Interesting to learn they had an O club and E club back then. The same logic about keeping the military on post when they were drinking, because they are going to find somewhere to drink, was in effect decades ago when I was on active duty. The base commander had the authority to allow drinking on base under the age of 21 and beer at the enlisted cub was$1 a bottle. Easier and safer to stay on base than go out into town.

For now, I can start by visiting the NMAI in WDC but not when old people can easily fall into subway track or get kicked off metro bus by freedom-load youngsters. ☠️😞

I visited Ft Laramie last year and heard this talk. The ranger did a great job, but I wish Duke had been there then to give the presentation.
