What's your ideal day out? Comment below 👇👇👇
Just going for a drive around the mountains
We usely go out on a Sunday with a picnic and find a park to eat
Also just going for a coffee somewhere is just the best
Sun rise and sun set at my place, with no work in between. And always out(side). Look forward to more vids, thanks.
Having a Picnic on the Noosa river at Noosaville, plenty of grass, sand and great eatery’s. You too would bloody well love!!
We are an easy nation. If you embrace us we love you back. Enjoy OZ ❤
Happy Days to U 2 . . . and welcome to Aussieland! I emmigrated to Aus 39yr ago with my Wife and 2 kids from Glasgow, Scotland - have managed to travel quite a bit of Aus and live in Tasmania and TOTALLY luv it here the lifestyle is what makes this a great place to live (and bring up children) IMO - Have watched your videos and hope you make the life you are after - missing family is hard I admit but you do get over that . . . hope you enjoy Aus as much as we have - and wishing you all the very best!!
Thank you 😃 The lifestyle is great and definitely a great place for kids!
How is it working on the beach barefoot
Kept waiting for that fleece to come off and a bright new summer T-shirt to go on.
Maybe next time 😂
sunrise with some cloud is perfect - sunrise with a clear sky is ok
A mix is definitely the best blend, some beautiful patterns ☀️⛅️
Enjoy your new lives in Australia
Thank you 😃
Mike should get a surfboard. It's great fun when you can stand up 🏄♂️
Definitely on the todo list! 📋 ✅
Sunrise on the beach. A stroll. A swim. Retail therapy in Kmart. Home to double kitties. Aah, life in the Great South Land. It's tough, but somebody has to do it.
Shh! Keep it a secret.
Always enjoyable for us Aussies to watch people's reactions to our country and our lifestyle 😊
Great to see you two getting into the healthy and laid back lifestyle here compared to your "normal" life back in the UK.
Don't be surprised if you both lose a few kilos after a few months of enjoying our great outdoors 👍🇭🇲
Thank you, it’s a beautiful way of life!
It's always interesting seeing the familiar through someone else's eyes. Alexandra Headlands is great for sunrises especially when the water is full of surfers. The beach at Warana (next to Kawana) is gorgeous and almost deserted. I love Currimundi Beach - it's a different vibe when you have a lake that almost breaks through to the ocean. Also Mary Cairncross Park overlooks the remnants of the Sunshine Coast's extinct volcanoes. After rain, Kondalilla Falls can be gorgeous and the walk is not that difficult. And Eumundi Markets aren't that far away - in Australian terms. 🙂 The heat starts in a month!
The East Coast does have some spectacular sun rises, but nothing beats the sunsets in the West. And we don't have to get up early to see them. Welcome, and enjoy Australia.
Sunrise, sunsets over water, out in the bush, up in the mountains, east and west coast, we get lots of good ones.
Hard to imagine there could be any bad ones tbh 🌅
My place is north facing over water, so I get to see the effects of both for a large chunk of the year. Never gets old.
Welcome to the Sunshine Coast. Are you living in Caloundra? We live in Caloundra West, but are much older than you. I came to Australia in 1952 as an 8 year old, and give thanks to my parents for their foresight in deciding to move here. You will find life is very relaxing here, but you may find it a bit trying when the summer arrives and the humidity increases. All the best to you both.
I’m so glad that you’re enjoying Australia. Just wait until the heat hits 😅
Awhhhh- You two!! 🩷
Gotta love a Kmart haul
You guys look like you are really settling in. I have been here since 98 from the UK and I still think I'm on holiday sometimes. First in Sydney, but the last 20 years in Brisbane.
Queensland is one of the most laid back and friendly of the states, and has the best weather.
Queenslanders have no Daylight saving, so we are used to starting the day early. Don't forget at the end of this month that the UK will be 10 hours back and not 9 as it is atm.
If you are stuck for work up there, Brisbane has plenty. Unfortunately, since Covid it has suffered just as the rest of the World has with increased rent and food prices.
Absolutely love your enthusiasm! Australia and it's fantastic lifestyle has been kept a secret from the UK..lol..Don't tell your Pommie Mates..
That's awesome, we hope to never lose that feeling!
against the law to wear shoes on the beach 😀, pumicestone passage is so good for kayaks or stand up paddle boards, very safe
Haha, they didn’t stay on for very long
Welcome to beautiful Caloundra & Bulcock Beach folks - we have a unit opposite Bulcock Beach and know just how great life on the Sunshine Coast is - happy days folks
That awesome, what a great location to live!
It’s not hot. Boy are you guys in for a shock 🤣😂🤣😂
Enjoying your videos. I have a weekender beach front on Scarborough Beach. It’s right now 4:30 am. The light is just peaking on the Horizon. The water sounds lovely and the birds are already chirping. I love the Redcliffe Peninsula, it’s a bit of a hidden secret but based on the prices now, I think the secret is out. 😀
I love that you brought your cats over with you! ❤
This may or may not be what our next video is about 👀
@@teresamikedownunder To me it wouldn’t have been a hard decision to make because I would never leave my animals anywhere but with me… but I understand to others it might have been hard. I truly respect you because despite how hard it would have been for you to arrange and for them to adjust, you took the hard road and moved them to Australia with you! They look happy, you look happy and that makes me happy! Welcome to Australia! I live in Hervey Bay…just a couple of hundred kilometres up the road from… so I totally understand your need for new lifestyle change. Enjoy!
Thank you that's so kind! We can't wait to explore there and also visit K'gari!
Depends, do you have a 4WD vehicle? The Noosa / Noosaville area is great place for a day visit, Gympie Terrace has some nice places to eat and the Boat House a floating restaurant does a smashing lunch. You can also get the Ferry from Tewantin Marina to Noosa or go on the car ferry to Noosa North Shore to see the Cooloola Coast beaches. What ever you do bring the Aeroguard and suntan lotion (slip, slip, slap) Take care and welcome to a great part of Australia 🇦🇺
Great suggestions! Unfortunately we don't have a 4WD but maybe one day!
Shout out to your Mum sending the lovely card. As a mum with kids your age I know how hard it would be for her. My girls married boys from South Africa and Kent England who have both lived here for a while so I feel very fortunate. Ps it will get much hotter and humid 😅
You both look happy in Australia.
Aw how gorgeous are these two ☺️
Mount Coot-Tha look out over looking Brisbane...! We're x-Victorians (a bit like the UK ), now firmly implanted in Brisbane by the bay..., love it...
What's your favourite part?
@@teresamikedownunder - the weather! You guys touched on it as well..., we get out more, you feel compelled to go out, just walking. The funniest experience I had was it rained one day (droplets the size of golf balls, absolutely soaked), I was caught out but..., it was still warm! In Melbourne you'd turn into frosty the snowman... 🙂
Contraption = Bonfire set up. 😂
With fire warnings you couldn’t light it. Lots of places in Western Australia that you can though (when there’s no fire warning) ‼️
Glad to see you guys wearing rashies. Sunburn and skin cancer is usually the last thing newbies consider but it’s a true issue in Australia. The sun is different here. Overcast days you still should have cover/ sunscreen.
It’s just a driftwood teepee. Kids make them.
I was visiting my granddaughter in Hong Kong and she told me she would much rather live in Australia. When I asked her why she said...because you have Kmart! 😆
Kmart is great 😂
You need to go to Point Cartwright to see the whales. You can see from there often during the migration season. Welcome to the Sunny Coast. Very odd to see your backyard on UA-cam!
I've lived at Kings Beach. Now back in Brisbane. Still holiday there.
Did you move for work?
Welcome down under - hope you come visit us in South Oz...the state of wine & roses!
We hope so too!
Crying at the screenshots 🤣🤣
Welcome to Australia. Caloundra is a top spot. I played there as a small boy. Love it there. Look out for the ships sailing past to and from Brisbane. They come in really close there following the shipping channel. Don't forget to use plenty of 50+ sunscreen. Australians never refer to the UK or USA as "Up Over".
Love your videos ❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
It looks lovely we are missing u it’s Elsie Heath xxxx❤❤❤❤
Mike for scale inside the bonfire 😜
Tia for scale?
Will be there in January
Get to BCF and buy my guy a fishing rod 👌 it's the perfect way to watch the sunrise dropping a line in. Free food.
Loving your adventure
Good idea! It's definitely on our to do list.
Don't get complacent, while we don't usually get very high temperatures (ie 40 degrees) in SEQ, the humidity is coming. You'll learn that you can cope.
We're bracing for it!
There is a cloud bank off the east coast of Australia every day. Has been so for forever I think.
Welcome to Oz.
The screenshots 🤣🤣🤣
Omg you’re so funny and pretty
These is Queensland every day sometime cloudy but mostly fine I think we get about 30 to 40 a year rain if you went around aust to stop at one beach a day you want to be here for a while it would take about 30 years to visit each beach 1day at a time
Love that statistic!
Best chance of finding kangaroo are around buderim area
You will find Kangaroos in our national parks and not in our cities unless there is natural bushland .The heat is different in the UK where you live because you are near the beach . London May feel muggy because it has a high concentration of people , so you will feel it . However our sun in OZ is strong and on a hot day it feels like the sun is biting your skin . You also don’t use air conditioning much in the UK and your houses have double insulation , so you will feel it more . Anyway , there is no need to compare , just enjoy where you are right now .
Best sunsets in WA
Have you explained the flags on the beach ? Really important. Many of the people drowned because they swam outside the flags are tourists
on the east coast of Australia u are not going to see a SUNSET over the water, and all beaches on the east coast will give u a pretty sunrise
Use look like use ar after love on the beach.
We know we how to do it on a beach.😅
You know that when you're whinging about the quality of Australian sunrises that you are legitimately English.
Whinging? 🤣
Whales? You need some height. Try Noosa, Coolum or Alex Heads. Please remember that most of us do not live at the beach. Most of us are city-dwellers, but you are correct that life is better in Oz. Oz life expectancy is 83.3, compared to UK 80.7. There has to be a reason for the difference!! Get a job, pay taxes and join us. The culture shock when you visit UK later will redefine the word shock.
We did manage to see some breaching between Alex and Mooloolaba!
We are trying to keep aus a secret
I’ve seen worse dog houses 😂
Haha!
Wearing a HAT indoors made me Laugh, you won't get Sunstroke Indoors....
Will be mistaken for a Murican
