1:05 I like how the emperors establish the main colony close to the water with the small fort structure preventing any penguin from falling in

I definitely think SeaWorld has some immoral practices and problems that I hope they solve, but I think their work with emperor penguins is commendable.

Well emperors, being a true Antarctic penguin, are probably one of the most notoriously difficult species to keep due to their environmental preferences. Because of this, only a handful of facilities in the world can successfully house them. Seaworld San Diego is the only self-sustaining emperor population in North America. I think a future recommendation Seaworld should do is slightly reduce the number of smaller penguins in the exhibit so they can make way for more emperors so they can breed more frequently. (According to the AZA care manual, the size of a colony determines how frequently penguins reproduce and since Seaworld only has around 2 dozen or so emperors, this could explain why they produce chicks at a really slow rate.)

      I'm from Brazil. xD
But it probably isn't sufficiently cold for them, even because the exhibits are closed.

I thought emperor penguins grew to a height of 4'5". They are much shorter than the ladies in the habitat.
Skeletal remains of the now extinct Mega Penguin were 6'8" in height. Wow!
