For those who are curious about the job. Some lesser known facts: as a United States military police officer/ master at arms/ security forces for the AF. You are a Federal law enforcement officer under the department of defense. You also qualify for LEOSA (law enforcement officer safety act) which allows you to conceal carry off duty- if you are reserves you can still conceal carry as long as your company commander signs off on it.

@@robertoarreola4656 not a problem! All the new guys I get, I get them educated on their benefits, most of them don’t even know they are federal cops. And they don’t even know they can conceal carry! I make sure all my guys/girls get their LEOSA certs. So they can continue to protect and defend off duty at home. The world is a dangerous place and the more service members who have earned the benefits and are squared away character wise, can conceal carry that means more innocent people’s lives can be saved both in and out of uniform/ duty. United States Uniformed Police Corps. Marine Corps Military Police, US Army Military Police. US Navy Master at Arms, US Air Force Security Forces. That is the uniformed section of Department of Defense Police Forces. Then there is the DOD Civilian Side. We all took an oath to protect the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC. knowledge is power, your oath doesn’t stop when your on leave (active duty) or your home (reserves). Here in cali gun laws are just… hence why I carry everywhere I go. Stay strapped ladies and gents ! Continue to serve with honor and set the standard and protect lives.

Hey Bradyn, I just want to say congrats on you decision on enlisting! My recommendation that helped me is running. In bootcamp you are going to do a lot of running and different types of exercises.
Second learn the general orders and both Enlisted/ Officer rank structure. Other type of knowledge the instructors will teach you. Also make sure you create good learning habits by studying. If you have trouble don't be afraid to ask questions. You are there to learn and grow from recruit to marine.
Third and final advice, just continue to push yourself. There are going to be times you will question your choices and will feel each day is going to get hard. Remember why you went, push yourself to do better, improve on your fitness and education and you will succeed. I believe in you and good luck!

You must qualify in the ASVAB, that is step one. Must get a GT score of 100 to be able to qualify for the MP mos. Once you go to Fort Leonard Wood for MP, you must study because every week or two weeks you will do an exam and you must pass all of them including the final exam to become a MP.
If you fail one, you can retake it. However, if you fail the second time you will be dropped from the class and placed in the next class. MP is one of the most strict MOSs because you are going to be responsible for the safety of those on base and it's the most fun in my opinion

@JusticePierce in my opinion, focus on the Math and English portions of the ASVAB. Majority of MOSs are focused on that. If you want to go into specific MOSs such as mechanics etc. You need to do the autoshop and mechanics portions for example. But Math, the Reading, and arithmetic reasoning are the most important
