Ya my take is when you're hunting group gets a big one you all win, a neighbor as long as he's a good neighbor it's still good, it a good thing to have a good hunting community everybody wins

The Nathan Miller photo, I was by myself for the recovery of the deer (had to lay overnight) and could not physically get him in any other position due to his size. Should have seen me trying to get him where he was! lol dressed out at 242 lbs. Biggest whitetail body I have ever seen and biggest buck by far I have ever had a chance at. Thanks!

Ok, so I get the idea of "let him grow" and I practice qdm on public and private. However, most of the folks don't have hundreds of private acres to hunt, endless ag, no poaching, no baiting....you get it...and neighbors that practice qdm so sometimes "let him grow" isn't going to happen. I have had a small lease for 4 yrs. I have seen several bucks over the years that I thought would be "great next year" only to never see them again. So I think more realistically, the approach is what do you want to kill and what is achievable for your area/property because the first time may be the last time you see him. IMHO

The fact you guys even get the chance to hunt mature bucks, and have neighbors that also target mature bucks.. is amazing. You dont understand how fortunate you are as far as hunting goes. There is 0 reason for you to be upset.

I've seen a lot of big deer on the properties I have hunted over the years. Even confirmed they have made through the season well into early spring only to never see the same deer the next season. This happens more often than not. Where they go, I will never know. Had a handful of potential giants on one specific property last year. I didn't see any of them this season.

Of course it’s hard. If not impossible to feel disappointed when someone else ( neighbor or even your hunting buddy) gets the bucks you’ve been hunting… you make it personal when you begging to target specific bucks, and pass on others in and effort to harvest “your Buck”. That said, as I have grown older.. I find myself “almost” as happy for the other person when they harvest that great Buck! Unless I find that they have bathed him in or some other unethical means… it’s hunting and it’s fantastic for that other person. I would go out of my way to make them feel great about their Buck as well!
    Great episode guys!

Great job, Troy, and a perfect shot!
A couple years ago I shot a 4.5 year old 9 point. This animal had been hunted by a neighbor of the friend that was letting me hunt a particular stand.
He was a field dressed 206 lb that scored 116 7/8”, which is a really nice deer for NH.
The guy looked me up on FB, and congratulated me, but he was pretty bummed.
It was the only time I ever laid eyes on this deer, and I was in the right place at the right time!
    Sorry Todd!!

I've only hunted public land. So it goes to the body size. 193 doe was my first deer hunting with my grandfather and uncles in Maine. For years I let others go by, not knowing just how big my first deer was. haha

Wild animals, not yours or my deer, hate that term my deer. Free ranging animals. Be happy for our neighbors if they deserve it.

I would have held out for the monster at 7:40 all the rest of the bucks in this video looked like puppy dogs compared to that one.

I have 100% felt this way. But If its taken in a legit true fashionable way, then its friendly jibein and some fun making but im happy for you and i love you for it because that is a memory we both now share. And what i mean is this, if its taken with a bow or a good rifle season sit im all for it. But imo if your running dogs or driving, thats not hunting to me and then yeah........there may be some words lol.

I have a couple wireless stealth cams… if something goes wrong with it good luck getting it fixed. The contact number is not Stealth it’s a support group that contacts Stealth and then Stealth technical support is supposed call you. I been waiting months, I’ve called several times since early October and no resolution yet. I haven’t even talked to Stealth tech support cause they haven’t called. I’m considering canceling all this stealth crap at the end of the season and going with someone else. The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Only reason I haven’t yet is because I have 2 that are still working. I won’t need them after season so I’m likely going away from Stealth

Owning and hunting a relatively small property, I know the feeling all too well! I have killed bucks others were after and have had others kill bucks I have been after! It’s easy to become jealous when it happens, but it’s all part of hunting.

I shot the biggest buck of my life this year. It was right before it got dark I wasn’t overly sure about the hit so I gave it some time and went out the following morning after the dog tracker told me he couldn’t get there until 11 he told me to go out around 7 to follow blood. Met a guy out in the field while tracking good blood. I did not find the deer. Once the tracker got there we tracked up to a gut pile in 5 minutes. Deer was found and taken by someone else. That’s bow hunting I guess @bowhuntordie

So that happened this year to my buddy. Nieghbor shot his target 10+ point deer so he reconfigured and shot a bigger 8+ point buck that he didn’t think was as big. I shot my target buck that left a great big 10 point that should be 5 1/2. Great shot, great buck, sorry Todd.

Better that another hunter harvested the buck. I picked up a great buck that was hit by a car. Found out it was a buck that my friend had been hunting for 2 years. I ended up giving him the buck because I had no history with it.
