These two are the absolute best in cricket broadcasting in India…guru and chela .. with the chela sometimes outshining the guru. DK probably could end up having a significant broadcasting career similar to what Harsha has achieved over the last two decades or more!
Brilliant flow of mind reading, this was a game, i thoroughly enjoyed, besides the reality that it is only a post mortem of a test match day, be it one or two. Camaraderie between both of you is heartening to hear. One needs to be technically, emotionally and tactically in tune.
A joy, during my morning walk, was to hear you both, and crack a few smiles in line with your conversation, whereas the onlooker walking against me responded to the infectious smile that you both triggered was mistook by most of them as an early morning greeting. 💞❤

When you learn about conditions and the difference between batting on a road and batting in swinging conditions, you too will understand
Modern day batters don’t have skill to bat when pitch starts to do little in favor of bowlers.
The longer the chatter with you and DK the longer is the enjoyment Harsha... So my honest feedback.. please do share some of the anecdotes or bytes from the day commentary that some folks miss due to time zone constraints

India should have enforced follow on … do not see any reason why they didn’t
It's because team wants that of Gill, Kohli , pant , Rahul should have runs under their belt so they are well confident
India’s going to play 10 test matches in quick succession. They need their bowlers to give rest as much as possible. Add on the Chennai heat. Bangladesh bowlers had just 40 odd overs of rest. Putting them to bowl again will make them more tired which might impact them in 2nd test match as well. Besides, they would love to have the Indian batsmen to spend some time in the middle. So these may be the reasons why India didn’t enforce follow on.

@@kunalregmi450 we still win a lot more than we lose though... So we are doing something right. But yes - India's top 5 haven't done exceedingly well in the last 3-4 years ( barring the time we murdered Bazball)

Kohli wasn't that good since 2021 but he was performing well in his last 2 test series

Leg umpire was luckyly escaped from shot by virat and very next ball virat's mind might have not ready to play the ball or ask question in 10 seconds

Discussing Kohli's dismissal is futile because that was clearly a brain fade and can happen. The one good point to consider is Kohli has turned into a mid batter vs spin.....
I still remember that 2014-19 phase where i would watch a match and would wait for spin bowlers to come and bowl so that Indians can score some easy runs. Plus I was always confident watching Kohli bat in that period that he would negotiate and dominate spin quite easily. He used to average 95+ vs spin in Asia in 2016-19. But since 2020 the average would be 28-30.
DK very remarkably mentioned 3 probable reasons, but having watched Kohli so much i can tell those 3 are not the main reasons. The real reason is spinners attack him mostly on middle-leg since 2020, earlier they would give him many hittable balls outside off both on front and backfoot.
If you see his dismissals vs spin, you would rarely find caught behind, caught in slips or even caught and bowled. Mostly it is bat-pad short leg, lbw, strangled down the leg side, sometimes bowled when he tries to cover drive against spin like he did it against Moeen Ali in Chennai Test 2021.
He never sweeps or paddles or advances so it becomes pretty easy for opposition captain to arrange fields to stop his delicate glances and punches through the leg side. So it is a prime case of non-evolution of spin game for Kohli. He hasn't expanded his range of shots vs spin rather has put aside a couple of shots which he used to play earlier. It is a double whammy.
