The Weather Station never sounded so good or so mesmerizing as they do here, and directing team Tamara Lindeman & Jared Raab manage to capture the childlike, helter-skelter chaos and curiosity of the human mind better than any of their contemporaries.
On a second listen: I checked some older songs of yours and must say I like this new direction you take with this song much more. I only am curious what cameras were used to shot this. I know it is challenging as this is a night video, plus he edited it to look a bit retro. I really love the concept, but some things are a bit too blurry (I know for some of them it's intentional) and I suspect UA-cam crunched it a little bit more too.
You realize you're only talking about the video. This is a band. The music did not "take a new direction". This must be from the same generation that thinks their car is an iPhone accessory and can do a complete car review purely while parked.
A little harsh here. Tamara has been an incredible song writer from day one but you can’t deny the music took a new direction. The first couple records are basically folk records with Tamara solo acoustic on many songs. The sound of this song and the last record are way different from those records: you’ve now got a full band, strings, wood woods, two drummers, and a full blown production. I personally love the development of this project as I’ve been along for the ride but you can’t deny it’s different, in fact very different than previous records.
The video reminded me of the new Wild Robot movie, similar to Wall-E but because it is newer the artwork is even better. You have to look close to notice it is after climate change buried the Golden Gate Bridge in water and most people are gone from this area. There is a city of robots sending robots to a distant city of people.

"but nothing needs you so badly as a lie" The Weather Station is back

Lost count of how many times I've listened to this since it came out. Stoked for a new album.
The lyrics are most amazing as usual. Honestly some of the best lyrics I ever read in any artist.
Thank you for continuing to make such good music!
Terrific track from the upcoming superb record. Tamara continues to shine...

This video kinda looks like it was filmed in Parkdale! (Toronto). I'm probably wrong tho

So this is "Smack My B1tch Up" from the headcrab perspective. God thank you for the Weather Station!
Impressive soundscape. Wish the Spotify version started the same as this rather than jump to the lyrics.
Wait for the full album - it's there :)
@ thanks. Seeing all these lists of top songs and albums of 2024. Zero credibility unless yours is included.
Its me sometimes like this video
na ja !
Bar drunked song?
Boring. Skipped a full one minute before it starts. Who directed, D.W. Griffith? 🤣
Different strokes for different folks. I thought this track was fantastic. Now I want to know what you find to be interesting.
