I’m loving this journey! Also love you having your own space. There’s something so refreshing and freeing about being in your own apartment where you can make your own rules and do what you want. Also this is reminding me of how chaotic my own shelves are that I’ve been ignoring 😂
I had no idea you were a Shawol!!!! It's so cute you took your Jonghyun albums, fitting albums in is such a struggle but at least Jonghyun's are all a similar size and fit well together!
So true! Aesthetics are beautiful and happy making, but then the trouble finding everything, ugh! I swear, publishers need to all sit down and pick a paperback size and only use that one! Drives me nuts to have multiple sizes (hardback vs paperback aside) on the same shelf but sometimes the only copy of a book I want that I can find is a weird size so it’s either be annoyed at my shelf or miss out on an amazing read. 🤬
These moving vlogs have been so fun to watch thus far and I'm so glad you've brought your books along on this big journey of yours. I wish you the very best and hope your new home is filled with lots of love and laughter☺️🤍
This was such a delightful video to watch on my Saturday morning! I’ve got my books categories by genre as well, which is helpful when I know I’m the mood for a certain genre but not necessarily a certain book. I nearly spilled my chai everywhere laughing when that massive stack of books fell 😂 good luck with setting up the rest of your apartment!
It looks great! So excited for you and this new stage of life! I org mine mostly by rainbow but I also have specific areas where I display pretty books and series. So it's a little mix. I'm very visual so for me, I remember what covers look like which makes finding by color easiest for me, most of the time. Congratulations on the new apt!! 🎉
My dad put extra screws in my bookshelves to attach them to each other. That does make holes in the sides, so it might not be ideal if you plan on using the shelves in a different place later, but they are very neatly next to each other without gaps
I organize my books by genre or vibe, but i also dislike mismatching heights of books. So I'll stack some books sideways that way it solves the height issue and monotony of everything standing
T Kingfisher (quirky and weird) and Darcy Coates (cozy) are two authors of horror that I love and I think you may like. Love this video. I hope you do a full tour someday.
I have a shelf full of mental health books, a shelf full of YA, a shelf with books on celebrities and a shelf with books on nursing (although I’m not a nurse, I just find those books interesting) and some books on cats and how to speak Japanese 😊
For horror recs, A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay and Within These Walls by Ania Ahlborn are favorites of mine. They're kind of similar in that they deal with possession, but I can't recommend them enough!
@thisstoryaintover how do you do your eyeshadow in each of your videos? Can you do a tutorial on it or share what products you use for your eyes? I’m always staring at your eyeshadow.
I clicked on this because I have a dream library and abso no room to put even ONE more book. I can already see that you would be soooooo inspiring to me.... So I am getting ready to hit subscribe as soon as I finish this comment. Thank you.
I just have one gray 4 shelves bookshelf and a two shelves area for some books below my desk. My book libray just isn't that large. I always want my series and authors on one shelf.
Waittt how did i miss that you are a Shawol🥹🫂 That Jonghyun collection🙌🏼 (kinda jealous😅) Would love to know your favourite album by him and the group!? 💎 The shelves look great!!✨️
How did you find anything with the rainbow arrangement?lol The tilt might be due to your floor not being level, try some shims under the bookshelves. That should do the trick.
They look great! I hope you're loving your new space ☺💖 for a horror (ish) recommendation, you should totally check out 'The God of Endings' by Jacqueline Holland. One of the most beautiful books I've read this year and it took me by complete surprise.
I always found it easier not harder to find books sorted by color.... I definitely remember a book's color but boy do I always remember the author's name? nope
I have about 1/2 the amount of books you have. All I read is 30% Scifi, 30% History of all kinds and 30% of miscellaneous books and magazines. But your library is impressive and like you mentioned, I arrange mine by genre and author's last name. I'm probably a yr late but to level your shelves use a small wooden wedge or shim, you can purchase from Home D.. put it on the bottom of the shelf between the floor and base and hammer it into place. The floor in your apt. is probably un-even!🤔
First you are adorable! I’ve got about a thousand books and thinking about organizing only for about 3 years ……I’ll never do it. Tried to hire a librarian……they laughed. It’s not funny🤷♂️😖
idk if you’ll see this but PLEASE read the Vampire Academy series the name sounds so stupid but it’s one of my all time favorite books ever! Go give it a shot!
this is quite random, but are you not afraid of the grease and smells from cooking getting into the books? that's one of the reasons I didn't go with open space apartment but I'm still not sure it's sth to be concerned with

I love to watch these types of videos with the thought process in how to make the shelves look pretty!
It’s so nice to see your journey so far! It has been great fun 👏🏽

Shelves turned out very nice!!💖 I usually just separate my read from my unread books then organize by vibes.✨

❤️📚❤️📚...love the video! I have mine by author. I love the "library" feel and it keeps series together as well.

Looks great!! Can’t wait to see the apartment tour!
I organized my shelves by genre. I ❤ your vlogs! Can't wait for the next one!
This was such a fun bookshelf organizing video!!

The gaps kill me. If you watch Melreads, she has a gap in her shelves too and it makes me feel idk what 🫢
Definitely screw the shelves together. You can do it at the top and in the back. Will make them look significantly better :)
Your energy is so... light nowadays. It's wonderful to see!

This is one of my fav bookshelf organization!! 😭🫶🏼
Looks great! I don't have my books organized a certain way yet but some day when I have enough space and more bookshelves I may have a method.
I got a second bookshelf this year & this video was my whole mood trying to organize it - I think I redid it like 3 times
Omg there's so much natural light in your apartment!! I'm only at the beginning of the video right now but the bookshelves are already looking good
Use barrel bolts to fix the shelves to each-other.

Congrats on moving and the awesome shelves! I will need to check out that horror book store you mentioned
I organise my books by the author. Your bookshelves look so wonderful and gorgeous. 📚📚📚
I really like your bookshelves!! Mines need an urgent reorganization but I can't find the energy to do it uff

Right?! I had no idea she was a Shawol either!!! Just makes me like her that much more! 😊

Super late but my shelves in my old room were warped too due to the floor being messed up, but ikea sells screws to attach them together
I’m sending you love (:

Ah god i hate it when my books are different heights too, especially within a series

How many books do you have? 😳😄
I have only 40 😀
