It's sad knowing that just because Lorelei didn't want to get married to Christopher, he couldn't stick around for his kid. Goes to show he loved more the idea of the nuclear family than being a father
@@tracim3080 Other people's expectations are irrelevant, no matter the decade. Christopher should have stuck around because he was now a father. @@CDG1228 you have completely missed the point of what I said. My point is what’s really sad is the amount of men who got away with this exact same behaviour. My comment in no way justifies Christophers behaviour so your decision to write out a paragraph saying he still at fault make no sense.
Luke was so resistant to finally getting married that it lowkey traumatised Lorelei , so just Chris saying he wanted to and right now probably meant a big deal to her even if she didn't really want to
Typical Christopher. When he wants what he wants he’s gonna find a way, including marrying a woman in Paris (and notice how Lorelei wasn’t too keen at first; but he pushed it). When you mentioned how he didn’t even think of Rory, that’s exactly my same thought! Man got swept up in Paris lol
So I absolutely agree with you about how Christopher sucks because my dad did the same thing to me, he and my mom broke up before I was born and didn't participate in raising me even though he didn't disappear altogether from my life which actually makes it more painful than if he were to have just left and never come back. It's incredibly selfish to put a child through that. I never understood why Lorelai would ever want to be with Chris. She should have been furious and annoyed with him for being a flake. But she always flirts with him throughout the series and ran to him when she needed attention or (in this case) wanted to make sure she severed ties with Luke. So he's an idiot and she just sort of strings him along. And I don't know if you picked up on it but throughout the series Chris proposes like 4 times. Once in a flashback when they were teenagers, then a few times since. So it's weird that she's shocked that he'd be eager to marry her. The entire arc is just weird.

Amy Sherman-Palladino was not a writer this season of the show and I think that’s why this stupid marriage with Christopher happened. Christopher has been villainized the whole series then we’re supposed to cheer for him. Not happening.
Omg my time has come!! Okay so brace yourselves because this is gonna be a long comment 😂 Basically, I LOVE this episode for one reason and one reason only: Rory! When she dyed her hair with pink highlights with her new college friends Lucy and Olivia, I was like “I seriously wish she kept her hair like that for a longer period of time” because it was just so pretty. I’m pretty sure I’m the biggest pink-haired Rory Gilmore fan out there because I’ve never shut up about it. Ever since I first watched the show for the first time ever all those years ago back in 2012, this episode stuck with me the most because of Rory’s character as a whole because I was just like her as a kid, knowing exactly what I want to do with my life, and I was kinda raised the same way as her, so I saw so much of myself in her. And then the talk with her new friends afterwards after she had that breakdown was just so me. I’ve been in the same boat as her for a really long time now, and it’s like the older you get, the harder it is for you to figure out what you want to do with your life anymore because you just don’t have it in you anymore. I’m just like her in that aspect, and it was just so relatable with that monologue she had. I seriously wish they could have made Lucy and Olivia show up way earlier on in the show like maybe season 5 or even 6 because it never quite made sense to me why Rory didn’t have female college friends. She should’ve branched out more, and they were pretty solid people and super sweet to her!! She really needed people like them, people who weren’t Lane or Paris. Also, it’s no wonder Rory’s character changed like that because she went through such a realistic journey in terms of her education and academics, due to the external pressures in her life. Everyone, as in her mom, her grandparents, and the people of Stars Hollow constantly put her up on this pedestal as the perfect girl who can do no wrong, but she was always raised in a way that makes you think she was just so sheltered and coddled from the real world, so it makes sense why she ended up spiraling out of control and dropped out of Yale during that one point in the show. No one taught her (Lorelai) or prepared her that she’s gonna be rejected or get criticized in life. Rory was always raised in a way where she’s the girl who would get everything she wants, and everyone had so many high standards and expectations for her as a gifted child, but sadly, she became the burn out. And that happens a lot in society. I feel for her, you guys. I’ve been down a similar road, just not to the extent of dropping out and all the dramatics, but: Rory, bestie, I get you!!! They could never make me hate you. I will always love you and you will always be my top comfort character. And when Rory says “Everything is just ending. I feel like everything’s gonna be over” is honestly when I really started realizing during my first ever watch that the show I was watching was ending too because it’s the final season. Like that was the exact moment where it hit me and I’m an overly sensitive and emotional person, so I naturally ended up crying with Rory about the show ending because I didn’t want it to end and because it’s my favorite 🙈 Aside from that part of the episode, let me just ignore everything that happened with Lorelai and Christopher in Paris lol that’s basically deleted and erased from my brain. No thank you! Nope! Goodbye! I just pretend it never happened 😭😭 (Edit: THANK YOU FOR AGREEING WITH ME ABOUT RORY, KING ❤️❤️)

If you miss those windows you can't find a restaurant. And to us it sounds totally normal, I only figured out I was allowed to eat outside those windows when I started to travel and see open restaurants in other countries. The "I only joined to meet cute guys" thing always confused me, like it was some kind of summer writing camp anyone could sign up for and not what I assume is a competitive elective you have to apply for to have on your transcript?
They took Gigi to visit her mom who left Christopher with the baby and never came back. Rory and the girls are still friends cause they haven't had their fallout yet. Lorelai left with rory when she was a baby so it wasn't all Chris' fault. I don't like his character, but lorelai did him wrong so many times too. Um sir I graduated high school in 1996 😂
Lorelai did not do him wrong. She only moved 30 minutes away to get away from her parents. *He is the one who chose to move across the country. *He is the one who chose to NOT visit his daughter for 16 years. *He is the one who let both sets of parents believe he was doing great things. So much so that her own parents would throw it in her face how "well" Christopher was doing. *He is the one who was free to do as he pleased with NONE of the responsibilities of being parent (and with that, he still made a mess of his life until he inherited his family's money). He even thanked her for leaving "the door open to Rory"...and yet...HE chose to never use that door...until she was 16.
@CDG1228 I'm not just taking about her leaving. I'm talking about her running to him when she broke up with Luke because she knew he would take her. Lorelai chose to leave and not ask for his help. So many times she tried to make him out to be the bad guy but she played a part in how things played out
@@javajesusjournalingwithmelissa So because she went to his place after her break-up, he was "forced" to have sex with her? Of course not. He's a grown man. If he couldn't handle being friends with her, he could have told her that. It's not that hard to be honest. The fact is, he wanted whatever attention he could get from her. Also, I know he hasn’t watched all the episodes. But saying Chris totally abandoned them is crazy! I’m a Christopher apologist, and it makes me a little sad
@ not really. Lorelei wanted to do it on her own. She said no to getting married, she moved away. Could he have done better? Definitely. But saying he abandoned them is overstating his flaws
@@Anna-B she didn't say no to getting married because she wanted to raise a whole child alone at 16, she said no to getting married because they were just way too young to get married. he could've still stuck around, move to stars hollow or at least somewhere close, could at least help raising her just a little bit. rory lived there for her whole life and no one in the town even knew who chris was.... it's really not an exaggeration to say he abandoned them
@ I know. My point was that Lorelei wasn’t asking for help, but rather being independent. Christopher could have done a better job at being involved, but I don’t think it’s fair to say he abandoned them. Abandoned implies he dipped out of their lives, not caring about them in the least. That’s just not true in this case

People treat you how you ALLOW them to treat you.
She shouldn't have to ASK him for help with his child.
@CDG1228 ok....a little excited about a fictitious show aren't we? We all like/dislike different things about the show. I'm not going to debate over it lol I thought rory was an entitled brat most of the time and lorelai could be pretty self centered. I love the show. One of my favorites. Plays in repeat throughout my days. But I'm not going to get bent out of shape or debate cause someone doesn't agree
@@javajesusjournalingwithmelissa Since I responded to a comment YOU posted, I guess that means we both got a little excited about a fictitious show.
what i really don't get is the portrayal of a european capital. of course there are places open to get food.
it's not the french countryside.
i don't get it.
If you haven't done it yet please do Girls in Bikinis, Boys Doin' the Twist
I have, its the "Baywatchified episode" title.
ur so funny😭😭😭
Thank you.
I was born in 1982. So... telling me being alive in 1991 makes someone old as hell, you're asking for a very big Hospital Bill after what I do next to you...
Conspiracy theorists 🤣
Yay!!!
Christopher was prepared to marry her at 16. She was the one who said no and ran away
She believed that they were too young get married and Chris could’ve still be there to help raise Rory so he’s the one that ran off.
I like this episode, but I’m not a Christopher hater. Though this season is a bit of a drop off in general
Also, I know he hasn’t watched all the episodes. But saying Chris totally abandoned them is crazy! I’m a Christopher apologist, and it makes me a little sad
he did though???
@ not really. Lorelei wanted to do it on her own. She said no to getting married, she moved away. Could he have done better? Definitely. But saying he abandoned them is overstating his flaws
@@Anna-B she didn't say no to getting married because she wanted to raise a whole child alone at 16, she said no to getting married because they were just way too young to get married. he could've still stuck around, move to stars hollow or at least somewhere close, could at least help raising her just a little bit. rory lived there for her whole life and no one in the town even knew who chris was.... it's really not an exaggeration to say he abandoned them
@@Anna-BYou don’t have to be married to your kid’s mom to be a dad.
@ I know. My point was that Lorelei wasn’t asking for help, but rather being independent. Christopher could have done a better job at being involved, but I don’t think it’s fair to say he abandoned them. Abandoned implies he dipped out of their lives, not caring about them in the least. That’s just not true in this case
"imagine being alive in 1991" - ouch
My birth year.. and I do feel old sometimes but damn...
Hah it's almost like a lot of the fan base was alive in 1991 😂
@@cassie1560Imagine how old I feel when I graduated from high school in 1990. LOL
If you watched this show on its first run, you’d almost have to be.
12:24 - somewhere brad mondo just got the urge to throw a chair through a wall and doesn't know why.
Horrible application, but then somehow it looks great lmao
i believe they're dropping the baby off with her mother in france.
8:59 - my girl krysten ritter!!!
