For all the.people commenting about the colour... This does look very orange on the video. The guitars are actually more Bronze than Gold, though the new batch of right-handed ones have been changed to a more gold looking colour. The lefties will still be from the older batch that do look nice, but are definitely a Bronze/Metallic Orange rather than gold.
I rather like that sort of burnt orange colour. There was a trend in cars with that colour not too long ago, which I didn't mind. Makes a nice change from just gold!
I like the orange. It's an attractive guitar. I like that the headstock is a nod to Gibson without it being a direct copy. So, no problems with U.S. customs. I've inquired with Artist before in regards to their amps. It's doable, but from what I've been able to gather, it's not cost effective. I'm not a fan of P90's, but I really like the sound of those ones in stacked mode. Cool video, Shane! I'll keep an eye on the used market and also look further into whether we can get 'em shipped to the U.S. for a decent price. Of course, I'm planning on taking a vacation to Australia, New Zealand and Japan in a couple of years. So hmmmm.....
Stacked P90s are awesome! I have the HB DC Jr FAT with a stacked P90. The tones are immense! The punk/grunge tone when unstacked, is awesome! Great video Shane!
I'm now across the ditch in NZ. I bought a gold top (yes, it's gold). Your one looks like the apricot burst finish. Artist got it to me here in 2 days. Beautiful action. Flawless build and set-up out of the box. Holds tune. Lovely tones through a 65watt Laney with BD2 in front. Just ordered a VOX valvetronix (valve pre amp) VT40X with the Footswitch for it. Awesome guitar.
As a lefty in Canada, gettinga lefty gold top LP style with P90s is crazy expensive. I asked Artist about whether or not they are going to stock their American site with these. No luck thus far, but maybe in 2025. Gotta love affordable and superb guitars like this!
Sire Larry Carlton L7V might be an option? Available in Lefty Goldtop with p90s ,and looks "very" similar to this Artist? Always a chance you can find a deal or keep scouring the usual listings for one someone is moving on. Good luck, as a lefty it can be a battle sometimes. I'm lucky to have a couple of good brands, but also a budget Harley Benton DC-junior FAT. Great spec (single stacked P90)and plays wonderfully.
I always get a kick out of you saying stuff like "If you're a right handed player you can still get one of these" as if that was ever in question. And even if there was a guitar that only came in left handed, almost all of my guitars are right handed ones that I restrung left handed because actual left handed guitars are so hard to find so I wouldn't feel bad if they had to do something like that for once.
Now that's a NICE axe! Good work on those pick ups too. Many don't get the sound right on the stacked P90 types & they just sound LIKE a normal (PAF style) hum bucker! These at least still have the sc body, just a bit thicker sounding! Nice job!
I was wondering when someone was going to do this. From this demo, I find they sound more like single coils than P90s though. I take that back, later in the demo, I’m definitely hearing P90s.
Great rocky jam track, Shane. Artist certainly appear to have "orangified" the gold tops on these. Your last one a few years back was a far bit closer to a conventional gold top. Mind you, this isn't necessarily a bad thing if you want something different. I came close to buying one back then, but now have too many guitars and am trying to slim the numbers down! Thanks. Speed knobs might make the coil taps easier to engage. I don't know of too many that offer fret nibs at this sort of price, for what that's worth.
Artist guitars are great - I had a Strat Style for a while but let it go when I got a real Fender but back to stacked coils - my Vintage Les Paul Goldtop has a rather sharp tone so I am thinking of putting Epiphone P 90 units in it . Cheers Shane.
He said it weighs 4-4.6 kilos (watch @ 2:10). I don't know why the variability (I think much like actual Gibsons, it's about the variable density of the wood (mahogany)) but he says it's "reasonable" for a guitar of this type.
Sounds good to me - looks fantastic 🙂I think I need one I don't have a P90 guitar yet and I just got a Peavey Stereo chorus 2x12 270w of Peavey Goodness it is like 2 bandits rigged like siamese twins - Jeepers - lots of fun - test it through that?
Great review. Great guitar. On their website this guitar appears more “yellow” gold top than this video indeed it is ORANGE .. great colour, but it ain’t gold top
My newest Agile has a single stacked P90/P100. That guitar with that PUP has taught me more about getting varied tones out of my hands than anything else. The cool thing is that a lot of what I've found I can do with that guitar and PUP are now transferrable to my other guitars. Who knew something as simple as a different guitar PUP configuration would make such an impact? I'd been told Artist has lefty options I should check out but their USA site still shows nothing available. Bummer really.
The 'on' is clockwise / anticlockwise variation is a bugger! I'm a lefty too, my first 'real' guitar was a 70s Japanese Les Paul copy,, so I got used to 'louder' being exactly the same as louder is on any other device - amps, radios, cooker dials, pretty much all use 'clockwise = more'. Seemed to make sense to me, nothing else was reversed for a lefty, or at least nothing I'd come across. So to me this Artist (and Fenders and PRSs and ESPs - heh) are all backwards!
I had my eye on an Artist Guitars Grungemaster for punk rockin' but the stacked P90s on this puppy have me thinking this guitar could be the more versatile option that can sound like a Grungemaster in the split-coil positions but also fatten-up in the stacked position. Would that be a fair assessment or am I missing something here? Also, what's the balance of the guitar like? Does it want to dive head-first like Les Pauls do? Thanks for the video. Bless ya bruv!
Will Artist ever put stacked P90's into another colour of LP or junior style LP? I really don't want another gold top but I'm interested in an Artist LP style guitar.
Thanks Shane, how do Artist shape up against Squire Affinity range which seem to be in a similar price range? It would be nice to see a comparison video.
These feel like way more expensive guitars. The finish and pickups are great on these. These are similar to some of the Epiphones or Harley Benton guitars. I'll see if I can do a comparison next time I get my hands on them :)
That’d be great. I have two electric Epiphones, Casino (natural as per John Lennon’s sanded down version) and LP 50’s Standard Heritage Cherry Red. Both are fantastic guitars.
What would you say is the catch with these guitars? Seems too good to be true that for $300-600 one could get electric guitars that not only rival Epiphone or Squier, but the proper Fender or Gibson models as well. What are the biggest drawbacks to the Artist brand vs the others that you habe experienced? Are there any?
Availability. Limited volume, limited distribution. And scalpers seems to like buying them all up til stock is exhausted then reselling at higher prices. But if they're available in your country, and in-stock direct, there aren't many big drawbacks.
To all the ones commenting that it looks orange... Could it be colour correction? Cuz if you look carefully, Shane hinself looks kinda more pinkish/reddish than usual. But maybe I'm wrong.
Looks the same as LP model from Eko. Same color, pickups and cutaway. Those are different wood. There is another brand wich looks the same too. Must be made in the same factory.
I own a a Gibson Les Paul Junior Special 2001, it came with P-100s. They never got the love although they had a great P90 noiseless sound. Still have it and love it! Ever old is new again!
Hi Shane do you know if they sell those guitars in Canada! I watch few of your videos about those guitars and from what I heard they are great for there value. Has usual great video again, if feel free to contact me or get in touch thanks. Gino

That is not a gold top….more like a carrot top
It looks metallic orange to me too. I thought it was cool though.
🤣 Yep!
Creamsicle
I was thinking pumpkin top, but carrot top works too 😂
Duracell copper top
Sounds great on all the settings. I've always liked the way P90s, and being able to get them with a noiseless option is awesome!
It's a awesome guitar ! Really sweet instrument. 😊 Blues On....💙

Great video, as always Shane, nice work. I'm about to do a straight swap of a Gibson LP Special for a Junior

Awesome guitar.
Pretty guitar and damn it sounds fine. LOVE P90s.
I've got one of these and I love it. My brother saw it and bought one too. LOL
I bought the LP59 TRB DELUXE from Artist Guitar's. Ive had it for just under a year now with no complaints.
Great sounding and affordable.

You'd be surprised how many people ask in the comments if they can get it in a righty! haha
I own 6 Artist Guitars , including there top priced acoustic , all are awesome .. Great review thanks..
Great vid Shane! The stacked P90’s sound really good! Love the color!!! 🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸
I got a P90 SG those sound pretty convincing for humbuckers.
Killer Intro!!!!! You are getting better!!!
One of many beautiful LH Artist guitars that are only available in Oz and not NZ.
Nice!!! I like the color and the P90s rock!!!🎸 🎸🎸🎸😎🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Watching these video's give me gas. 🤣😂🤣
@ 😂😂🤣
This Guitar sounds awesome- Might be a good for a good Budget guitar
Now that's a NICE axe! Good work on those pick ups too. Many don't get the sound right on the stacked P90 types & they just sound LIKE a normal (PAF style) hum bucker! These at least still have the sc body, just a bit thicker sounding!

I have an artist lp59gt a really good guitar great tones great value good as my other guitars which are $1000+
Excellent Jam @ the begining!
Always a pleasure to see a lovely LP being played in the “proper” direction….lefties!!!!!
Vintage guitars have had models with stacked P90s for many years, including a goldtop LP.
I must have bought and sold ten LP style guitars over the past few years. Just can't bond with them for long.
I was wondering when someone was going to do this. From this demo, I find they sound more like single coils than P90s though. I take that back, later in the demo, I’m definitely hearing P90s.
I got one co of your review, last year . Incredible guitar

Another great video! Thanks Shane
I have a single stacked dog ear P-90 in my Di Pinto Jr style guitar. All the great P-90 tones without the feedback.
Duracell, copper top over black
That guitar looks more orange top than gold top!
How heavy is it, Shane? Great review, by the way - as usual!
He said it weighs 4-4.6 kilos (watch @ 2:10). I don't know why the variability (I think much like actual Gibsons, it's about the variable density of the wood (mahogany)) but he says it's "reasonable" for a guitar of this type.

Cool pickup design. Apparently I need a new guitar now.

Hey this is great! Does Artist Guitars ship to the US?
I had my eye on an Artist Guitars Grungemaster for punk rockin' but the stacked P90s on this puppy have me thinking this guitar could be the more versatile option that can sound like a Grungemaster in the split-coil positions but also fatten-up in the stacked position. I like all of your Videos Bro'
Is there any way to find these in Canada or US?
Interesting definition of the word 'gold'.
Yeah it’s not a Gibson colour which is good. I talk about the colour at the end of the video.
Thanks for the review @intheblues. I am in the market for a new guitar. Would you prefer this guitar over an Epiphone LP Classic?
Sounds good Shane…nice demo. Do you get to keep this one?
I just had it on loan mate. It’s gone back already.
Artist guitar

👍🏻👍🏻
Dangelico Bob Wei
Does it look gold in person?
It looks decidedly orange in the video.
I wish Artist Guitars utilized JJ'S pickups in some of their guitars. That would be the Cats Ass. ¡¥¡
I see them here and there, but I am asking "why?" 😊

Thank you @paulcooksstuff!
Is this a rerelease of this video? Didn't you review this artist gold top with stacked p90's like 3 years ago?
To all the ones commenting that it looks orange... Could it be colour correction? Cuz if you look carefully, Shane hinself looks kinda more pinkish/reddish than usual. But maybe I'm wrong.
Looks very orange? 🍊
Annoying Orange!
Bthat headstock looks like a fazley, probably the same factory
Please import them in the USA 🇺🇸
Shane's latency is gold top..
That just sounds freakin’ awesome, stacked & not
Great jam track.
Looks the same as LP model from Eko. Same color, pickups and cutaway. Those are different wood. There is another brand wich looks the same too.
Must be made in the same factory.
Aren't stacked P90s called P100s?
I own a a Gibson Les Paul Junior Special 2001, it came with P-100s. They never got the love although they had a great P90 noiseless sound. Still have it and love it! Ever old is new again!
Weir
It's nice - but i've sworn off Chinese-made guitars.
10 lbs? That made me stop listening.
