I am fortunate to work with KiwiRail and I find the individuals that I work with are dedicated individuals who want the best for KiwiRail. I'm a passionate supporter of KiwiRail and I would love to see New Zealand get behind them as an organisation.

I wonder if the Government has seen this? Are they planning to shut down some main rail corridors, especially in the South Island ? I think they are thinking that way. If thousands of trucks flooded the roads, then road maintenance would go up by billions of dollars per annum, and cars would not be able to use said roads because of the potholes! Neither would trucks!

Recently they have put a siding in for Sorted Logistics in Christchurch which will help move the large amount of containers but why put the siding on the opposite side. So they will still need trucks when if put on their side a reach forklift would eliminate the need for trucks.

So why is the Masterton to Napier line not used? Any logs to go to the Napier port from Masterton has to go to Wellington first, then to Palmerston North then to Napier. Doesn't sound very efficient to me.
