I read the Book of Genesis first even though the words are really deep and some of them are overwhelming but I just like to follow the timeline of the story because for me I'd feel the real impact of the words of John when I read and understand who God is from the very start of the story.
I'm still learning. Honestly Joyce I just read through different areas in the bible. Mostly where my holy spirit guides me too. A lot of time its to thing about me . its a healing process for me right now and thank God for guiding me through the word .
I agree, John is a very good place to start. Then Acts, then Romans. In my opinion, that is a good place to start. I appreciate Joyce for her down to earth approach to reading the Bible.
I was like that until I started to asking Holy Spirit take more of me and give me more of Jesus Christ and I say I welcome You now my Helper Holy Spirit as I read this word of life let it settle into my heart, soul and mind in Jesus Christ..now I can meditate on it even when I don't quote the verses but I know now how to speak back to devil with word and pray in word what's important isn't quoting verse or memories them but living in them within your heart.
Sylivia, I am the same way. Notes and lots of underlines in my Bible and I don't remember a word of it when I read it again. Ritah, thank you for your suggestion. I will begin that today. Joyce Meyer, you are making God's Word relevant to my life and hearing of your transformation makes me desire to be changed by God's Word. Thank you for your testimony and ministry. Yes. I started in the epistles when I first started reading years ago. Love your books on those to help study them. Ty for your faithful devotion to God’s call!♥️
I'm ashamed to ask. I recently lost my Bibles due to financial hardship by losing our storage locker. I had the amplified Bible Everyday Living and miss my morning meditation and Bible Study it's important to my sobriety October 1st will mark 4 years of sobriety. Online Bible is ok, but not inspiring me to read online daily. Nothing beats holding your Bible and journaling the excitement of growing closer to God💜
For anyone who read the whole Bible from the beginning to the end, Did you comprehend everything while you read it and still recall everything? I find when I study my Bible in specific individual books, chapters, and verses, and take time to meditate on those words, and pray, that I hear and comprehend so much more than if I read the whole Bible from start to finish as some sort of marathon accomplishment. Study the Word daily and focus on Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you and guide you. In the mighty and beautiful name of our Lord God, King, and Saviour: Christ Jesus, I pray: Amen, Hallelujah, Peace, and Maranatha.
Thank you so much for this. This is really helpful. I actually want to start by knowing God’s love for humanity. I feel this would help me know where I’m headed in the Bible. Like you said; I’m definitely not going to rush like it’s a sort of marathon. Will take my time to read and meditate on each verse and chapter.

You must start in Genesis if you want to understand the of the scriptures. You cannot start in the new testament and think you will have a clear understanding of who Jesus is .
