Have you considered changing the scoring system?
For example, 2 Points for every elimination with your Team Leader, 1 for an elimination with any other team member, and a Bonus 3 points if you sweep your opponents team without switching out? (This counts for any character at any point in the game. As long as one character defeats all 3 of their opponents without leaving the field.)
