America Bravo. Great choices of colors, really helpful hints and amazing video. Thank you for sharing.🤍🖤🤎💜💙💚💯👋
It looks like you quilted a gorgeous piece of fabric.
GREAT Video! Perfect instruction! Perfect speed! NOT to fast, and, NOT to slow! Thanks for making this video.
Hi, thanks for showing how you mix your cell activator. Love how you showed the different colours & how each turned out‼️ Fantastic ♥️💕☘️☘️ Cheers
Great job thoes color combo's are Awesome 👌 👏
This is the first time I have ever seen a video for you....... I love you style......✌🙏🤗✌🙏🤗
Awh thank you so much!
Thank you so much! Beautiful!
Thank you so much America, I have tried and tried an failed miserably ... maybe this will be the fix!
You art is amazing🎉❤
Absolutely Gorgeous....You make it look so easy and fun.
Just ran into your channel and subscribed. Thank you for sharing!!
So pretty 😊
Delightful, thank you🙏🏻
I’m glad I came across this video showing how different paint brands work for CA. It’s all in the Aussie floetrol. Now I will branch out on more then just Amsterdam. Thank you. 💜
I'm happy you found my video helpful 💜💚 Any requests on what you might want to learn?
amazing presentation of the info in the vi
d
I came across your channel today and I just wanted to show some love because I thoroughly enjoyed your tutorial and the style you used to present the information! Im a fulltime visual artist and I also use fluid acrylics to cope with my chronic health issues (Lupus,Sjogrens Syndrome & Fibro). I subscribed to your channel and look forward to watching more of your videos!
Omigosh! I am SUPER glad you found my channel!!!
Just a tip I came across this past week. If you put Floetrol inside your teaspoon first the paint will just flow out.
Excellent tip! Just did that today and boy did I used to make it harder for myself 😅
@@AmericasAbstracts happy it worked for you.
I wish I had seen this 3 years ago! lol - Great Tip!
I watch your video to refresh my memory on the CA since I haven't painted in about 6 weeks. I was a little disappointed that you sped up all the video when you were showing how the CA flowed off your spatula. But it did remind me that Guache is a good for CA. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing your recipe. It really works well
I like that jazz flute at the end
Great tips America!
Thank you!!!!
Rocked this video lady 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks lady! Holy moly, I don't know how I didn't see this until now?
My first video of yours and thank you for sharing your recipe! One suggestion; look straight ahead and not up when filming because your not really speaking to your audience but something up above.
That looks like a tablespoon you're using?
For small amounts this is accurate enough however weight and volume are not equal except for water. On the scales you get milligrams (weight) and in the measures you have millilitres (volume) on a ruler you have millimetres (length). In metric, 1 litre water = 1 kilogram = 10 cm cubed this is what it is based on.
True! In my case though, it's more beneficial to stick to small amounts for cell activators. Thank you for your input!💚💜
I was wondering the same thing… How would you get an accurate 3:1 ratio when you’re measuring one by weight and the other by volume?
@@darylanncrosby I could swear she used a tablespoon and not teaspoon. Is it just me?
Can you please elaborate on the artist loft gloss gel that you used in your CA? I am not sure if I saw that right it went so fast and you didn’t say much about it.
Thanks a lot for this amazing video! Would you tell us what the mixture of the pillow is? I am practicing for 6 months now and I cant find the right mixture, I am desperate 🤣
The pillow was "Sherwin Williams Color2Go Tricorn Black"
FYI: a baby wipe or wet ones with alcohol will clean up your scale and bottles in quick time.
Excellent tip! Thank you for sharing!
This is beautiful! What if I can’t find Australian floetrol anywhere?? 😔
milliliters are a measure of volume, not weight. otherwise, great info
Does the Floetrol create the cell patterns?
Hola soy de argentina no entendi que usas como.activador me puedes explicar? Gracias
nice job, i just mixed up some ca using this formula, but with golden fluid. i would like to know what your paint mixing procedure is so i can move on to that. thx
Why do you add the Gel?
Just an FYI - Opaque watercolor is pronounced GWASH. I hope that helps.
Use press and seal on your scale to keep it clean. mess goes rite in the trash when your done. I use it when I work. CLEAN UPS A BREEZE!
That's a fantastic idea! My scale is beyond keeping clean now, but when I get a new one, I have hope it will stay nice for longer!
From one chronic illness warrior to another, hi! 👋🏻
Heya!!! Do you think people might be interested in a video about my life w/ chronic illnesses?
@@AmericasAbstracts sure! It'd give them a different perspective of how hard it is to paint, or do life in general honestly, with chronic illnesses. I know for me personally, every day is different. Good day, OKish days and down right shitty days. I know I'd watch! 😊 We can compare notes. 😂
What is the difference between floetrol and Australia floetrol?
I mix my ca like you do when I go to blow it I have no cells what am I doing wrong
Are you pouring this onto a ceramic tile? Sorry I am just researching before I start. Love your work 💕
I am thinking that too. I wanted to know what it's on.
O que você usa na Tinta para fazer o processo de ativador?
Great video, except I noticed that you didn't elaborate in this video, what you PM recipe is.
my apologies, I thought I linked the video where I mixed up my PM, as this video focused on my cell activator.
@@AmericasAbstracts I kno I probably sound like an idiot after watching the vid and asking this, but I’m still pretty knew do anything will help. Idk y I’m not able to get larger cells than I do now. I’ve done different mixes of Floe/Paint and sometimes water to thin it, and also played around with adding silicone but no luck really. Their pretty but not what I want. I tried even thinning out the swipe color (black or white usually) to see if it would open up but same pretty much. Any advice? Lol 🙉
@@OG-Gonzoe Super sorry that I am just now seeing this! Are you using Amsterdam Titanium White or Amsterdam Oxide (or Lamp) black?
@@OG-Gonzoe you have to use high pigment colors for the CA. You can use Mars Black, Oxide Black, Titanium white. ( most brands carry it) any of the oxide shades, some blues and some purples. Tge higher the pigment number, the more dense it is. It's not the Floetrol that is the magic ingredient although it helps in times one doesn't use the paints themselves to activate cells. Which is what I do. One think you don't want to use for cells are paints like zinc white. That paint is transparent not opaque and it's lighter. If you don't know how to tell if a paint is opaque, look on the back of the tube or bottle for a little square. If it's all black, it's opaque. If half of it is black, it's semi, if it's empty, it's transparent. There are numbers on the back also which tells what pigments were used. You then look up the number on a density chart and it will give you the density number( Golden has one yiu can google) This is good to know if you ever want to try it using density. Hit me up if you decide to. Now it's very important that you measure exactly when measuring paint and Floe for the CA. Let me put this easier for you.
A TBSP is 3xs bigger than a teaspoon.
Therefore it takes 3 teasp to make 1 TBSP. Which also = 15 ml.
The ratio is 3 to 1.
So you measure out 1 TBSP of Floetrol
And 1 teaspoon of paint.
Your 1 TBSP is your 3 ( being 3 teasp)
And your 1is your teasp of paint. = 3 to 1 ratio
So measure it out that way. If you need more than double, trip etc the recipe. Stir it really good. Remember to shake the Floetrol good before. And stir it again right before using it. You can use this as a swiping CA, You can use it on blooms when placed on top of your paints before blowing them. Note if you're going to do a bloom, you really want to get a spinner. It's the spinning and tilting that is the magic for that. If you must use silicone, I'd only do 2 drops in each paint and no more. The more oil you add doesn't mean more cells. It means more oil left on top of your painting. Stir on two fast stirs and when you go to torch it, hold your torch high off the painting and go pretty fast. The closer the flame the smaller the cells. When I do flip cups , I layer my paints where the most dense goes in first to the bottom and layer it from most dense to least abd I make enough to fill the cup to just near the top. Kinda important you do that. So when I fkip the cup while pressed to my canvas upside down, I now have the most dense on top on down to the least. My top heavier paints will sink to the bottom while my less dense paints will float to tge surface carrying colors with them and creating cells. Like I said if you ever want to try that way, I'd be happy to walk you through it.
Floetrol is not a medium. It is simply a paint leveler that painters use to make the paint flow easier. So when you throw paint on it and it moves or you tilt or spin it, it is the force of the flow along with the right density layers to create the magic. I hope that helps some and to others who may read this. Didn't intend to write a book. Lol
Thank you for the great video! But please, if I got it right, you put the colors with fluetrol ( as a cell activator) on the top of all paints ( that are without fluetrol)?
Yeah, so the 3 "layers" of a bloom or swipe are: pillow, your colors (untinted base paint +color+ varnish) and your cell activator(s)
Are all these colors opaque?
Why do you add gloss gel
For the thinner paints that i make into a CA, they need the gloss gel to keep a good consistency and not break down once I add my floetrol :)
Thank you very much
I didn't see any gloss gel??? And the liquitex, is the CA already in certain colors or that's where u added the CA? I'm confused & sick with ailments also & wanted to try something like this but I'm not sure what the CA is. Do u ever do these on canvases? I love them.
Thank you so much! I added a tiny bit at a time (off screen i believe) only to the thinner paints (Liquitex gouache &golden fluids)
And yes I do do this style on canvas, but I have definitely stared to prefer wood as a substrate
Does anyone know the chemical difference in American floetrol and Australian floetrol?
Nope, not exactly. But they react differently
Is tje tricone black and aqua flash mixed with anything?
Tricone black is my pillow paint, but the aqua flash, as well as my other colors are mixed with my PM!

Hello
Вся красота слетела. Много краски лишней
Is there no recipie out there WITHOUT the aussi Flotreol....NOOOOO😱
There is, I just prefer the consistency of the Aussie Floetrol
I agree. Totally frustrating to watch the videos and not be able to use same product.
That is no secret….😂
FYI: It's pronounced gwash.
Thank you for your knowledge!
Is this a recipe video or a video on watching you mix paint . Hate to be rude but no one wants to sit through a whole video on watching a person mix paint. Sorry
Pronounce like gwash
Sorry, I have a weak stomach, and your rings in your lips made me go somewhere else. Ouch!
Wow that was rude
How rude. No need to say anything if that’s how you feel!
