I can listen to London tell stories all day. I enjoyed his work in WWE, he was underrated.
It's cool to see London on one of these. He seems like a very down to earth and sincere person.
James just sitting there blinking the whole time actually becomes comedic after a while lol
He's the secret weapon
Rene, James and Paul have amazing chemistry. Paul should be back as a full time guest.
I was thinking that myself.
1000% agree you three should all do this together!!!
Paul London is a star ....a shooting 🌟
Honestly it’s a great idea. I’d be down for that. I understand this IS Rene’s baby, but maaan it’s a hell of an idea. You guys are fun to listen to and y’all play off one another super well. :)
Definitely agree, we need more Paul London
Great interview with Paul London. I always used to pick Paul London & Rene Dupree in Smackdown Vs Raw 2006 on Ps2 back in the day
Great episode. So sad the two-parter with Paul London ended! He is dope. Great job to Rene and James. Keep the content coming
Were having him back later this year
I didn’t care for his work but this was still a fun conversation to listen to.
@@urabusxrw04 his work was alright he was better in roh
@@cafederene it should have let him talk more look at the personality he has here he could have made a million-dollar just by talking you should have been on the announce team on commentary
@@great1004 bro thats so true. London as an announcer is money. Good point. I didn’t even see it
Podcast is growing on me for sure. Nice to hear things from the perspective of someone who isnt trying to kiss ass. We gotta get Rene to stop hiding in the shadows tho lol
Bring Paul back on often. This was awesome
Great content, ngl I need a part 3 now.
Regardless this is great content for us pro wrestling fans, merci à vous les gars 🙏🏽
Booker said he did break London's nose. He also said he probably did hurt Rick Martel. Props to him admitting it.
Man, both of you guys should still be there. I will subscribe 👍👍
So excited for the next podcast with Paul. When I started watching wrestling, Paul London was one of my favourites. I still have his Action Figure from when I was a kid. Offer as much exposure to Mr. London as possible! He’s truly one of a kind ❤️
Please have Rene respond to Booker T once again. He recently discussed Paul London and Rene Dupree on Reality of Wrestling and the “five-time WCW” guy didn’t have some good words.
I love hearing Paul speak. Always was an underrated performer. Wish they did more for him and Kidman, wish they did him with the London and Kendrick tag team, wish they made him an Intercontinental champion at least. He deserved and EARNED away more than he was given.
Totally agree
Rene , Paul and James were great 👍 part 3 and 4 🤞🤞
As a younger wrestler that’s still training listening to Paul talk allows me
to appreciate my trainers more bc they have been teaching me ring psychology since day 1
Download all the of old ROH secrets of the ring shoots. Especially Raven & Al Snow.
@@Robdobalina I’m actually finishing up the Raven one right now. I still gotta get to Mick Foley and Al Snow
I loved part 2 of Paul London! I loved watching him in the ring and he has great insight on the business.
While I understand why people are concerned with ratings for AEW and WWE, keep in mind, Neilson has been out of date with the advent of streaming. There are many ways to watch television that isn’t calculated by Neilson. There is a very good chance AEW is at least doing 2 million, maybe even 3 million in this country. People also do use DVR numbers, and AEW does break around 1.3 to 1.4 in the Neilson rating. WWE also has high DVR numbers also. Plenty of people also watch both shows on Hulu as far as I’m aware. So I think the concern is a bit screwed because we don’t have all the information yet.
I so love listening to Paul, he makes so much sense and alot of what he's says about today's wrestling is what I think too, would love to meet him one day!!
Always have loved Paul so I do hope we can see him back later on
Paul rules, great content Rene and James! Thank you for always delivering.
Im a fan of Rene as a person. Preciate the honesty. Rene Dupree is a real one😎✌
The Brian Cage criticism is so valid. Can anyone get through to him?
Hes a lost cause
That was awesome, randomly popped up in my recommended , listened to both parts during a very very long tedious wait for a very long bus ride to work & back again , and was entertained and giggled the entire time. you 3 have awesome chemistry , and it's so nice to hear London again , and i had no idea how cool and funny Renee is , you guy's are my favorite trio sine Nirvana , hope it's a regular thing , much appreciated.
I like listening to Cafe de Rene.
So damn. I can't lie seeing Paul London on this is what brought me hear yesterday finally finishing up today. Rene wow. What a great podcast I love that you don't cut anyone off and talk when needed so good also shows you care. I remember seeing y'all wrestle for the titles at summerslam in Phoenix unreal to know what you were going through all that while we were booing you. Also I doubt Paul will see this but when he won the tag titles in Phoenix I remember jumping up and down on my couch. Stuff like that made me a mark which later led me to actually reffing matches. So I agree with were all marks at some point and that is what should lead us to the business. I'm a solid listener from this point on.
that Family Dollar line was tremendous
Paul London my new favorite
Probably the best guest you guys had have on here so far. Thank you
Agreed
Paul London is a great talker... they should have put them on commentary in WWE
Paul is very engaging. Excellent wrestler. Thinks similarly on modern wrestling as I do. Great listen.
Grettings from Colombia , BOGOTA
"Not gonna mention Goldberg's name" Hahahahaha
My next go to podcast. Love it.
Obvious to see why these two never made it in the WWE. They are decent, genuine people and those qualities are punished in the land of the scumbags.
Absolutely correct
You just summed up the WWE in one comment
Couldn't have said it better. These guys are ACTUAL legends. 🏆
Love this show. Paul has a lot of integrity & Rene has more heart & resilience than all those narcissistic hotheads combined
💯
This is my new favorite wrestling podcast. Keep it up Rene.
The peacock comment and royalties. If someone with enough money wanted to fight it in court. They would probably win. Bill nye the science guy won a case against Disney for his royalties
I grew up watching wrestling in the time you were in WWE Rene. I love this podcast. It’s very nostalgic!
Loved listening to this. To Rene's point towards the end about how the cat's out of the bag and how you play your part as well (to which Paul had his own good answer), I think Jerry Jarrett once said that he figured only about a quarter of his consistently-paying, consistently-showing audience figured that all of the wrestling in his territory was a shoot. Marks had all kinds of rationalizations for it back in the territory days: "Well those undercard guys, it's all phony, but that Lawler is the real deal," and "The guy in charge has the fix in, but when the title's on the line, those boys go into business for themselves," and the like.
A few mantras of Cornette's are "Personal issues draw money," and "Say what you will about the wrestling business, but those two are mad at each other." You guys are giving away some inside-baseball, but if the actual people calling the shots within pro-wrestling could heed the advice, they could be drawing fucktons of money more on top of the fucktons they already make. Even with kayfabe having been dashed to pieces by the time I was a small child, I, as an adult, would be able to buy into a program based on the story you guys told about Rene and Bob Holly. Fantasy booking notwithstanding, I could believe that there is longtime heat there for what went down years ago. If a whole back-and-forth took form, and then the idea of a fight to settle the score was kicked about, and then all of a sudden it's in the works, even while there would be one voice in my head saying "Y'know they're working you," there'd be another - just as loudly - saying "But they really might wanna fuck each other up on live TV."
Angles can still be built and booked, and all the other shit in between doesn't have to go a mile a minute like Cirque du Soleil on amphetamines. If only (and once again, this is a total fantasy, I know) the bigger promotions - and the talent they employed - could commit to presenting their "product" seriously for a long-enough period of time, one could easily lose oneself in it without taking a step back and feeling like a total idiot for it. So don't feel guilty, Rene.
And yeah, also you guys are just fucking fun to listen to. London's story about Boogeyman and Stevie Richards had me rolling. Consider me subscribed.
Favourite ep so far
This channel is blowing up🎉💪
Bob Holly get KOed by Gunn in bawl for all was best thing ever
Holly was the only one Gunn didn’t knock out.
London tells the best storiesX only been hearing clips by finally got recommended the whole thing
It's good to see that Paul London has finally matured because I was watching a video of him and Kendrick back then and he was acting a little bit immature it's good to see that he's finally grown up now and is being responsible he's talking like a true professional now he should take a lot of pride in that
He's a better person as soon as he got away from Brian Kendrick
Spanky was a bad influence lol
@@codesm96 yes he certainly was
Paul London is the best
Happy this got recommended. Great talk between buddies!
Great conversations boys, both parts just flew by. 😎
One of the best podcast episode and Paul drop the truth bombs on the state of wrestling.
Legendary...I'm speechless!
The entire aew roster should have to listen to Paul talk about how stupid they look
Best lesson those Jabroni could ever learn
just finished part 1 today, thanks so much Boys.
Excellent interview here, well done guys!
Looking forward to it. Thanks for the memories Rene. Please keep these coming
Paul gave one of the best explanations of what a modern day Conspiracy Theorist is … nailed to a T what those Q people are.
Love Paul London one of my childhood favourites and deserved so much better 👏
"Love, you Paul"
"Love you too, man"
Seriously, this is one of the most genuine, sincere and weirdly wholesome podcasts ever and I'm so glad I stumbled across it. I don't follow wrestling at all, but it's just been great to go back and watch a couple of hilarious, legit cool dudes renew their friendship over the last few years. It warms this jaded ol' girl's heart. ❤ Patreon member 4LIFE!
Rene the podcast is amazing. What are the chances of Paul as permanent 3rd seat? Seriously you guys just talking about your experiences would be great
This.
This is Awesome thank you Rene
Now we got something here😁
Another great video. What I like about this channel is that the guests on most podcasts are politicking and still hoping to get a job at one of the two major companies so they're dishonest when asked questions. Your guests have all seemed pretty honest and that is difficult in the wrestling world to get. Paul London is the truest fucking dude out there. Always respected that about him. Keep it up guys!
Because Paul London doesn't give a fuck** about that anymore
Fuck WWE
good video.
I asked Konnan about some of Paul claims, because he's had WWE contacts for years. And he didn't say a word about it. Just called me a Fanboy. So you know some of this stuff is too hot for him. 😃 😀 😄
Paul speaking facts on wrestling today o grew up on ruthless aggression era and man when I tell you wrestling has gone to crap it has gone to crap
Honestly, I’m glad Paul London came on and chopped it up with Rene. Definitely remember these two on smack down back when I was in Jr. High when smack down was worth watching.
I want to respond to Paul about the crazy theorists. People can easily look upon him as someone who drinks up the propaganda in response. So the question is; do you completely trust the mainstream media? That what it comes down to: Theorists vs Propagandists.
Let me put it in a pro wrestling sense: as of this date we heard nothing from Naomi and Sasha Banks concerning their walkout, but I should believe whatever WWE pushes right now concerning their incident WITHOUT question because they're a mainstream corporation.
News stations are owned by billionaires and ran by human beings, and you can see the state of CNN right now quickly going downhill in their credibility the past several years.
Does anyone know who the 'sly' guy is he's talking about around the 27/28 minute mark? It might have been mentioned but I didn't catch it.
Paul was always a favourite of mine (my old UA-cam account name was mrslondon450 - embarassing 🙈) and this interview is a great watch.
sylvain grenier
Another great episode lads Paul is a great guest I'll echo other commenters and say that he should come on semi-regularly (there's obviously a demand for it lol) I know it would be difficult with clashing schedules though so all is good. Congrats on 6k by the way pretty sure I congratulated you for hitting 5k after the rehab video haha..
I wonder what degree of mark I am? I don't pay attention to the current stuff, but I still love older stuff that I grew up with when I'm in a mood for it.
Great interview would like to see a part 3
Paul is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time but when he called AEW wrestler’s children it kinda rubbed me the wrong way. He was undersized for his era and I’m sure vets said the same about him, but he killed it every night.
They are the same height as him but at least he hit the gym. You don't have to look like a roid freak, you just have to put in some damn effort and try to look like an athlete. The "Vanilla Midgets" of yesteryear at least looked in better shape than the fans, there are a lot of indie guys who look have the bodies of teenagers.
I swear Vince going so hard in the bodybuilder direction made people contrarian and go to the opposite extreme. Even Kevin Owens has straight up said in interviews that he doesn't go to the gym, there are plenty that still do but that needs to be the standard.
he was always small but he also worked out and was mainly a cruiserweight or tag wrestler and he would wrestle small plus he was never above the mid card. Most of the wrestlers on aew are his size or smaller and don't sell or sell big and don't work out too much. Even the dudes I like now are small and that's fine in a mix of a bunch of dudes of all shapes and sizes and when they mostly lose when put against big dudes or main carders and still put on great matches but when top to bottom its smaller dudes and the big guys have to still work like they aren't cruiserweights and constantly lose to them it looks silly. Brain cage has long matches he mostly loses with dudes the size of the jobbers ryback would have 3 on one squash matches with and ryback was nowhere near the size of cage if we are talking muscle mass and physic. like if we are taking realism into aew why cant the bigger or tougher wrestlers fight these small twitch streamers I can only suspend my belief so far with so many people but when the company expects me to do it for everyone its just too much.
Great podcast
Well London at least you got TV time a lot of the guys in WWE just sit in the back and they never get featured
My advice is this you have to learn how to wrestle amateur before even want to be able to put on any kind of professional wrestling because amateur wrestling is the basis upon what everything is built upon in the wrestling business
Paul is spot on. AEW is mostly spots rather than telling a story.
What the actual fuck man. I can't believe a WWE trainer would rather have a wrestler not to seek immediate medical attention just because they don't want a record and pay for it. And they have the audacity to tell people not to attempt wrestling moves at home when you have people who are actually doing them in the ring, risking their lives just so top managment can earn a fat pay cheque and not provide their wrestlers a safe working environment. I've heard of stories like hazing and bullying but never anything like that. So glad both Paul and Rene are out of that company and thriving outside of WWE.
I agree with a lot of what Paul London is saying... and all the veterans also I agree all the shooters would agree with it as well
I recently saw a video a while ago on Harry Smith just training a group of so-called wrestlers in training and he put him through it entire Japanese workout with dozens of Hindu squats and the whole nine yards that's what they all need to be put through they need to be put through the hard training they need to pay their dues
Brian Cage is for sure 5’10 Def not 6’3. Good call Rene, I always compare peoples heights in the ring with guys I’ve met in person to find their shoot heights on how people compare to my height.
Bring out some merch Rene!
The bleep over Control Your Narrative deafened me.
This podcast and gaw tv are my fav pods
There's somebody that they should have pushed to the moon ,Christian York ,like that guy should have been on WWE and been a multiple time world champion
Wasn’t he the asshole who thought women shouldn’t main event Wrestlemania? Sure, let’s have some regressive asshole like that at the top.
God, WWE locker room stories from this time are always absolutely nightmarish - like, this podcast almost has the air of an impromptu therapy session.
That said, even if it's not all flattering I really respect how cathartic and validating it must feel for two people who went through this shit together to be able to air it all out and be able to laugh about it years later. Glad both these guys are in a better place now and I wish 'em the best.
I remember always picking Paul in Day of Reckoning 2 on gamecube
Paul Seems Like a Good Dude.
Unless darby allin has martial arts or street fighting background he's not taking on somebody like Brian Cage it is possible for a 150 lb guy to beat somebody like him but he has to have some fighting experience and technique he has to be like a combat veteran or something
Harry smith...real wrestler
I love Paul im an aspiring wrestler and I fucking hate this generation of these play wrestlers and being a cookie cutter I come from amateur background most of my life and been a fan of wrestling my whole life and after 2010 thats it all these realistic awesome psychology out the window
Then you're already on the right track...
@@great1004 🙏
Can you have him back on the show?
They should just turn it into dialogue only in ring drama...
Whatever happened to the Batista's ,Ken Shamrock's, Luther Reigns whatever happened to them the closest thing to that and wrestling right now that they could build a bond is Wardlow if he could become a legit fighter he could actually be something
It's not pro-wrestling. its video game wrestling. AEW=video game wrestling!
Jesus Christ Rene, turn a light on.
Not sure if it’s like this for everyone, but apparently this episode isn’t working on the Apple Podcasts app. Was trying to listen to it on my way to work today, but it kept giving the “unable to play/download failed” message when I tried listening or downloading it.
I'll look into it, it's available on Spotify if that helps

That's a very good point they were jealous of Rene that's why Bob wanted to beat him up so bad and everybody was bullying him because they were jealous
When I was a kid I had a Paul London WWE action figure with his belt he won! One of my favorites growing up and once I stopped seeing him and my other favorites that’s when I stopped watching.
