I've my own initial impressions, (a bit over 400 words worth according, to my script, would've made a rather lengthy comment), so I ended up doing my own video on it, but that aside, Imit Ultraman never crossed my mind, though it's an interesting point of comparison. I saw a close up of Arc's eyes and immediately thought it was a cross between the tradition egg-eyes, and the more geometric eyes sported by Seven, Taro, and Leo.
Feels like they are trying to stride back to traditional. Also from what i heard, the main director who really loves Showa Ultraman, so instead of trying to one up Blazar, he did the opposite style. Thus it looks more to a classic ultra. Tho im looking forward to more news and more kaiju design.
Honestly I think the move to not one up Blazar is a good one. Ultimately, going back to the basics every now and then is nice. Though I am definitely hoping for more unique Kaijus like in Blazar, instead of spamming returning Kaijus
