I agree with your "listen to your body" PSA, so often we push our selves now instead of going at good renewed full steam later
Thank you for explaining who Lisa Frank was. Loved the dress and the fun you had with it.
Yes! I loved Morgan Donner's dress but wow I would wear this, in public, all the time!
Those boots are EVERYTHING! They made me think of Rainbow Bright :) This was wonderful to watch, beautiful dress.
Thanks Auntie Daisy. 😉♥️ I have health issues that cause me to always take things slowly. Thanks for helping me to be patient and caring with myself!
This is the cutest frickin thing ever
I’m obsessed and I’m dying to find similar boots. I would love to see a history bounded rainbow bright. You already have the perfect shoes for it and you could definitely rock the side pony again.
I loved Lisa Frank too! Love this dress! So cute!
So cute and so joyful. I love the dirndl shape especially with the black trim
You are officially my hero with this outfit.
gorgeous! i love all the fun accessories, too! i don't think there's anything i've ever seen you make that i wouldn't proudly wear!
Omg right in the #eldermillenial feels! I love it!
Its so garishly Pink, Girly, and Rainbow, and I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!
What a fantastic outfit.. I love it. I crochet and have made hundreds of scrunchies over the years. Like Morgan Donner I too have recently cut off my waist length hair and now have an excess of scrunchies. Xx
Super! I watched Morgan Donner and then found a similar rainbow fabric to yours. So far I've made my niece a circle skirt, but I definitely need something for myself (with structure of course!) Hmmmm
This outfit is so much fun! I love the matching scrunchie, and the apron, too. It's funny, here in the Netherlands rainbow animals was definitely a thing in the 90s but I don't think Lisa Frank as a brand was ever a thing over here. It feels so odd that you guys have a name for it XD
And I love that you're listening to your body and taking breaks when you need them.
Love Lisa Frank! And your dress is perfect❤️. Those boots! So rainbow bright🤣❤️
SO COOL....MAKES ME WISH I COULD SEW ENOUGH TO MAKE SOMETHING SIMILAR. KEEP ON HAVING FUN
That's so awesome! The final look is so pretty, the fabric from afar is magical!
Also, I gasped at the shoes!
Absolutely Fabulous xxxx
Now I want my whole wardrobe to be dirndlesk dresses! 😂
I've just stumbled across your channel and I'm hooked. You are excellent. I love sewing and creativity but I also liked the part where you said about listened to your body and resting. I have a couple of chronic pain conditions. I used to get really annoyed when it flared up and stopped me in my tracks. I'm slowly learning to stop when I need to, and that really resonated with what you said 😊💚😊.
Yes. Everything about this outfit! Except for the side pony... those always made me feel off kilter. I am a very clumsy klutz 😆
Honestly, tho, yes yes yesness!
As for bringing back my childhood, I was a bit disconcerted last week when I popped into a clothing store and saw that the requisite two decades have passed; the whole stock was 90s inspired, and I wandered around muttering "I'm not that old, I'm not that old" and reminiscing about my mother teasing me about hijacking the styles of her generation 😅
What I would bring back is cargo jeans that don't touch your belly button. ANY pants that don't touch your belly button. BELLY BUTTONS NEED TO BREATHE!
I love a good scrunchie. My hairs too short at the moment, so I've been making Alice bands to go with my outfits, and masks of cause.
I am enchanted with what you did. A lovely dirndl!! Thank you too for the common sense of "listen to yourself' when it comes to being tired. So many of us ignore those prompts, and get burned out. I recently made a dirndl dress for a customer using the Folkwear pattern. I was not happy, and should I use that pattern, I will be making adjustments. I'm looking forward to watching your other video on making a dirndl pattern.
WOW!!!!! AMAZING!!! You definitely brought the Lisa Frank dream to life! I would say Gunne Sax (from my teens), but as a little kid, I was into beautiful regal clothes long before that. Madame Bonfamille, Lady Tremaine, Queen Leah, Queen Grimhilde, Darling, Maleficent, these were my gals. I guess, I already brought them back. HUZZAH!!! Keep up the good work!
Very pretty 😀
I just use zip ties. For the boning, because it is much cheaper and much sturdier.
I would have wanted to do a dolphin lisa frank one instead. Could a dirndle be mixed with a bunad?
That would be so cool! Do it! You can absolutely mix it up with bunad, they have such similar origins!
@@DaisyViktoria can I find that dolphin in fabric? Where? I need to find a dirmdle and bunaf pattern.
Hey can I ask where you get those eyelet filigree things from? I was looking but I can't figure out the search terms at all.
Looks like they are the eye parts of a hook and eye set. Look for filigree/decorative “hook and eye” or “clasp” or “fastener”.
Greetings from Bavaria. What you made hardly resembles a real Dirndl, though there are tons of American and Northern German tourists who wear a lot more atrociously looking things to Oktoberfest🙈
But here is a little fun fact about the aprons bow. If you tie the bow on your left hip it means you are single, if you tie it on the right side it means you are taken. If you tie it in the front it means you are a virgin (this is hardly ever done nowdays because let's be real - who wants to be running around telling people they are a virgin?) If you tie it in the back you are either a widow - or it simple means you work as a waitress and need the bow there out of practicallity 😂
I really appreciate the little "listen to your body" reminders. It's very easy to forget that.
It's so true! It's easy to forget that and try to push through more than we should. I'm so guilty!
