Phoebe Ryan - Dark Side (dscvr Live)

We were thrilled when Phoebe Ryan joined the bill for our dscvr Live show at Brooklyn’s Knitting Factory in April. The “We Won’t” singer always impresses onstage, and she certainly captivated the room when she rolled through her set. The results are two enticing performances, “Dark Side” and “We Won’t,” that are sure to satisfy fans who weren’t there.
Phoebe’s story is a mix of talent and hard work. She studied at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at New York University, and headed to LA to ply her writing craft and launch her own career as an artist. Credits started to pile up quickly; she helped shape songs by everyone from Bea Miller to Britney Spears. In 2015 she made a mash-up of R. Kelly’s “Ignition” and Miguel’s “Do You.” She also dropped her ‘Mine’ EP. Critics took notice, and stars did, too: both Taylor Swift and Tove Lo recommended Ryan’s music to their fans. Last year she revealed her command of hooks with “Chronic.” Its video found the singer leading a high school band of nerds who switch up their fashion choice and take over a school dance. She’s also featured on The Chainsmokers’ track “All We Know.” Its video has clocked 37MM views on Vevo.
