I have a galley kitchen, and the only place I can place my wall oven will be against one of the end walls, preferably the one nearest the dining room. I'm setting the wall oven at a height that will allow a split-level countertop at about 48 inches above the floor, small electrics on the high countertop, and a wall cabinet to the ceiling.

If possible, avoid cabinets over a countertop.
Instead use vertical (floor to ceiling) kitchen cabinets.
Vertical cabinets at corners can support heavy objects with ease since they stand on the floor with support from two walls, and it promotes an open atmosphere in the kitchen.

I really liked IKEAs kitchens and ordered one in Oct 2021 for a home renovation. They took full payment but they have missed delivery deadlines and still haven't delivered the whole kitchen to me over 6 months later. It has been a nightmare to deal with and has severely delayed our renovation and led to delay and other costs.

The IKEA planner makes it really hard to make a kitchen with openings on both ends, a hallway like kitchen. The only plan I could use with this is the open room solution, but even then it's a U shape. How do I make a kitchen like mine? It has doors on both ends, and one wall is longer than the other.

I find moving back and forth and having to turn arouns all the time is disconcerting. And appliances, stovetops and sinks in an island are a mistake. A clear island can be used for dining and work projects.

Start by going anywhere but IKEA. Done.
Their kitchens are fantastic and found in nice homes. You can pay twice the price elsewhere and not find half the quality or features.

Good video, but Ikea kitchens are absolutely awful to fit. No voids at the back, no unit adjustment, tiny furniture feet on the units etc. Shame they have to do the opposite to every other company
