Even though my mill is entirely homebuilt, it works very well. I built it as a way to mill my own lumber for projects around my little ranch here in Missouri, but as people found out I milled lumber, I have milled thousands of feet for different neighbors . It has more than paid for its self and I find it rather interesting how each log turns out and the quality of the lumber it yields. I think my next mod will be to find a way to fabricate and install a de-barker. My mill is mobile, and my last outside job I did on shares and ended up with a couple very nice white oak logs. Currently, I'm working on a deal to mill some cedar on shares. Red Cedar is quite common here but good cedar isn't always easy to come by & this fellow has some real nice logs. Enough about me. Have a great week and keep the dust flying! Ed
@@jbarlazye911 I've thought about a debarker as well. I don't think it would be too difficult to build. It sure would make a big difference in blade life. Thanks Ed for the comment. Have a great week.
good morning Jerry congrats on getting your buck never know for sure what's in a log until you cut it open like the fact that if your not happy the customer won't be thats getting lost nowadays unfortunately have a great week
@@glenmomrik727 thank you Glen. I'm tagged out except for my doe now. Exactly right. I cut 2 more of those columns and he picked the 2 he liked. He was very pleased. I used the others for blocking under lumber. Have a great week.
That water valve has been the pain of everybody's day for a while now. I think Frontier sits back and just giggles watching everybody talk about it. I guess if they're talking about it they're talking about their Mills so that's good marketing I suppose LOL. Regarding the lumber you just never know until you open it. Have a great day Mike.
I've got to agree whole heartedly with you about the water valve. I put a plastic shutoff that you would find on a generator on mine and opened the factory one full open. I adjust with the plastic valve and it works much better. Gotta hate those worm holes. Ya just never know what galaxy you'll end up in.
Maybe they're using these water valves as a marketing tool. All the people who talk about these crappy valves are least talking about the Mills. Lol. Like you said you just never know what you're going to get when you open a log up. Have a great day Jim. Thanks for the continued support.
@@inthebackyardwithdel438 thanks Del. It's always like Christmas. You just never know what you're going to get. Thanks for the comment and the continued support. Have a great week my friend.
You are right on the money with this one. I had a customer come to be who wanted 45m of 15mm siding which isn't available over here and I did that no problem on the mill. Great job there, shame about the log though buddy 👏
That also allows us to charge what we do. It's custom. Not something you're just going to go to the hardware store or the lumber yard to get. I'm a very big fan of our sawmills.
@@BigelowWoodcraft Yes it does buddy, its great to be able to create our very own custom sized timber. Great going buddy, always a pleasure seeing what your on with.
We would appreciate it if you would subscribe. It really helps the channel. Thank you.

Good morning Jerry, nice looking lumber. Too bad it didn’t give you what you needed.
The water valve is definitely a POS.

I have to believe that the log roller is next on both of our agendas?
You are not kidding. Wait until you see this log I did recently. 28 inch red oak. Yuck! Have a great one Tim.
@@BigelowWoodcraft Thank God for your tractor and loader!! Can't imagine a 28" log totally by hand!! Can't wait!
