I’m a long time bike messenger in nyc and I’ve tested out every flash pattern there is and cars give you the most distance and slow the most down with fast irregular flash patterns like with the Super flash Turbo by Planet Bike. They have the perfect flash pattern and brightness. The worst flash patterns where cars go fast by you and extremely close to you are constant on and also slow pulse. Fast slash is good but not to fast where it just looks like it’s constant on basically, the best is irregular flash pattern though.
I have been using Cygolites for 10 years now. The 150 is good but the 350 is awesome. There are a few clueless clowns who have no common sense destroying a good thing then blame the manufacturer. Never had a problem with my 4 Cygolites.
I would stay away from the Cygolite. My neighbor upstairs bought it from Amazon and got it for the brightness level but didn't use common sense and look at the description photos to see the very nasty manufacturing weakness. He used it no more than maybe 4 times and the clip on the light itself that connects to the seat post clamp broke it just snapped. I have several taillights that I just purchased two week ago at nowhere near the cost of that one and they are all built better. The connection points are either Garmin type or just better style slide in clip that will break only if outright deliberately or a major drop or snag...major!!! He was visibly annoyed and angry about it and that I got 7 lights one was a set The Volcano Bicycle Light set and the other was two separate ones of the same model the Two auto rear Taillight,the same as the Meroca. All of theses are better built and won't break easily as well as being all daylight bright without a doubt. Cygolite is a good brand ,why did they release a product with that obvious of a weak point was either deliberate or they just lost touch with good design engineers. Stick with anything of theirs that doesn't have that design flaw cause his is the 300 lumen model hypershot. Don't cry victim when they're people like me all over UA-cam and other media platforms clearly stating informative facts but your to mentally lazy to be better observant. This goes for every bike light make sure they meet the stated manufacturers claims and are built well,all mines are and do. All the best
