Here’s the link to LoadPro on Amazon. This is a very useful tool that can help you diagnose electrical issues fast. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004IKPUL2/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B004IKPUL2&linkCode=as2&tag=koontrucking-20&linkId=33b586a958a6964f09fa477c68c0dbd0
Hey love your videos. Been a fan since the beginning. I'm a diesel tech here in north central FL. Wanted to let your viewers know that you could also eliminate 50% more of the problematic circuit by merely removing the black lead from the blower motor switch (while keeping the red lead attached) and touch it to a good chassis ground. If the voltage drop is still present, it tells you the problem is on the positive side of your circuit. If the voltage doesn't drop it's a ground wire issue. 👍
Dam! I would've made the call on the blower motor just from non running blower motor based on voltage. when in fact it's the resistance in the wireing, great video guys I'm putting this on order
I actually got one because Caterpillar highly recommended it when testing power on the P1 connector to the ECM . Well many years later I see a lot of videos criticizing the tool. It's a great tool especially for electricity challenged techs. I came across a 60 series that started off with a oil pressure fault then it escalated to a no throttle and just kept getting worse. Finally this monster rolled into my bay. After peeling of the layers of half fast repairs using the load pro came to find out that the 5 volt positive out of the ecm would drop and as luck would have it the same 5 volts powered throttle and 3 sensors . Replaced ecm put everything back together like it left the factory Man the owner was so happy he bought the whole shop lunch Great tool to have in my book You did not mention the book that is also a great tool to have
@@wallyhare8616 will I know that cat will tell you some of there stuff to put the ground to the reference and then the 5 volt positive to the reference the correct response will be a dash 3 or a dash 4 code at the end of the first 4 digits. But this load pro helps eliminate the need for a labtop as you can see the voltage drop on your meter And by pass the expensive CAT E.T.
Great stuff...... Nothing drives a person more nuts than the so called intermittent power problems.... I've had it in my brake lights for 30yrs and still could not find it so I hot wired my own in straight off the battery as an emergency one time and its been there ever since. That's a pretty slack job and I'll put it right when I get one of these.
That is a great tool I will be getting one y'all are great people I can't weight to meet y'all I am going to come see y'all soon I have been watching your videos for about 1year and have become a big fan of yours I have been a big truck mechanic for 44years and always been at a dealership I started at a International dealership and then went to the Peterbilt Dealership and have been their for 31 years going to retire in about 2 more years but still buy tools every week from Snap On
Heck yeah ! You have seen some stuff doing it that long for sure !!! Come on anytime you are ready ! We will let you teach us some tricks of the trade when you get there !
This tool is great for technicians that are limited in electrical theory is dumb proof. It work probably a good 95% of electrical issues. I have one but I admit it hardly it get used compared to cheap test light or home made light bulbs to put a load in a circuit.
This seems usefull with my conversion van. Theres tons of tapping in wires and bs . My brother in law prior owner replaced all parts w blower and heat ect. It still wouldn't work. All the extra stuff with conversion van this makes sense.
Or you can be cheap and use a high watt low resistor across your DVM - will do the same job for peanuts. Dpn't need tp buy an expensive piece of kit for occasional use.
Is there a place for the load pro as well as a power probe style device for testing if there is a parts failure as well? Load pro just came in the mail today thanks for the recommendation!
i like the idea but i would rather use my power probe to check the circuit. that's usually the first thing i grab. and i always power up the load before condemning it. also when i was working at the dealership one of the guys there showed me how to make a substitute load using light bulbs and some t pins like the one's that Eric O. uses in his video. that's my preferred way of diagnosing circuits but like i said it does seem like a pretty cool tool
Clay I’m a fabricator and a tech I’m looking for a nice OBD2 computer, I do mostly cars and trucks not much diesel but it be nice too have light duty diesel capability. I was looking at the Bosch 650 and some autel stuff. What do you suggest? I like too go less then 5 grand. I really like too stay at a couple grand but I’m willing too pay for good unit.
Because you need a current to test for a voltage drop. LoadPro is adding the load to the wires to see if you get a drop under those conditions. If it's the part itself that's bad, you'd add voltage to the part to see if it works. You could could use a Power Probe for that to make it easy, that's how those tools have different usages.
It tests the entire circuit at one time. Take a look at the inventor he’s got a UA-cam channel and a demo board and he explains it very very well on there. It starts at the negative side and check entire systems at one time and applies the “load” to all at one time
The multimeter will measure resistance, but only in a circuit with no power. The loadpro allows you to see resistance in a live circuit with electricity running through it.
I don’t get your point. It clearly shows the problem in the circuit. Just because a wire shows voltage on it doesn’t mean it can handle a load. Many times the wire isn’t broken all the way through just several of the strands and it can’t handle the load that is applied to it. This tool tests the entire circuit at one time from battery to whatever you have it hooked to through the switch etc all the way back to ground. It’s a fantastic tool for diagnostic

Yup. Way, way faster than this.
Good ol daniel sullivan.

Great tool to have in my book
You did not mention the book that is also a great tool to have
SON OF MONTEZUMA be careful on 5 volt. You need to find all that is on the reference and disconnect all and load.
I have ran into that before and was worried I would put too much of a load on the ecm.
@@wallyhare8616 will I know that cat will tell you some of there stuff to put the ground to the reference and then the 5 volt positive to the reference the correct response will be a dash 3 or a dash 4 code at the end of the first 4 digits.

Amen. When you get it figured out. You can find faults in a Circuit in mins vs hours pulling you hair out or in my case lack there of haha 😂

Great video clay !!! Wally has some good knowledge
Billy The Mechanic 82 I love electronics. That is my passion
I always back up my voltage reading with my harbor freight test light. But I do own two loadpros
I recieved my napa load pro today. Can't wait to use it this weekend.
Good Job
i got mine years ago it has its place for some testing
Got to look into getting me one of those handy LoadPros. Thanks Again Clay.

Very good tool saves a ton of time.

Now that is cool.

Damn now I need this 😂 at least you gave me a link. Thank you sir this will help on the job I’m getting back to in a couple days
Great video and explanation! Absolutely love mine!
Good video y'all have a good one and stay safe 👍
Thanks Sir, great experience videos channel I like it this post we love you too
Thanks a lot blessing we love you
Dan sullivan invented this tool, he is a electrical trainer and technician. Tool saves time and headache.
It’s a great tool for sure. Makes life much easier !
Regarding 4:44 why don't you check resistance on s line circuit? Blow the circuit?
Thanks for keeping this simple!!
Thank you
Nice video -keep on truckin'!
Good video
Whos green monster cart. I have a black one 1 bought 6yrs ago and its been a awesome cart. Should do a quick 5min video of that awesome cart
That’s Bill’s cart he got off Mr.Joe
Great tool!
Can you check a 5volt system with it
the same can be done with a powerprobe
Or you can be cheap and use a high watt low resistor across your DVM - will do the same job for peanuts. Dpn't need tp buy an expensive piece of kit for occasional use.
I see wally cleaned up his sliding top🤘🔧🍺
Nice.!

Wow
PRODIGY Koon Trucking
Thank you 👍
Take care and have a great day

From Nick Ayivor from London England UK 🇬🇧
Can you use load pro with lower volt references like 5v or 8v. Doesn’t seem to work the same.
Great video thank you for this!!!
FOR SALE. One well used parts cannon. No longer required
👍🤟🤙 great video buddy

Pretty cool!! I need to get this tool to diagnose by defective door actuator! Cheers!!
You think u can use this for hvac work
Why would you not use the Power Pro to test apart after you got it out to make sure it wasn't something in the wiring
Are those red kap shirts? If so how do you like them? Thank you
Yes they are the motor sports ripstop. They are nice
Can you give me the part number for the load pro you used?
how often do you have a light bulb in the power wire???
You do realize that was to just stimulate a draw
Can you test and load fuses? Do you have to remove the (load) ie. a module?
It tests the entire circuit at one time. Take a look at the inventor he’s got a UA-cam channel and a demo board and he explains it very very well on there. It starts at the negative side and check entire systems at one time and applies the “load” to all at one time
3 years later that blower motor is 250 bucks lol
Do you still find yourself using this clay?
It’s the best tool for diagnosing issues. It will most definitely eliminate many issues quickly
Thanks Clay ill have to pick one up I always used a headlight to load test
im new to electrics... very... but doesn’t your multimeter also meausure resistsnce anyway?
The multimeter will measure resistance, but only in a circuit with no power. The loadpro allows you to see resistance in a live circuit with electricity running through it.
The number one thing you need to know being new to electrical/electronics is that the best way to test a circuit is with it loaded or “stressed”
Koorite okay thank you very much
Stop doing tool reviews you are going to make me go broke!
All I see is adding a load to another load. Haven't seen one good video on this product.
I don’t get your point. It clearly shows the problem in the circuit. Just because a wire shows voltage on it doesn’t mean it can handle a load. I hate electrics
*Alex* V-i-P do is all a favor and don’t mess with them 🤣🤣
Got to look into getting me one of those handy LoadPros. Thanks Again Clay.
