The reason attendance at Bristol sucks has nothing to do with the pave job, lol Attendance is down at almost every race except Daytona. A lot of fans that were in their 50’s and 60’s aren’t around anymore and NASCAR has done a terrible job of pushing itself to young people. The names and personalities in the sport are not what they used to be. Petty, Earnhardt, Gordon, Johnson, Stewart - they’re gone Extreme nepotism exists in the form of Chase Elliot, Ryan Blaney, Ty Gibbs, Todd Gilliland, Austin Cindric, John Hunter Nemechek, Harrison Burton, etc… The playoff system is corny in the way it rewards and penalizes drivers, specifically the 4-way battle that decides the champion in the finale. NASCAR needs a makeover and they need people working to develop the viewing audience
Track owners have full control over what they do or don’t do with the race tracks. They can repave, reconfigure or move a date from one track to another. NASCAR has no control. So you can blame Bruton Smith
I went to Atlanta and Bristol this year so far and both races had better attendance than years past, im encouraged about that. Especially Atlanta, it was pretty full for a great finish.
I'd love it if they'd ditch the progressive banking and remake this version. It's never going to be side-by-side throughout a run but this was far more interesting. Either that or if iRacing could use footage and AI to recreate this version for posterity there for those of us doing that.
I say they either lower it more (they actually decreased the banking by a little bit after 2011 I think) or, and hear me out, make it steeper. But you can’t leave it as is
I was in attendance that day. I miss the old Bristol!
I miss this Bristol. NASCAR ruined this track when they repaved it. It shows in the attendance as well.
Thanks Bruton smith!

There's a reason people call Bristol "Crash City".

How are they gonna say Stewart checked up 🤣 he legit slammed the back or Andretti before he was hit by nemecheck
Newman did that to himself.
Is it just me, or does it look and feel like bodine caused several of these wrecks?
