I understand why David reacted the way he did, and Joyce having to stop it. If David threw a picture of Chloe and her dad, mfs would lose their shit about what he did. 🤔🤔🤔
I really couldn't do it. I went through something similar in my life and the person in question was very like David; strict, antagonistic and not really considerate of the fact that i didn't want them to be a replacement parent. But they never did anything sentimental like this. Even though i didn't like them being around, a gesture like this would have made me feel a lot better about the situation. Considering it from Chloe's perspective, at this point she seems a lot more uncomfortable as opposed to truly hostile towards David. Especially given how Davids explanation lines up really well with whats going on in Chloe's life with Rachel, she would have taken it. Seems like at this stage things hadn't heated up to boiling point yet, and while rejecting it was a very "Chloe" choice, i think its future Chloe more than current one.
Dianne Wright I agree that "future Chloe" would most likely take the rejection choice, but this time period Chloe could've just said no. David's photo contained him and a DEAD man who fought in the army. Throwing that photo to the ground was her pretty much saying "Fuck you and your dead friend". To be honest; they both need counselling, because it gets worse in the future. Chloe becomes a VERY troubled teen who just wants to cause trouble, and run away from it. While David becomes an aggressive control freak. Also, I'm sorry you had to go through that when having a step father.
I accepted the offer, not because I felt Chloe wanted to give David much of a chance, but simply because it made her mother happy. Joyce has gone through a lot too, and seeing her daughter and David at eachothers throats all the time must have been so heartbreaking every time. Chloe does have a right to still hate him however, especially considering how he acts by the time of the original game. Overall, I liked seeing the beginning of their relationship; both of them are still trying to see where they stand, and even though David apparently still refuses to respect Chloe's boundaries later, it's nice to see an attempt on David's part, at least in the beginning.
He doesn’t seem to respect her because he’s going through her shit like she wasn’t living in the house anymore after one fucking day. How could you live in a house with somebody you never had the chance to choose if you want him around? It’s Joyce’s fault she’s half the way she is mind you, the other part of her dad’s death.
The photo is fine tho. She could have ripped it up or stomped on it, but all she did was DROP it and it floated down just fine without damage. She was making a point.
@@shackal2584 But it’s an excuse to treat your girlfriend’s daughter like she’s a problem that needs to be reinforced? Stop defending the abuser for once and understand that Chloe has every right to be “rude” to David
its really hard to like David's old-fashioned stubbornness, especially since he has such horrible timing. Just when things look like they might start to heal, he asks chloe to empty her pockets or look through her room. But you know he really does mean well, and just when he finally showed a moment of vulnerability to just plain disrespect the memory of a fallen friend is just too much, even for chloe. I happily accepted the photo.
To be honest I don't know why people hate on David for wanting to search Chloes stuff, she's literally a drug addict and gets involved with horrible people and she's not even 18 yet. I can see if she didn't do anything wrong, but considering she does I don't blame David for wanting to search her stuff all the time.

That is so not like David, one of those things I think needs improvement in this game is the matching of character personality from the prequel. What happened to him harassing, pointing fingers, threatening, slapping and sneak taking photos? Searching the room is only one example and that’s not enough to show how paranoid or violent he is.
Well as far as I understand he built up his paranoia over time in the house. Plus he becomes school security later which gives him higher self-confidence, I think.
Ivy Lum well he was just getting to know Chloe and other stuff so when she kept repeatingly disrespecting more more over time that's when the craziness kicked in
Fun Fact: Everything he does relates to the disappearance of Rachel Amber. He was the only one investigating the problem. He faces mental problems all the time. His paranoia is his fear of Chloe going missing or getting hurt, he harassed students because he thinks they're suspicious, he invaded privacy with photos to find leads on the "Vortex Club" issue. The room searching is a shared responsibility between Joyce and David. The only time he begins to become violent is when he had enough of Chloe's shit. Other than that, he is aggressive as hell. Yeah, he hates Chloe, still doesn't change he wouldn't protect her. After all he puts other's safety above his own, he's just really bad with people and showing it. What he did is pretty wrong, but he took the matter into his own hand to protect the other students. Which is why I sided with him on my first playthrough on the original LiS, as I can tell what he was doing. As a prequel, this fits his personality a lot, especially that this is David on the few years before Max.
This is one of many reasons why this series was pointless. In the original game, Chloe wanted nothing to do with David. There was no hint they had an on and off connection. Here, you can be buddies. So...then what happened? She just changed her mind and started to be a jerk to him?
No, the thing is in the original David was like etalon of douche. Here they're relationships only at the start, so she still doesn't know how bad this could be. If i don't remeber bad in LiS she said first times he was nice so it make sense, they always wanted to make him look like a turd all times, even if he's a good heart one and this scene marks more why he act like, well a turd sometimes.. i think if we see things right on point of view from David he's not so evil in the end, imho..

People are really mad she threw the photo, and I agree it's disrespectful, but David is disrespectful through the entire game. He's also pretty awful in the original game. He's sexist and rude and he can't handle the words of a teenage girl, so he slaps her. And I'm sorry, but losing a partner in a war you _chose_ to fight in is not the same as losing a parent. I don't like his comparison. I don't like the way he said Chloe was on "vacation" from having a father figure, as if she was having fun. I wish the game was a little more nuanced, because she wasn't wrong to reject his offer, but I wish she'd done it with a little more class.
chocolate watermelon28 I mean not really though. After I lost my dad and someone stepped into his place it took YEARS for me to actually get comfortable with them and get along with them. It’s not something that happens overnight, a few weeks or a few years... it’s ALWAYS a process.

I feel like it would be very in character for Chloe to accept the photo anyways, sure she can be super stubborn but Chloe would never stoop that low, especially not with her mom there with them, and I don’t think it would fit her character to stoop this low so I chose to accept too
I always like Chloe Price to give his stepdads a chance, it would hurt terribly if Chloe Price just throw the picture on the ground like that... it would hurt David more losing his friend in military just like Chloe Price's Dad

- When she got busted for smoking pot, she threw Max under the bus to protect herself, and not considering Max's future (even Max said "I need to think about my own future"). Then she gets mad at Max for telling the truth.
- She gets tries to guilt trip Max into not answering Kate's phone call (a quick phone call).
- She stole a gun. It is illegal. (Then shoots herself stupidly)
- She suggested stealing from the handicapped fund to pay back her drug dealer.
- She doesn't want to be responsible for anything. "Gotta blame somebody otherwise it's my fault"
Losing a parent doesn't justify anything. Ot explains certain behaviors bit never justifies being a bad person. There are people who lost some one important to them and they don't turn out to be bad people. It is how you handle it is what defines you. Chloe choose to make bad choices.
@@Lilothestitch Saying "David deserved to lose a friend" is the same as saying that the friend deserved to die just because of DAVID's actions (nothing the friend has to do with). Chloe simps are so immoral
The only reason I accepted it was because just agreeing Would get it pver with and it would be good for Joyce....for once.
Given her character, I am suprised she didn't shred it.
So i take it rejecting is canon because of how he treats ans hurts and hit Chloe
let’s be real chloe only accepted for joyce
How come even if you try to be nice to David as much as possible he and Chloe still fight throughout in Life Is Strange
Because like Telltale, this series only has the illusion of choice. And the fact this prequel was made after the main game.
So it is just a plot hole
Pretty much sadly. This game only gives more info as to why Chloe gives such a damn about rachel but other than that its kind of it.
chocolate watermelon28 I mean not really though. After I lost my dad and someone stepped into his place it took YEARS for me to actually get comfortable with them and get along with them. It’s not something that happens overnight, a few weeks or a few years... it’s ALWAYS a process.
They shouldn't have done a prequel. The original already had plot holes here and there, and Before the storm created so many more.
Maybe it's because I'm from a military family, but I just don't have the heart to have her throw the photo on the floor in disrespect.
THAT is the ONLY time I have Chloe be nice to David! The rest, she's her normal rebellious self!
I feel like it would be very in character for Chloe to accept the photo anyways, sure she can be super stubborn but Chloe would never stoop that low, especially not with her mom there with them, and I don’t think it would fit her character to stoop this low so I chose to accept too
Welcome to SAVAGE 101 with Chloe Price
Well but Chloe must not really reject the photo cause chloe and were going through the same fate .
Yeet
I enjoyed it when you rejected david
I always like Chloe Price to give his stepdads a chance, it would hurt terribly if Chloe Price just throw the picture on the ground like that... it would hurt David more losing his friend in military just like Chloe Price's Dad
I rejected his offer i know how chloe feels and If i was her i would do anything to Get david out of her family
Yezzy X I did the same thing. I was too angry at him because he searched her room.
@antonio buenrostro um what are you talking about ?
@antonio buenrostro I was asking you what you mean about saying y'all need to grow up and you weren't even talking to anyone lol just joking no need to reply
I’m going to sic Brittnay Matthews on David Madsen.
I actually like David, I think he really tries to be there for her and make them happy
No he doesn’t
@@Lilothestitchdo you ever leave your room 😂
Second part suits perfect, never liked David for his creepy attitude of melting nose in other people's business.
Me neither.
Been awhile since i played the game, did the game show Chloe getting a tattoo and dying her hair?
Well I was thinking about rejecting the photo coz it's important to David but I knew Chole is gonna throw it on the ground like a bit*h....it's too disrespectful. So I have no choice but to accept it even I think it's a stupid idea of David giving me this photo...what is Chloe going to do about it?
Who the hell played chole for this game
Rhianna DeVries
maldade não aceitar
People pissing me off with the reject photo thing.
She can't hate him 100% of the time. This whole Keep Chloe In Character thing is bullshit
It’s hilarious because as we later find out, she didn’t hate him 100% of the time.
I’m glad I rejected his photograph. He deserved it.
David is a abusive piece of shit and Chloe had every right to reject his photograph
Rejecting it makes no sense. They couldn't hate each other all the time. There had to be good moments. And throwing the picture down is just too rude.
And who cares about being "in character". You make the game choices. Not the character.
Actually rejecting it does make sense
LOL bts make no sense
Huh?
I feel bad for David and consider accepting it, then remember his attitude throughout the game up until that point and nope the fuck out.
Tbh Joyce and David are a good couple. They’re actually a really cute couple. And Joyce is actually happy with David so it’s good. 🥺💜
Eww. No I hate that couple. It’s bad.
@@Lilothestitch Yeah but he gets his redemption back tbh. Yes he was very controlling person. And I understood his character end of the game lis1
@@erenjaeger1738I don’t think that counts as him redeeming himself. Doing one good deed doesn’t make up for 3 years of physically emotionally and verbally abusing Chloe and stalking and harassing high school girls.
@Lilothestitch true it takes step by steps. I mean, the game ended that way, so I would assume he got his shit together. And damn this was 11 months ago :(
@@erenjaeger1738 I just hate that people keep justifying his abusive behavior. David doesn’t respect Chloe’s boundaries or anyone’s boundaries.
I despise David Madsen and Phil Becker.
Why u got so much beef with david 💀
@@Hazzard1212 Because David Madsen is a Grade A Asshole just like Jane from Telltale’s The Walking Dead and Ryan Clayton from Beyond Two Souls. He physically emotionally and verbally abused Chloe and stalked and harassed high school girls.
And if you take the blame david says " im sick of you losers dragging chloe down" he said that to defend CHLOE
@@Hazzard1212 That wasn’t to defend Chloe. He was verbally abusing her and Max. He even threatened Max.
@@Lilothestitchit was to defend chloe. If it wasnt he wouldve probably said "im sick of you losers dragging people down"
I would have accepted the photo
I’m so glad I rejected David’s photograph. He deserved it. Chloe did the right thing there when she rejected his photo. That’s what he gets for searching her room.
Ok I understand that this comment is 7 months old. I get that rejecting the photograph seems to be an alright option since it takes a while for someone to forgive someone else for searching through their own private space. However, disrespecting David's dead friend is way too much, even for Chloe. She should have just given the photo back or set it back on the table before announcing how she feels about David.
Imagine if after Chloe stole one of David's guns in the first game and he takes one of the photos of her and her father and lights it on fire? Chloe would feel the same way that David did. I get that David is a paranoid dick but you have to draw a line somewhere.
@@crytex6441 That doesn’t justify him abusing her and invading her privacy. Chloe had every right to reject his photograph. What David did shows that he can’t be trusted. I knew he was abusive from the beginning. He never had any respect for her boundaries so why should Chloe have any respect for him?
@@Lilothestitch It's less her disrespecting him and more her disrespecting his friend who was killed in action. Even though he is trying to make their relationship work earlier in the game, his actions of going through her personal belongings kinda shatters the trust between Chloe and David. I understand if you don't want to respect him personally. But Chloe should not disrespect a fallen soldier simply because she doesn't like David. I don't know about you but that rubs me the wrong way about Chloe.
@@crytex6441 Maybe if he didn’t treat her like shit, she wouldn’t have rejected his photograph. Plus I don’t care about his dead friend. Having PTSD is not an excuse to beat kids and invading their privacy. Not to mention he demanded respect from Chloe Price and told her that she had enough of a vacation from having a father figure. What kind of douchebag tells her that especially after she lost her father? Fuck that guy for saying that.
@@Lilothestitch Chloe has no respect for anyone’s privacy either. She snoops through everyone’s search history like it’s no big deal.
This is the worst DLC I've played in a while.
The first two episodes weren't that bad, but episode three was all over the place.
AngelFromTheNightmare I still don't see why it needs to exist honestly. It mostly just consists of filler between Chloe and Rachel that we didn't need to see. Seriously nothing about Jefferson, her kidnapping or Nathan. Pointless story
if they only brought up something like that in episode 3 man. They shouldn't just have showed the first 3 days. They should have showed the whole years from 2010 till the day rachel went missing.
This is not DLC
It's true that you don't see anything of Jefferson in here, but Nathan's character is explored a little bit here and there.
When you are at the hospital, Nathan's dad is talking to a psychiatrist who basically tells him "Nathan could potentially be dangerous".
You see that everyone has rejected him and/or pushed him away in the play and watching Nathan's photo in Rachel's room.
It's not a lot, but it's there.
