      As a New South Welshman (in an Australian 'State' thinking'...and knowing all of 'Britain' was originally 'Welsh') it is pure magic to put the text books aside(easy, as they are ignorant), and soar like an eagle over historical sights. If I had the money I would do it myself. I don't. So I can only offer you my deepest heart felt gratitude. You, and your work, are most certainly appreciated.

    You have some truly marvelous prehistoric archaeological sites in the UK. You've recorded quite a number for us now, and I'm always impressed. Wonderful video - something else that's marvelous is how you get such quality in your films. Cheers, John

    Love learning history through your eyes, and of course the eye of the quad. I try and imagine all that went on in those lands back in time. How many horses traveled between the forts, and people working the land, and I assume battles fought. Was the land always so treeless?
    Take care
    Bruce
    PS. I have lost one drone and camera to date. Nice reminder to check systems. I didn't check that a major front was coming in and took my drone out to sea. Fought the good fight for 20 minutes just couldn't make it back. I got the same model as I had invested in compatible controller. I am more cautious in the wind now.

    Love your aerial filming Sandy, were lucky to have all this history here in Wiltshire, you could make a good aerial video of Stonehenge mate, now the road has gone you can get right up close to the stones via the Avenue or the Curses, loads of burial mounds, Woodhenge, Durrington Walls, I could show round, keep up the good work, atb, Paul.

    Great bit of flying there mate! The Ridgeway always has stunning scenery, whatever time of the year & I have walked and biked it several times. once as far as the MI motorway. Good to see how big these hillforts are and the way they are connected together, rather like the Roman staging posts which came later. I wonder if they served a similar purpose.

      +Tom Sykes Hi Tom,
      The best footage is when the sun is behind or to the side of the camera and also when the copter is taken upwind and then allowed to drift back with the air mass. No vibrations at all then.

    You know Sandy , a flyover of the Uffington White Horse would make a damn good intro for your knifemaking channel . Your aerial photography runs are getting quite epic ... if we could sort out a straffing , launch and release systems , the 'epic epicness' would be beyond measure ... :) atb...

    With the beautiful landscape and music - it's almost like a short video out of the massive film "Out of Africa"
    With your drone do you have a video screen on your drone controller to view the drone camera ? ATB Richard

      +ExRE_Sapper Hi Richard. No I don't have any way to see what the camera see's so I have to guess, take lots of video and edit to get the best. I hope one day I will be able to upgrade to a better setup.
      Thanks for watching

    Have you been to the west Kennet long Barrow?
    A really magical place, not dissimilar to Wayland's Smithy.
    It would make a great quad copter video as you would be able to get Silbury hill in it!

    Sandy, can you do SOTA from any of those locations? Also, don't the drones have GPS to return home, if they get out of range? N4API.

    • @WiltshireMan
      @WiltshireMan  9 років тому

      +Fat Dude No and Yes. No because the hillfort is not a classified SOTA summit. Not high enough. And yes the drone will return home if I lose sight of it. Just have to turn the remote controller off!

    Still waiting for your Avebury drone film Sandy, (well I am anyway, ha, ha). Last time I mentioned the subject to you you said you feared they might stop you from filming with your drone there, (which is a shame because you'd make a good worthwhile interesting stimulating vid). I live in hope. thanks a lot mate.

      @WiltshireMan  9 років тому

      +James Stewart Dunn I would love to fly over Avebury. Maybe one day when I get FPV cos then I could hide away and no one would know who was piloting the drone. I wouldn't get caught then haa
