Apropos of nothing - Brig is short for Brigantine which was a small sailing ship used for the transport of prisoners from ship to shore. This was a powerful episode. I didn't recognize Gigi Edgely either, but her performance was great.
What I liked about Tos is that everybody can't be at their stations 24/7 so I must assume Kirk's shift(and star trek adventures)take place during their 9 to 5 shift but Kirk can come in early or stay late. Luckily not much happens during his 'down' time. I mention this because 'Come not..' seems to return to the idea first touched on in "Conscious of the King" that the Enterprise ambient light is set on a 24 hr cycle. Other decks would be on their own 24 hrs cycle so the people on every shift would be working their 9 to 5. Suddenly it makes sense why they're 430ish people aboard the ship. As I said, we are lucky most 'adventures' happen during Kirk's 'office hours'😉
I like to think the other shifts randomly arrive at whatever planet we're visiting this week, and then hang around in orbit and play some cards until Kirk wakes up. 😄
This one became my favorite episode of STC. There was less talking and more action. Not that I don't like talking mind you but they could get a little to much on Continues. They kept improving as the show progressed and then it ended. How sad I was.
All your tos call backs are fantastic, I wish more Trek fans would find your channel. I've seen plenty of Trek reactors, and although I enjoy many of them, I feel like you pick up on things others don't, and sometimes bring up things that I've never considered
Haha, alas, I think I may scare people off more quickly than other channels do. 😄 As for "young minds, fresh ideas", I'll take it (although I'm maybe older than I look) 😅
There's always a gap between father and son if only for generation differences, but we can always build a "bridge" to cover that gap. ("A Bridge Over Troubled Waters")
I have never even heard of this series before I saw it on your channel....(and technically I didn't watch it here either, but I thought I'd stop in with a hello (to check out your patreon's latest uploads...)
At 3:24,
The stocky red-shirt on the bridge that hands Kirk a Micro Tape,
was none other than
Mr. Rod Roddenberry Jr. himself!
Oh fantastic! It really speaks to the quality of this series that they're getting approval from his family. That's great! 😊
As we saw before with this series, it has a clear message to it.
Yeah, each episode has its own clear focus for sure!

Oh wow. That's not nothing at all. I had no idea that Brig had any other origin than just a name for what it was. That's super cool! 😊
All the little details in the opening make this Enterprise more alive than TOS.
Yeah, I like it. I guess that's the advantage of having a lot of time to think about your episode, and what you'd like to see in it.
10:31 Spock overcome by a wave of anger growls in true Anime style. His voice acting experiences paid off here
I should watch something that they've all voice acted in at some point. 😄

"Brace for anger!". 😅
Hehe, as an aside, I wonder if it would help to be prepared for it. Like biting down on something before pain.
@@ahatfulofreactions1414 deep breaths for 10 seconds sounds too slow.

Yeah, I like to think there's a good balance between action episodes and speech episodes. 😄

@harrybroos5691 like Kirk told Scotty, "young minds, fresh ideas . . ."
@Stardate1312.4 Aye, and if my grandmother had wheels, she'd be a wagon

Is a different principle, but this is similar to what happened in "The Day of the Dove" episode.
Ah yes! That's a great parallel. I should have referenced that one.

Hello! We're very halloween focused on Patreon over the next week or so. About 5 crappy movies (and 1 good one) 😅
