Funny - I had no idea this helmet has been around for so long. Got off Amazon for 75$ Fits great and super light and comfortable - Sun glass grips work with glasses that have the rubber adhesive sides on stems / arms. Solid plastic stems / arms do not hold
1:31 "the clips are removable" Yeah wanna tell us how? I've never been able to take them off, I always feel like I'm about to tear the helmet in half. I don't want to remove them if it's a one and done process.
Instructions that come with the helmet aren't very useful. How do you remove the glasses holders mine wont budge and it feels like im going to break them? In the vid they just pop off!
I was at Tamarancho riding Endor (aka the flow trail) with the Oakley guys, Redbull, and Greg and his girlfriend for the Oakley helmet thing and it was dope. P.S. Oakley bring him back
I currently own this helmet and while it's a nice design it does not live up to its $200 price tag. The BOA concept is an interesting design but an application it has a problem. The two strings on both sides of the helmet bite into the size of your head just above your ears and on longer rides causes headaches. It would have been better if the two strings were actually flat straps. This would make them more comfortable and keep them from biting into the side of your head. The other odd feature of this helmet is there is no padding. Aside from a tiny piece of padding at the top rear of your head and the padding on your brow there is no other cushioning in this helmet. Compare this to my Troy Lee A2 which has velcroed padding on all of the vertical lines inside the helmet between the vent holes. It's not only ensures Comfort but also help secure the helmet more to your head so the mips system can work. In the DRT5 my head slides around in the helmet rather than the mips moving. The retention Clips in the back for your glasses is a gimmick. It's something you use when you're not riding just to show off on what your helmet can do and the other guys can't. If you are actually doing anything that involves movement, liking riding your bike, this retention system is not secure and you will end up losing your glasses. The adjustment for the straps on the helmet is unnecessarily difficult. You have to basically reverse-engineer what they were thinking in order to adjust these at all. The adjustability of the visor is nice but I'm reading a lot of people commenting on how the screws on each side of the visor are prone to falling out over time. Even the bag this comes in is cheap. Compared to my Troy Lee which has a very nice bag with colored material and a locking mechanism on the drawstring closure. The DRT5 is a plain black helmet bag with a drawstring. They don't even include a locking mechanism so you can cinch the draw sting closed and keep the helmet from falling out. While my helmet was in the backseat of my car the helmet work its way about halfway out of the bag because there's nothing to keep the bag closed. This is unacceptable at this price point. All and all this is a decent helmet for maybe a $120 but at a $200 MSRP it is not worth it.
Got mine for a good price. Looking forward to trying it out. That said, I'll probably end up with a Team Wendy SAR helmet later on since I have several TW helmets and they are super comfortable for extended periods. Wish Oakley would have sewn straps on the side strings
@etdonos You are absolutely right. This is money thrown down the drain. This helmet is just a marketing stitch. The customer service is nightmarish. There are few companies that know how to make helmets and know how to treat their customers who give them work and money.Potwierdzam głowa boli od systemu BOA.
The height adjustment on my DRT5 doesn’t slide like how you show in the video. There’s 2 pegs that need to be locked into holes. There are 3 height options. I was worried the helmet broke when I pulled it off. Is there anyway to adjust the Y height of the side straps?
I got the helmet and it came with 2 small black wedge shaped things in a bag...what the heck is the intended use of these? I can't find any information regarding them...
Just read on a forum that they are blanks for if you remove the sunglass clips when running goggles. I guess for a clean look...although I’d think you’d take the extra air flow. Maybe it protects something in that space from being damaged. I don’t plan on need goggles so I won’t worry about it.

From the inside you can push out the eyewear clips and those rubber bits fill the holes

Nice helmet but guys use your heads, it needs pads on the hard plastic that sits on your head, just ordered a helmet pad kit for another $20.00

Sorry but your adjustment straps have to be the most complicated in the industry, and the helmet comes with absolutely zero assistance
