen foods .When put in boiling water and cook you have all the goodness locked when picked and frozen ready to eat That is how we do it overseas.

Solar drying, salting, fermenting, pickling and preserves would be better food sustainability investments for Jamaica than freezing or freeze drying. Anything heavily energy dependent with increased demand on electricity will have uncontrollable foreign input costs.. This will make the preserved surplus of food too expensive.
