  • In this video I show a few techniques anyone can learn to paint small details in figures.
I will focus on mainly the logo of The Enemy’s Red Shadow soldier and Black Major.
    Enjoy!

The ones with black gloves are known as "Red Vulture" came packed with the Shadow Trak vehicle as the driver.

Hi, the Red Shadow with black gloves is Red Vulture the driver of, and came packed with, the Shadowtrak... well usually, some were sold carded as Red Shadows and some Shadowtraks came packed with the standard Red Shadow. Action Force can be very confusing to collect at times.

Nice work but for some reason this is one of the toy lines I like seeing some time/play wear on

I hate to tell you this, but, I think you've painted a logo onto a rare West German variant Red Shadow. Due to "historical reasons" the enemy figures weren't allowed to have the skull and crossbones logo or eagle badge on their chest.

Wow, that’s cool. Thanks for the info, I’ll do some research on this. If I decide I want to put this back to original all I need to do is clean off the acrylic paint with alcohol, done gently will not remove the original paint underneath.

I think Edwin may be correct. While not massively rare, on non German figures youll usually see equal paint wear on the edges of the black logo.

Thanks for identifying, after taking a look at those figures you may be correct. Hard to clarify but I found a West German example online and looks exactly like my figure before I painted it. Luckily acrylic paint wipes of with a little alcohol.

@@toysbackzen Cool, when I first picked mine up I thought it may of been a factory error but fellow collectors identified it for me. The variant is nice to own and a good talking point to to your collection.

Great job of touching up your figure, but as mentioned by a few others this appears to be a Rarer German red Shadow (Die Terror-Bande) Rote Schatten figure.
You may come across some Black Majors and Barron Ironbloods that don’t have the Skull and cross bone logo too, as explained by others due to political reasons.
I was the same a while back and didn’t realise the difference and just thought it was paint loss or error, and even scrapped the WATT logo off a Space Force Figure when I was a kid as I thought it some kinda dodgy fake 🤦‍♂️
But at least you can clean it off if you want to.
Everyday is a school day, 😁
