- In this film, we will tell you the life story of 96-year-old grandmother Hanna and her 65-year-old son Mykhailo, who live their days in the mountainous, very picturesque village of Brustura, Zakarpattia region, Ukraine.
They live together, son Mykhailo does everything around the house, plants a garden, takes care of animals, cleans the yard. Mykhailo became a disabled person after an accident. 10 years ago Mykhailo and his boys were loading hay onto a car, he was on top and tripped and fell to the ground with his head and became disabled. However, Mykhailo himself does not give up and lives with his mother, he is a support and a support for her every day. Anna loves and worries about her son immensely, giving him all her attention and care. Hanna's daughter does not maintain relations with her mother, some of her adult granddaughters have not even been seen by her grandmother.
This story is a testament to how people can live and support each other and find solace in simple things and nature.

I’m 71andlive in Michigan USA. My grandparents were immigrants. (Legal)from Poland.(Prussia). Grandma was tiny like this woman. She reminds me of her. She and grandpa worked very very hard to give their 5 kids a good life. Grandpa didn’t speak too much but when he did…. You listened cuz you thought it must be important….. grandma never said a bad word about anyone
96 still spins wool, milks goats, weeds, rolls out dumplings, stokes the fire. What a warrior!
So sorry her daughter and Granddaughters don't visit. It must make her very sad. Pray for forgiveness for her daughter and family. They need to visit!

I’m 80yrs old watching these old women ,working so much I think they’re blessed.I wish I could reach that far.The strength they Hve it’s amazing ,Gods gifts r unbelievable .They r in ubandance.Praise b to the creator
USA. Louisiana. One great great grandma, Austria, her husband,Slovakia,in the mountains. Their children,Slovakia,the mountains, then moved to the USA, northwestern Illinois. My grandmas husband, Northumberland England. My other grandparents, germany, before the war, then to New Orleans,Louisiana. Their parents got my granfparents out before the war and communism in slovakia. My english grandpa, was with his 5, brothers n sisters visiting England with their mother, they couldnt get back to the states till the war ended. My german grandparents got out before the war.

I am from Wisconsin, USA. I am 65 years old and grew up with my grandparents. We lived just like this. Grandpa would bring in water every morning in a pail with a dipper. We had an outhouse. No phone or tv. We did have electricity. Grandma milked cows by hand with a stool and pail. She milked 25 cows. She sewed all my clothes. My underwear was made of flour sacks (yes, this is true). She made beautiful quilts sewed by hand. One of her quilts is in a local museum. When she died, there were 90 quilts. They put numbers on each one and the kids picked numbers out of a hat to determine which quilt they would get. Unfortunately, since I was a grandchild I did not get a quilt.
