i won't say it's easy, but it's probably not made the way you think it is. he got the original video, converted it to ascII using one or other program (maybe they even made it) using a text "resolution" that fits in the youtube subtitles, then used another program to convert the raw ascII into a youtube subtitle file, with timestamps and shit. it's not done manually frame by frame.
