  • Hydrofoil trimaran prototype sailing on Pittwater in Sydney. The video demonstrates how easy it can be to sail fast on foils even in very light winds.
    The boat used is a forerunner to a soon to be released production model called the FlyTri marketed by Hydrofoil Australia.

    wow, surprised to see that it looks like the sensor is simply directly connected to the pivot of the entire foil/board. I see a pylon to lift the foil up, so it looks like the foil has a few degrees of pitch, and can be raised and lowered. It's a much simpler system than a moth foil. I'm wondering if the forward sensor ever dives? does this work well in bigger waves? hmm from the lawn shot I see the foils look at least a meter high, but you fly it quite low.

    It looks as though the surface sensor controls the angle of the complete t-foil, not just a trim tab on the horizontal wing on the bottom. Is that correct?
