I don't know. I'm not sure OSU could actually stop our offense. Outside of two three and outs, both purely caused by our own mistakes, we went up and down that field like it was nothing. Those two early mistakes really cost us a chance in this game. Going down by 24 was basically insurmountable, yet, we came within one play of having a shot to surmount it. It is unfortunate, makes it hurt worse, but ND showed up last night and was not out played, and was not embarrassed. Too many things didn't go our way, mostly our own fault, and credit to OSU for not making those mistakes. Gosh, it was a great game.

I woke up this morning feeling like it was all just a bad dream... this is the saddest I've been after an ND game that I can remember in a long time (2013 was a completely different beast where they had maybe a 1 in 1000 shot to pull that game off). This game boiled down to 1 quarter of uncharacteristic football from the defense that stemmed from a known weakness of the offense... all season long I was worried about the offense's tendency to stall out on early drives... this game their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th drive all stalled due to missed throws, penalties, and an unfortunate fake punt. To claw back against THE most talented team in the nation shows exactly how strong this ND team is... they were in a spot to win a natty this year and next year they should only have more depth and experience across the board... the only question mark next year is at QB, but Carr sounds promising.

Not injury free, they lost 2 all-American lineman. As for spending, Notre Dame spent more. Learn something before you talk and you won't look like an idiot.
ND needs a throwing QB, not a running QB. Hopefully, homegrown talent in CJ Carr will be the difference moving forward. Steve Angeli is limited in his lack of mobility.

Sure they might dominate and make the title game again, but when it matters most we saw this team fold. Compared to a team like Texas who played in the SEC and was ready for that Ohio State game cause they played Georgia twice, they didn't see anything they haven't seen before..Notre Dame is at a peculiar spot now because they can make the playoffs with a loss or even 2 if it's vs elite competition and still make the playoffs, but they're just playing for a playoff spot for the money and recognition.
