Were you in the BBMF Dakota? We were there watching you all jump, a bit further along from where you landed, you can see the entrance to the sand works where we were stood. It was an amazing tribute to those who fought for freedom, fantastic effort, I can't wait for Jun 24.
No, we were in the next C47 after the military drops, named Drag em oot. We were nothing to do with the daks over Normandy, we're a group of mainly ex parachute regiment members called Pathfinder parachute group. This chalk consists of parachute regiment and s.a.s retired members and one civilian, my niece. Glad you enjoyed the video
@@dougmoodie8713 Just checked my images it is the same drop you as in your video. You all dropped slightly further forward, closer to the town as in your video. A friend of mine was an engineer on the flights, so we knew where and when the drop was happening. Such an impressive thing to watch, as good as your drop was to view, I could not imagine the actual numbers on the real event blows my mind. When I get to Merville I will lay a cross at Casement No 1 in Honour of your dad and your family. I remember meeting Billie Ness at Ranville in 2019 such a lovely man and he kindly shared such a moving story, one I shall never forget.Thank you for what you all do to keep their memory in the present. Lest We Forget. Regards Paul.
@PaulSpencerImages2012 yes the number 3 hesitated which put 9-12 over the houses nearly, all ended well and the kids loved it. Thank you for your kind intentions for my dad. I will be at Merville 5th June for the annual service at 5pm. What we do in our commemoration jumps is just to paint a picture of what happened, and is nothing compared to what those lads did in 44, but its the least we can do in their memory.
Awesome! Well done all of you. Is that Rob (Jamie) just in front of you? And would you mind if I share your video? I don’t like doing so without asking.
I just don't know how you do it, Doug! X
