- Paramahansa Yogananda (January 5, 1893 - March 7, 1952) was an Indian monk, yogi and guru who introduced millions to the teachings of meditation and Kriya Yoga through his organization Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF) / Yogoda Satsanga Society (YSS) of India, and who lived his last 32 years in America.
A chief disciple of the Bengali yoga guru Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri, he was sent by his lineage to spread the teachings of yoga to the West, to prove the unity between Eastern and Western religions and to preach a balance between Western material growth and Indian spirituality. His long-standing influence in the American yoga movement, and especially the yoga culture of Los Angeles, led him to be considered by yoga experts as the "Father of Yoga in the West." Yogananda was the first major Indian teacher to settle in America.

I see that, I have not any inclination to any particular spiritual teacher but I love and respect each one of them, no matter the culture, era and background.
From each master there is something to learn, even though they all point to the one and only truth from different ways. They are all different pointers which point to the same thing.
I don’t consider myself religious, but I respect and study many religions and philosophies. Call it Christian mystics, Sufis, Yogis, Buddhism, Taoism etc They are all helpful in providing insights and perspectives.
Thank you for working on this channel. You’ve made it easy and simple for people all around the world, to know this teachings and be inspired to go deeper within.
This kind of knowledge helps especially in the beginning of one’s spiritual journey or “awakening”.

The state of awareness of " Stillness & Silence" was interpreted by Yogananda ji as beyond our normal concepts of Darkness and Light accessible to the senses and mind. Hence he interpreted "IT" as "Darkless Dark" and "Lightless Light" , and "Anirvachaniya": indescribable,
Achutha: inaccessible to the senses, Achintya: unthinkable,
Anaamika: nameless,Nirguna: Trigunaathitha: beyond three qualities yet Sampoorna: Complete by itself and Nirupama: incomparable.
Although I’ve not been there yet, it makes sense somehow in my mind….
Consciousness is prior to thought, so is Love. God is Love so in a weird way it does make sense that you can’t get it by thinking alone.
The mind is a tool that measures, so it can’t comprehend the immeasurable.
That’s where formal mediation helps to clear the mind by letting it be more spacious. Then with right and sincere effort the qualities of spacious mind roll over to every moment in life, in every activity and one can live constantly in a meditative state while being fully active in normal life.
Our whole way of being and involvement in life is our prayer

Please pray for India...reeling under a deadly wave of Covid. Atleast ten people I know have lost their lives and its the same with everyone else. Too many are dying and the reported numbers are fake.
