Hey guys there's a much easier way of creating a perfect animated line without using the pen tool. Go to file, new, Color Matte, chose the color you want. drop it on your timeline, next go to Uniform Scale and un check it. Next scale height and width as desired by clicking the toggle ( the little circle stop watch) and animate your box or line as you wish. You'll be able to do this under one minute. Cheers.
Those who can't use the pen tool all you have to do instead is to go to Title > New Title > Default Still and you can use the pen tool there. Then exit the window when done and your edited line/text will appear in Project Panel. Drag to the Working Area. If you want to edit your text later but you already have closed that window just double click on the file in Project Panel. Btw great tutorial! Thank you very much ^u^
Finally solved the mask problem! If the mask is following the text when you're moving it, you are changing 'Position' under Motion which you shouldn't, instead, search for 'Transform' in effects, apply it to the text layer and change the position from 'Transform' and not 'Motion'. Hope this helped!
was struggling with this, thanks. One thing to remember, once you add the transform effect, move it above the mask in the editing panel or it won't work.
I remember this tutorial from 4 years ago. With this single tutorial, I did a lot over these years. I tweak them and they became something else. Thank you tutvid thanks you so much.
I'm beginner to Premiere Pro. I've been watching Premiere Tutorials for months now... But none of them has helped me liked this one... So, I thank you from my heart
Thanks pal! I have come back to this video about 4 times to watch it again over the past year. I think this time I finally memorized it. You're the best!
I was using the Track Matte Key with another graphic layer with a rectangle. You just saved me minutes! I know it sounds silly, but working with a lot of text on a video, this could probably save me 10ths of minutes!
I recently found your channel and I just want to say thank you so much for these tutorials! You've helped me sharpen my skills so much over the past couple of weeks
This is so helpful for my travel vlog videos! Thanks man! i shall use this effect often, it is soo nice!! Not to mention, your explaination is so interactive and not boring at all.
I really dig the attention to detail your provide - literally every move has a comment. That is so necessary for novice learners such as myself. Many thanks. I have this DOWN now thanks to your vid. Will look for others and happy to support your efforts by subbing. Cheers!
Great video. Never knew about those safe margins. thanks alone for that. I am using that all the time now. I found it easier to do the line in Photoshop then import it. hee "hold down the shift key like in Photoshop - as nice as that might be". Indeed it would, that made me smile.
Literally, It is a hot cake. At least for me! Most wanted video tutorial I was searching from the last couple of weeks! Nicely explained and super easy to do.👍👍 I hope we can use the graph editor to give more natural look to the animation.
THANK YOU! You talk too fast so I need to pause more than necessary but of all the tutorials I have watched, this one was the simplest to follow and one that actually taught me how to do this effect. Thanks and more power to your channel!
Great help with theses videos, I film my holiday memories, hotels and stuff that might help people going to the same places, although I’m not professional these tutorials help make my UA-cam videos look better. Keep up the great work I’ll try this one in my next video 👍🏻
How can I do this with a legacy title, where the text can't be moved separately from the mask? My issue is when I keyframe movement, the mask moves too.
Cool one dude! These tutorials of yours are really helpful! Ive been doing this in after effects which more easier.. but never knew you could do it in premiere Pro..
Hi again Nathaniel ! - I put a good hour into doing a few samples, and referred to this video of yours a few times... finally got it in my head and I'm getting faster. One thing which is disappointing.... you *cannot* use a *graphic* like .psd or .jpg .png from Photoshop because there is no masking option available. So - I thought - maybe I can create a graphic in the new graphics panel option, which I did, and chose "file" import and tried a .psd logo .... and thought - ok this is going to fool PPCC into thinking it is text... got all excited and nope..... it doesn't work - still no masking option which is too bad.
Great video, I've watched a couple of yours so far and much thanks but one thing that would be helpful for me and maybe others is to show a preview of the effect you are teaching at the very beginning of the vid, especially when its not obvious by the thumbnail since thats a still image. I'm still new to PP, so at the start of your video you kinda jump right in and I'm not always sure where this is going or what I'm looking for. I hope that makes sense, thanks again for your channel!
To use this reveal effect on a png, mask your png and just drop the transform effect (distort) on your layer and keyframe the position from transform effect controls.
Sorry how do you do this? The mask moves with the text so I don't know how to keep the mask in one place and have the text it is applied to move out from it independently?
Great Tutorial! I have used it at the beginning of my latest two video without any problems. At least after I found out that the Text Tool requires at least an 11.1 version ;-)

This is a good idea. I might make a two-minute Premiere tutorial on it and give you the shout out for leaving the comment. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
@@adel6782 hi i did what you said, but there seems to be no tranform??
Tutorial for this please! x.x
Thanks :-)

i was on this for hours and wondering why its not working!! THANK YOU. I LOVE YOU

Something as simple as animating text was so hard for me, this tutorial helped me so much.
I learn something new every day.
Thanks!
I'm beginner to Premiere Pro. I've been watching Premiere Tutorials for months now... But none of them has helped me liked this one... So, I thank you from my heart
I haven't seen 1 of your videos yet that isn't useful & easy to follow. Best channel I've found for video editing.
You are sooo good Nathaniel - very easy to follow....

Even though you talk fast, you explain it perfectly, i didnt have to rewind so thank you! liked and Subbed!
Great video. Never knew about those safe margins. thanks alone for that. I am using that all the time now.

How can I do this with a legacy title, where the text can't be moved separately from the mask? My issue is when I keyframe movement, the mask moves too.
I am facing the same issue. please help!!!
Same problem. I can't get the mask to stop "tracking" with the text movement. Really friggin annoying.
@@Symuality im still having the same problem. this is seriously insanely frustrating
Yeah, I don't understand why I can't make the mask stay in place...
You're talking at a perfect speed. It massively irritates me when tutorials run at super slow speed. So, thank you. :D
Same here, I always click the speed on a video and click 1.25 try it, it saves so much irritation.
Wow thank you so much! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Successfully used this in my last video! Thanks so much for the tutorial :)
Very easy to understand thank you
Thanks for this great tutorial. I haven't used premiere in years. I forgot how to use keyframes. The titles look really good.
Thank you! Very helpful

Dying to see a video on the new features in Photoshop...especially improvements to the Pen Tool
