This was my dads funeral song, I adore it ... it was always on the cd in the car, reminds me of long road trips ... happy days indeed

When I die I would like to play 1st. part of Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding. My soul would very happily detach itself from this old carcass...
Saw him live twice years ago. Both awesome shows. Feel very lucky to have caught them. Haven't had a chance to catch him a while, though I might make my way to the Hunstville gig in April. Only so many chances. Never have caught this particular tune live, but it's most definitely a favorite of mine, and on the live bucket-setlist

I am delighted with this version! the best i ever heard
This has been one of my sneaky favorites ever since I received the Captain Fantastic album in 2005 as a birthday present! (Btw I was 12) This version really brings back memories of me playing it on cd over and over again that summer. Have seen him twice live already, hopefully will see him at least one more time before he's too old or retires!
Thank you for posting this entire show. I bought this years ago in New York City at 'Rebel Rebel' simply because of the live "Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy". I am glad I rediscovered it...
This is my absolute favorite performance of Captain Fantastic i’ve ever heard in my life. A god almighty performance!! I also call Monica Rial the same name. 🥹💖😍
Don't forget Michael Jackson was also a musical phenom. Prince too so was Keith emerson Greg lake Jimmy Hendrix Jim Morrison and comedic men of genius like Robin Williams
Davey Johnstone deserves more recognition for what he adds to Elton's sound. On songs like this, his guitar is central.
He had help from two other guitarists on this tour, including Jeff Skunk Baxter.

So good. Its almost 2 songs.
The slow storytelling and solid guitar rock.
And its about him.
Probably the best version of this song I've ever heard
com certeza Daniel!
the first album to enter the charts at number 1...they did it again with Rock of the Westies
I totally dig this performance. It's a great song and an even better performance. Too bad he doesn't do this song anymore. Well, keep hoping.
I gasped with excitement when I heard him play this on the One Tour in April, 1993. So exciting- I’m loving hearing this whole set list again. ❤️
This Song never gets old.......!!
This was the very first album I ever bought. Today it is still my favorite...
What a joy to hear him sing this in his deeper, older voice. Absolutely love this version. Thank you so much for posting it.
Saw him sing this live once, brilliant. Think it was at Earls Court London.
