I have also been chased by Dogs many times (in India). It is scary but has to be handled with care and alertness. Don't race at too high speeds to escape them, it may lead to a fall!

The reason for this is because those dogs view those bikes as prey to chase,those dogs thing the bikes are prey that are running away from them. That's why this is so dangerous because those dogs are not playing, they are trying to attack you and maybe even kill you because they view you as prey.
